Venom- AliExpress “Knock-Off” Marvel Legends Figure Review

Shout out to stillfigurineout. Another KZbinr that is very knowledgeable in marvel legends knockoffs. I did a lot of research, but his videos were amping my favorite and most straightforward and honest.

you apply transparent nail polish on the loose joints , they will get stiffer (i have the same neca tmnt bootleg i used this trick on them)

As a casual MARVEL Legends collector, this bootleg looks just fine to me. The joints loosen over time on just about any official release so that doesn’t bother me, the cell shading is an acquired taste but I’ve come to appreciate it and to my novice Legends eye it looks about perfect. That’s true man. It happens to all figures at some point. And yea the cell shading can look weird sometimes. But I do like it sometimes. One example is the marvel legends vhs storm, she has some black cell shading but it just makes it look more like the animated series. More comic-ish. Just depends I reckon! Im loving the retro Spiderman card backs, and I love buying two (one to open) so this could be a great option as the opener. @@hyperdrivecollections6460 they are really awesome! Visually appealing and sturdy. The Black Series could learn something from marvel legends when it comes to cardbacks. I would love if TBS had thicker cards like ML. Oh shit! I think you did dude! I might have to do the same! I actually have a few doubles of Black Series figures for that exact reason lol. So I can’t judge at all. 😂😂

I took a risk and ordered a black suit Spiderman, but if it's as good of a ko as this guy, I don't think I'll be upset if all if it is fake. I have so many official MLs that I don't feel bad about having a KO in the crew. Heck I think a lot of the KOs may even come from the same factory.

Hell yea. Symbiote Spider-Man is such a dope costume. I have the actual ML version but was thinking about picking up the KO to do a side by side comparison video. The KOs of black suit spidey iv seen look pretty decent. I’m sure you’re right. I’m sure there are plenty of bootlegs that come from the same exact facility the legit ones are made. A lot of the times they won’t try to resell messed up packaging, figures with a lot of missing paint, ect. There’s plenty of authentic versions from different lines that even have QC issues. Iv had a lot of people suggest the juggernaut and hulk KOs as well. Thinking I may pick them up also. I need a juggernaut for my X-Men shelf BAD! @@TheStonedMandalorian I'll be keeping an eye out for some videos like that if you're able to make them! The only KO I have hands on experience with is an Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech Venom that.... is like 85% of the way there, but loose in a few joints in ways that I can't figure out how to tighten up. He's also very clearly a KO as he's a flat navy instead of the slightly metallic purple the real one is. I shot a video on him eons ago that I should probably re-do. The Spider-Man I ordered I honestly have no idea if it's a KO or not, as it's from Ebay. I know I've bought a few figures on there before that seemed too good to be true but.... were actually true, so we'll see what happens. lol

@@ArcNeoMasato that revoltech venom is such a great looking figure! At some point or another all figures are gonna loosen up over time anyways. As long as it doesn’t affect it from being possible, no biggy. Il have to check out your channel and look for that one. I’d be interested in watching that. You should totally do a new one too tho! Il check it out for sure!

@@TheStonedMandalorian For this guy it sadly does limit how well he poses, since he's a VERY topheavy figure, and it's the torso joint that's loose, and it's one of those weird Revoltech ratchet joints, but.... worse. lol I know I COULD get replacement joints from the official company and change it out, but a baggy of those joints costs more than the figure did, almost double. lol

@@ArcNeoMasato lol damn well that’s a bummer. Now you just need to set him up against a wall or part of your shelf or something. The ratchet joints are nice but once they wear out they are floppy lol. And whoa really?? That’s wild. I’m not knowledgeable on other import brands but I still dig them. But I had no idea the replacement parts (which is dope you can get) are just as pricey as the figures themselves. 👀👀

What are the holes on his shoulders for?

@@kalobhunt9001 I believe it’s reuse from another figure of a character called Hyperion (not very familiar with him). His back has holes in the sculpt to fit on his cape securely to his back. Might even be from one of the other venom figures that has wings with it. I forget which one that was but I think it’s due to reuse of the Hyperion body.

@@kalobhunt9001 yoo! I was wrong about the Hyperion body. That’s not what it is actually. I did some more research and I actually found out it’s from another mold used for Omega Red. This retro carded version was in production at the same time as the omega red redeco release. So that’s the true reason for the holes in the back. Would have been cool if they did some extra symbionts tendrils or something to plug in with it. Or even just some molded pegs to fill the holes in at least.

I was just a little mixed up. There IS another version of venom that DOES use the older Hyperion body. But it’s not for the retro version of Venom. Just wanted to clear that up because I was wrong and I don’t like to give out false info! But now we both know the true reason!
