THANK YOU! So nice to see a skate shop finally making a QUALITY video. Great audio. Great editing. Great cinematography. Well-spoken on camera. Excellent job. Heck, if more folks created clips as professional as yours, I wouldn't have had to make all the skate videos I've done! Kudos to you all.

@weneedecolution Take off your kingpin, place a bushing on the underside of your hanger (boardside) and the other roadside, then put the kingpin back in. It's very easy to figure out, just take apart your truck and remember the order that you did it, grab the new bushings and put it back together.

the standard is a good option, you can't go wrong if you're doing a variety of freeriding. If you're really focused on hard carving then go with the supercarves, otherwise you'll be more comfortable with the standards if you're doing slides and stuff. Do a pack of 90a downhill and 85a supercarves and then split them between your trucks so you end up with a standard pack of split duros

It might feel odd, but not to weird. Since there is a combination of durometers there, the two will somewhat balance each other out. The board will feel more like it is running a bushing with red venom or a durometer in between the two.

@SeCreSyy I would suggest 85a Barrels all around for a stable setup and for a more agile setup I would suggest 85a cones roadside and 85a barrels boardside. Remember no cup washers! only flat washers!

It really comes down to personal preference. I weigh 155 and like the resistance that harder bushings give you through turns. I run a green barrel bottom and red barrel top for DH. Harder bushings also keep you in your center point easier than softer bushings, which makes it more stable.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
i would say that you would like the yellow and orange elims if you want want to stay around a similar feel but you could also step it up a red barrel bottom and yellow elim top
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 жыл бұрын
@skimboardable that is a really good question, when I get in to the shop tomorrow I will test that. My guess is that you will have no problem with fitting supercarves on crails due to the cone, roadside Check out the new SHR's, to have 40% more rebound and are selling like hotcakes.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
that's a hard question since usually a bushing that carves hard won't be particularly stable and vice versa. A good bushing setup that will be decent at both would be a red barrel bottom with red top, or maybe the new purple (87a) barrel bottom with a yellow barrel top.
@MotionBoardshop

@MrANGEL0115 The new 2011 Bears come with Green 81a Venom Barrels that are made just for Bear trucks. They are great bushings and are just like a orange venom barrel but a different color.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
If you want a hard bushing that still has a wide range of motion I'd give green barrels a shot. If you like the restriction of an eliminator try out a yellow; something soft that allows for a lot of compression to negate the restrictive shape. If you like a softer feel with a lot of rebound, red barrels should also work well for ya.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 14 жыл бұрын
Orange standards or yellow standards, depending on fast you want to be going. Orange is for slower riding, yellow if you want faster.

@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
The yellows are really good Especially if you keep the old bushings you can have multiple combinations of bushings but i would say that a standard set of yellow 85a venoms would be really smart to toss into the board.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
Yep. They work well for high-speed carving and decently for DH or freeriding. A pretty versatile setup depending on your weight.

@skataboyjake yup. the red barrel bottom and yellow barrel top gives you a really nice adjustable feeling truck. nice and turny when they're loose but they also are mad stable when you crank em down.
@chubeviewer
@chubeviewer 12 жыл бұрын
@LongboardingIsALife you should get an 81a barrel boardside, and an 81a cone roadside, it gives you carvyness of the cone, and the stability of a barrel, and its a great bushing durometer to match your weight.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 жыл бұрын
@SkatersFuture I would slap some 81a Orange Venom standards on there. With the standard pack you get the best of both worlds in stability and response. Not to mention bears have a pretty restrictive bushing seat as it is, so you'll be stable enough for some light hill bombin'.

@MyWoody26 You can run no washer on the bottom and be just fine, but a washer roadside is very important, otherwise the nut on your truck will eat away at the 85a bushing.
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
Ya that sounds like it would work fine. Make sure to try out some different washers for when you downhill or freeride. Cup washers, flat washers, and small flat washers make a huge difference in how your board feels and how your bushings work.

There is nothing wrong with khiros, we have gotten better results from venoms. It is unquestionable that Venom bushings have a much better rebound and return-to-center than khiro, which is preferable in most occassions. You may have set up your eliminators wrong; it is important to include a washer with them to ensure that they have full contact with hanger. The washer is placed between the baseplate and the bushing (boardside) or the bushing and the kingpin head (roadside).
@MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 13 жыл бұрын
@Sontompa Fits them all differently because of the different designs in the bushing seat, but yes they fit em all.

@Tarzan07330 hey Tarzan, yes barrels would be the way to go, but the eliminator's would be nice, especially board side, and then run a barrel roadside. @MotionBoardshop
@MotionBoardshop 15 жыл бұрын
I've given the khiros a shot with the inserts and still found the return to center to be a bit lacking. It's pretty universally agreed upon that venoms are substantially more reboundy. But to each his own; as long as it works for you, that's all that matters. I am wondering if it is because you tried such a restrictive style of venom. 93a eliminators are going to feel stiff and limiting to your range of motion if you weigh anything less than 250 lbs.

what kind of board are you riding? If you are looking to do some carving, I think blue cones are a nice way to go. If you're looking to do some DH, I'd go with the Christmas set up, green barrels board side, red barrels road side. It's a favorite of Nate's!

Are they the newest generation of grizzlies or the older ones? The newer ones have a deeper bushing seat than the older ones and can work with khiros whereas the older grizzlies have a shallower bushing seat which causes the bushings to pop out. If they are the older ones I only recommend using an eliminator or JimZ, something with a large footprint, to keep the bushing in place. If you are particular to Khiro, then go for it, but I highly recommend venom bushings.

Hey guys, before asking exactly what bushing you should get for your weight, I'd recommend watching the video first and getting a feel for it. Recommendations we make on bushings for you specifically, are relatively moot. I can help you "ballpark" your choices, but in the end, figuring out what bushings are best for you comes from EXPERIENCE with different bushings. I, for example, like to DH on stiffer bushings than other people, what I'd recommend for DH might not be what YOU like.

@WakemanWheels You won't get the same feel out of bushings as you will springs. I've found that the springs have a snappier feel, where the bushings are a smoother rebound. I run supercarves in a set of 50 degree Randals, and the handling compares pretty well to most of the original setups. Bottom line though, You can't replicate springs with bushings, and vice versa.

@maxmaddude bushings arent going to make you go faster, its just that the downhill bushings have less spead wobble. super carve bushings will just make it easier to turn. if you want to use super carves while still bombing hills, I would recomend the 93a board side and the 90a road side.
