Oh no, Dan! You used it slightly wrong! You're not supposed to fill his chest, you're supposed to fill the plunger part, then you press the "button" on the back of the plunger in to make Venom shoot the slime! I remember mine actually got pretty good distance! I hope you can maybe try again and show us the results!

[Insert pop culture reference] Oh no, that's the exact same one I used to have as a kid. If you look, the plunger for his back, actually does press in (and doing so pushes the little button out). Then you fill that cavity with slime, and push the button, the figure shoots the slime. It's kinda hard to explain. I do know exactly what figure you're talking about, though. That one came with a red squirter that you filled with water and then plugged it into Venom to shoot. Both figures were pretty much exactly the same, just one had the slime and one had the water. Not sure why Peter Hardy is blasting me over calling the obviously black slime Dan used in this review slime. Just because the original was no good anymore, doesn't mean Dan couldn't go out and get more black slime from somewhere else. Maybe he's mad because the black "Ooze" Dan substituted wasn't "officially" called slime? I dunno.

The part that comes out of Venoms back is where you are supposed to put the slime. If you push back into the back part when it is removed it reveals a space for the slime and a thin button comes out the back. Then then you place it back in his body full of slime it doesn't make a mess around the back and fits in neater. You then push the thin botton in and it makes the slime come out of his chest better. This was my first Venom toy so I played with it a lot! Still got the black ooze in the gray spider but it's gone too hard to use.

I have not found black slime anywhere but I am keeping an eye out for both the figurine and replacement slime because VENOM is one of my favorite characters. With the release of the film, had to revisit this.

I had that. The spider.container split eventually and if you handled the black slime long enough your hands turned purple. Good times, good times. You're supposed to fill the "plunger" you removed then once installed, press the "button".

I totally used to have this figure as a kid, but I dropped him during one of his many battles with Spider-Man, and upon impact with the floor he ended up shattering into pieces. Though if I remember correctly, your replacement slime is too thick - the slime that came with Venom had a thinner consistency to begin with, so the plunger would squirt the ooze a further distance instead of just dripping a thick strand of slime out of his chest.

unfortunately I haven't found a dollar store that carries the slime around here. What they should've done was, had a slime portal in them of and one in either shoulder area as well as the one in the chest. Unfortunately, the Toy biz figures of that era tended to be pretty cheaply made from my respectiveso I'm literally surprised it's not even that hole in the chest.
