Clean up doesn’t work … it’s not a solution. People who are homeless come right back-where else do they have to go? I saw this happen a few days ago on Lincoln Blvd outside of Whole Foods and CVS. As soon as 5 police 👮 cruisers had disappeared the tents 🏕️ were going back up.

Outstanding Job By this task force. Day after day They show Patience and Professionalism. And Force when necessary. Santa Monica is setting the bar on how this hard task is Completed. Great job SMPD. I only wish Culver City would do the same.

Those are LAPD officers. Venice falls under the LAPD's Pacific Division. If you feel credit towards the police dept that joins in these clean ups is warranted, then the correct dept deserves to be identified.

This is Not a Housing problem, it is a Drug and Mental Problem. These people are not seeking a roof over their heads, they gave that up for their freewheeling lifestyle of addictions. Improve Slab City with a 10th of what this is costing and bus them there. Only They will decide when to join society or not, and stop enabling them and rewarding them with your passion, tough issues require tough actions.

no kidding, this is also happening in a lot of bigger cities in north America, So yes, the "freewheeling lifestyle of addiction" as you call it indeed makes users so unstable that they refuse to go to treatment centers which leaves the only real option, which was once called being institutionalized, but officials will not even consider this option over morality and freedom of choice issues, a decision made by officials that is almost as messed up as the addicts themselves, So you are indeed right, tough actions are needed not just in Venice beach but any city where hard drugs are being used...

It’s sad for the cleaning crew and police to do this over and over again. The homeless just set up camps on next street and this operation repeats again. Waste our tax money and resources!

@skrus1 What I think he is referring to is all the homeless people in America sleeping on the streets, and the government is putting illegal immigrants in $350 a night hotel rooms, building shelters, putting them in school gymnasiums while the homeless population of Americans grows.
