It IS so hard to find tees for boys that aren't obnoxious! Ugh even new. Love me some thrift shopping! The Doobie Bros cassette tape was a highlight for me. 😊 Thanks for sharing! You're inspiring me to get our kiddos' winter gear sorted. It gets just as cold here in Minnesota and we also don't have a wood stove for drying. Lotsa gear to gather! Have a great week, Kate! ❤

Awesome haul Kate! Love your videos. I think I’ve binge watched them all. Thank you for the reminder about Benadryl. I should have some on hand. Recipe for Fever Roller I’ve used for years on our children, just another option before meds: using Young Living essential oils 15 drops peppermint 25 drops Thieves oil in a 10 ml roller. Fill the rest of the way with carrier oil eg. olive oil, grape seed oil, avocado oil. Put on roller top, shake well. Roll up and down their spine and bottom of feet. It works in minutes! Val C ❤🙏🏻

I love seeing your hauls! I’m inspired to beef up my emergency medical kit in the car and the house. A month ago my six year old messed with a in ground wasp nest right by our house and got stung at least seven times. So scary. Mac did a great job. My six year old really complained about the stings (understandably so) even after homeopathic treatment so I did a bentonite clay bath and that seemed to help him a lot.

I agree Mac did a great job!! It's so sad when a little one gets all those stings!! Hard on a mama's heart.

Kirkland Chocolate chips ARE the best!!!! Lol I totally abandoned organic chocolate chips because these tartare soooo much better ( plus we are also a large family…. Of 11) So the chocolate chips fly off the shelves. And the price is right at Costco 😊 also. How do you create lists for a big trip like this? Or do you just shop and get what you see?
@VenisonforDinner Жыл бұрын
Yes I love those Kirkland chocolate chips!! And the price. For a trip like this I create lists for the separate stores I know we are going into. There might be one or two things that are impulse purchases. Like a wee treat at Costco. But mostly I have a list of what we need and stick to it. It's a big enough job that I don't need to get too distracted by shiny objects hahaha

Yes, checking brands at VV means finding good deals. I also skip anything from Walmart or Old Navy, etc. For laundry detergent, have you tried the liquid version from Norwex? I am using the powdered because it’s what I had in hand, but the enzymes in the liquid are better for getting out stains.

Great savings and though you am make most anything, it takes so much time and energy to constantly be cooking, then there are those hunting trips, which will be coming up soon. Bonus on the warm clothing! Winter is coming before you know it. We live in the SE US but in higher elevation so we can get pretty cold here, too. There are not many really nice wool things here so I have to check the thrift stores or go online. Looking forward to your next vid!

I truly adore and relate to how excited you get when you get a bargain, especially when it's something high quality for your family. Also, I live in the states and always hear people rave about Value Village-- I finally went to my first in Ontario and it was fabulous. Also learned that is the same as Savers in the States- although I truly think VV had better stuff!! Enjoy!
@VenisonforDinner Жыл бұрын
Do you feel like your Goodwill in the States is kinda like our VV?? I've heard that comparison.
@jenerbeleggett371 Жыл бұрын
@@VenisonforDinner yes I would say so. I was VERY interested in the comparison as someone who thrifted a ton in our early days as a family and now do as my kids became more interested in late high school- I go about two times a week now for household, kitchen, clothing and more. The biggest difference seemed to be WHO was thrifting-- in Ontario it seemed like a true cross section of people were shopping proudly- while here in the states I still see people looking sheepish or embarrassed to thrift. Very interesting.

If you take a Pepcid or Tagamet at same with the Benadryl, you will get faster uptake of your antihistamine. I keep both on hand in case hubs gets into some shell fish on accident at a restaurant. (Sometimes take-out chicken egg rolls aren’t chicken. 😢) Good luck with the glitter glue…. 😂. I still have glitter glue on the 10 ft ceiling of my dining room from the last project my sons did with glitter glue when they were 6 and 8 (they are now 16 and 18). I have never been able to figure out how they got it up there without getting it anywhere else (and neither of them has ever admitted to anything).
@VenisonforDinner Жыл бұрын
I wonder if we have Pepcid or Tagamet here in Canada?? I'll have to look into that. Yesssss.....I might regret the glitter glue purchase! Sounds like your boys had to work hard to get the glitter up on the ceiling hahaha

I find value village in Courtney a ripoff prices are way too high electrical stuff I keep buying doesn't work last the week in us no good we have a used store in town here that everything is $2 I wish I'd of knowing that before I took all my brand new T shirts into value village so now I take all my stuff that I'm getting rid of to the $2 store because none of my clothes fit me anymore because it's past three years I've put on major weight and most of my T shirts I gave to value villains were all like Jasper and stuff like that brand new never been worn When my daughter told me about this store I went there and got two core drills good size drills for $2 each
@VenisonforDinner Жыл бұрын
I agree, Value Village can be a ripoff but for us here in the north we don't have as many options and they do carry a lot of clothing which is my main concern. I like the sound of your $2 thrift store!!!

I live in Ontario & I find Value Village way too expensive for a thrift store. I have a Salvation army in a town about 20 minutes away from me that does a 50% off sale every season and I can pick up a good winter jacket there for around $5 if I go early before it get's busy. I also have a Bibles for Missions thrift store that's in another town near me but it's a bit further away. They have really cheap stuff, shirts for $2, pants for $3-$5, coats for $5-$10 but again you have to go early before it's all picked over.
@VenisonforDinner Жыл бұрын
Wow you've got some great thrift stores nearby!! We really only have one in our town.
