The way Dylan Brock carries on his Father's legacy as the New Venom after Eddie Brock retired of being Venom when he became a old man remains me of the same way that May Watson Parker carried on her Father's legacy as the New Spider-Hero known as Spider-Girl after Peter Parker retired of being Spider-Man when he became a old man.

@@sarov7658 No they're not, lol. The comic isn't affected by the movie and the movie is mostly based on older storylines from the comics. Venom 2 clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Maximum Carnage which is a series from the 90s

Fun fact: For years, we believed Spider-Man was the original Symbiote host, but the comic issue "Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars # 3" reveals the black alien originally bonded with Deadpool. The issue also hints that some of the Symbiote's violent urges may stem from its time with Deadpool;

That actually isn’t correct. Spider-man or Deadpool weren’t the original symbiote host. That was just Deadpool going over a story and making it his own for the sake of comics, he’s done things like that many times before. The comic series where it talks about the venom’s first host was called “Venom: First Host” who was a Kree named Tel-Kar.

That entire retcon was discontinued and ignored by subsequential writers. The Venom symbiote's First Host, as per Mike Costa's First Host storyline, is a veteran from the Kree/Skrull war, Tel-Kar.
