Delightful, as always! Have you heard of the World Central Kitchen? It's a wonderful charity that is run by a famous chef and does the most loving and tender work of feeding people in times of crisis. They are at the border of Ukraine right now, putting yummy sandwiches into the hands of traumatized and hungry refugees. Bless their hearts! Love all the dear folk at Lalande- thank you for being you and sharing your magic with the rest of the world. Big hugs all round!

That fabric was beautiful! I love those colors. It would be a wonderful coffee table book, or on a side table in a guest room, in any home and the perfect gift book. You are so talented and the detail in every drawing/painting is incredible. 🥰 Also, those candle holders could not be more perfect for the chapel! What a gift 🎁

'Holy Water in the chapel' is what I felt would be perfect! Especially for special occasions like Weddings, Baptism or a Mass. Various services could have Holy Water placed into it and then each person entering could use the water * with extra bottle nearby or under it, to refill as needed perhaps?* This is just my thought on this. My vote, if you will. If I even can have a vote? lol Would find this book so very interesting on Venice too, it sounds wonderful! Lovely gifts all around. Andi, is such an exceptional artist! She is a lovely person!

I'm not Catholic, so forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject, but the chapel has been deconsecrated so isn't it meaningless to do these things in a place that is no longer considered religious or "holy" by the Catholic church? Like how can it be holy water if the building is secular? If you put holy water in say, a library, would it still be holy water and do whatever it is that it's supposed to do? I'm not trying to be rude and I hope I don't offend, but this is something I'm curious about and trying to understand so if anyone can enlighten me, thank you in advance.

@@Sgirl Holy Water is blessed by a Priest and you would get this watr from the Priest. They had Salt etc to it and then it iss Holy wherever you place it. The Chapel an be blessed by the Priest as well at any tiime and in Eastern Orthodox Catholic Churchess and many Roman Catholic churches the Priest wil once a year be illing to come and they do a ceremony and bless scorners and doorways etc with sign of cross placed over doorways. They use Water sprinkled around. The Holy Watr used by the peole in Chapel is blessed by priest and put in the vessel only if they know it wil be sued as it would evaporate into the air. Tht is not a bad thing, but it may not last a long time. So deoending how much may be used you would put soem in or you would use it for special occassiosn and fasting days or however you plan to do this. So it will be blessed as a Priest did do the wedding for Isabelle nd Percy and so he would have bleessed the chaoel and also Holy watr is used as they bless sthe water for you. It keeps and is blesed always as longas you have it! Protestants often use it too but aminitr an bless the water. The ones who do 'Communion' ( As the Lord's supper, wiith bread and wine and some use a wafer) and handles the Eucaristic elements ar able to take the spiitual form of the twelve apostles. (of Jesus when on earth) So the chapel is active and the Priest has done services here * Matter of fact, the Priest grew up at Chaeau de Laland, his family were the Marquis.*In the past he did the wedding and think anothr service as well?, Yes, they can come back every year, and yes they can bless water, and you can keep what you need of it, and place it in the baptismal vessel as needed for use at the Chapel. Hope this helps you to understand how this works? I have studied various religions.
@Sgirl2 жыл бұрын
@@carolweaver3269 So you're saying one could do a baptism in Stephanie's chapel and it would be recognized by the Catholic church as a proper Catholic baptism as long as a priest came and blessed the chapel beforehand, even though the chapel is deconsecrated? News to me! 🤷♀️
@carolweaver32692 жыл бұрын
@@Sgirl As far s baptism normally the Priest would come and do it if you have a baptismal font available. ( They are much larger than what we spoke of putting up for blessings) BUT if someone needed a bapsim quickly, as they may pass away, or other a such, according to the chatecumen anyone can do it if it was an emergency. If someone thought was going to pass away and a priest would not make it , in time, then another could do it by saying " Lord please bless *name*In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit ', but they would do it as a blessing. The Lord hears our prayers. But under normal circumstandes as a Roman Catholic Chapel, they would all in a Priest. They do come to cahpels as they are a family church. Many eas ago tha is exactly how it wa done many tiems. As of this day they can still get a priest to come for them if they wre having a baptism, marriage or other. But to walk into a church,' crossiing yourself,' you onlly need water blessed by the Priest ahead of time. You keep the container of water and fill it as needed. You can then go inside to pray. A Mass would only be conducted by a Priest. But a person or people can sing hymns or pray wthouot a priest. A person cn even read fro mthe bible without a Priest. Even women do it in Catholic churches , They also have Eucharistic ministers ( women as well) who have the elements an hold them in hand for those who may want to get the wiine . They satand off to the side normally. ther are vaious saays thigns are done. All churches ( denominations)have their own dogmas and way of conducting thir services. The Catholic church was an original church and the protestants later broke off with Martin Luther (former monk)from Roman Catholic and King Henry the 8th ( as he wanted a divorce) from the Church of England and then they started the Anglican Church. Moviing to the U.S, they do have Anglican and also Episcopal churches which is the 'break off from that.' All broke off little by little as people did not agree. The Orthodox and Roman Catholic were 'one until 1055.' * Now I must not speak on this any longer as you would need to look it up) This forum is not for me to talk this much to explain abotu the church. I jsut wanted to explaiin hwo the Water can be blessed by a Priest in order for people to enter the Chapel to have a prayer, hymns or bible reading. at Chateau de LaLande they do have some bibles for people to read in a few translations. But at this time, I think we have discussed enough about religion we truly need not go any further on this. I hope this has helped you though. If you ant rad the Chatcumen or on the website they would discuss various thigns on this am sure for Roman Catholic Churches. But they would be fiine with 'blessed water by a priest ahead of time, in the chapel when they felt they needed to use it. ' They could get alot of t to hold on hand for a half a year even. They do bless water a few tims of the year.

When I cook artichokes, I save the water and use it as a broth.. add astringents, like bay leaf, allspice, juniper berry, pepper berry and dash of either a vinegar or lemon of both.. I started doing this when I heard Italian grandmothers use the artichoke cooking water as a health tonic... So not surprised there is a liqueur..

It is impossible to love Venice more than I do, one of the most unutterably beautiful places ever, but I must admit, when I went there (only once, but never to be forgotten) it struck me that the last thing I would ever call it is 'serene'! For me, it is a cauldron of never-ending activity and splendour, the last place I would ever go to for 'serenity'! I find myself wondering if it was more serene in the fifteenth century? Very likely so, since there were no motor taxis or vaparettos back then. Even so, I am fairly confident that it was not exactly serene at any point in its history, even if less noisy! Whatever the truth of that, it is a living miracle. Charity Suggestion Box: THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION which restores vision for people in the Third World. Going blind en masse, unnecessarily because the cannot afford treatment. Thank you for the video. Have a wonderful weekend!

This vlog, Venice Comes To The Chateau, proves beyond a doubt that Stephanie is a very gifted chatelaine thanks to so many generous and thoughtful gift givers, and deservedly so. As to the candelabras, I'd say they'd be even more impressive with a soft red base color to "anchor" them, some dark blue hints to harmonize them with existing elements and gold trim highlights to create an absolute sense of balance and belonging, as if they had always been a part of the chapel's visual majesty and spiritual sensibility. Who can doubt that Philip will work his magic.
