Hey big fan of the channel, Thank you so much you, It got me thinking I too have a cheap-ometer with the backlight that doesn’t stay on. I was able to modify it by hooking up the backlight screen to a 47uF/10V SMD Tantalum Capacitor so when the multimeter turns on, the backlight turns on as well, I have a video of it on my page

Many Fluke meters don't have true RMS. I bought an $80 dollar meter and had to take it apart and solder unsoldered joints to make it work properly on all functions.
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
Yikes, you had to resolder a Fluke ? 😮
@gordthor5351 Жыл бұрын
@@KeepOnTesting I didn't really make it clear. The $80 meter I had to solder wasn't a Fluke. I was surprised that the cheap Chinese "Fluke" meter has true RMS, while some expensive Fluke meters don't have true RMS.

Awesome review Darren, would you please review DM7504?
@Pro100Gadman Жыл бұрын
Hello Darren. Interesting multimeter. As for me, this is a symbiosis of the 830th (which is confirmed by the board) and some kind of VC61A crossed with the UT33C Unit))) For Canada and the US, $12 is not much, of course. Pennies, rubbish. But to be honest, such a multimeter cannot cost that much. Maximum 6-8$. Thanks for the review, friend)
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
How are you doing! Symbiotic multimeter it is!! Btw it looks like it's also discounted 30% on Amazon now.. so that's about 8-9$ US. A fair price for this little test instrument. Stay safe my friend! Slava Ukraini 👍

Pretty basic, but functional and seems to do the job. Bit of a disappointing LED test, given its fairly high test voltage. Thanks for the review.

Good point. LED test seems to be a showstopper for alot of multimeters..and not just the cheap ones 😀

Good review. The poly fuse is a nice surprise. I can't help but wonder why manufacturers are still installing glass fuses. I would have thought someone would have figured out a way to mount a blade style fuse on a pcb like what are commonly seen on cars.
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
Thx Eric..agreed. Glad to see those self resetting fuses are becoming increasingly common.

Just your basic homeowners meter. For the price It's not bad. Yes it's very similar to an 830 series or 850. Except I think all the ones I have in those series have current shunts. Still though if all you need is something to check a car battery or make sure you turned off the correct breaker this will do the job.
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
I miss the current shunt also..I've seen the current sensing resistors fail after a short time so it's not the best solution..then again I don't think many folks will use this on a high current project.. I hope!

Surprised by the input protection and use of AA batteries...Too bad the battery cover won't last. Thank you for reviewing.

Funny how that battery cover was the least thought out part of the design. 👍

830 with AA's! Could have been all good but then...self tapping screw. The screen font on the box would have been better on the actual meter. It reads amps a good bit off and the rubber "case" as well. But hey, if the price is right it won't hurt to buy a bunch and put some place where it will be useful when time comes!
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
My thinking exactly Rui..at this price it won't hurt!

Even with its shortcomings its a step up from the usual 830's since the 830's have zero ptc's, and the self resetting mA device is a nice touch along with a MUCH bigger display, really a bit too big -- first time ive seen a display that was almost too big for the window, but ya know its WAY bigger than the 830 displays ever were so thats still a positive I guess. If they just tweaked the accuracy into line added a ceramic instead of glass fuse and made the font fit the window a bit better and add a brass screw insert for the battery door it would bring this one into the zone pretty well, ive seen worse for more money.
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
All good 👍 points !! Those 830s are indestructible albeit mediocre they still do the job. That price is vang on top..kudos Venlab for not getting greedy!
