@Pixel Dan One thing that I do not know if you looked into on this playset, but if you look at the molding all over the set, the tray and the Slime/egg sack on top and sides, you will see cocooned people all over, their heads, and entire bodies, even a Facehugger on the top hatch. If you would paint it grey to customize it you will be shocked to see these molded in the playset. It is so cool :)

Well actually me and a few KZbin users have a theory that that Queen was actually supposed to be the Gorilla Alien Queen from the comics. Coz if you look at them side by side; they both have similar headcrests, two pairs of large arms, tiny hands coming out their chests, three toed feet and long tails..

@@evanmiller2562 Well that's because the gorilla queen is based on the "original" queen xenomorph from Aliens just with some slight differences. Honestly the comic gorilla queen still looks different than the figure.

You have to attach the Queen correctly for tail trapping to work.I have it and it worked for me. The notch would catch the tail when you turn the ooze dropper and trap the figure just right.

Nah, I followed the instructions exactly, and the stalagmite was just too short to hook the tail-spine. I ended up taking some black Super Sculpey and making the stalagmite a bit longer, and now it works like a charm.

In the commercials I remember it always showed this queen trapping a predator with her tail and it worked great so that may be why it goes over Ripleys head

Great nostalgia blast! Thank you ! This is a great set, and I still have mine, but I had to modify it slightly, because the "stalagmite" which is supposed to hook onto onto a tail spine and make the queen's tail whip around was too short to make it work like it was supposed to.

on Kenners part, the hatchhlings don't come from the eggs, the face huggers do, and then use a human host to produce an alien

These toys were made for an unreleased show called OPERATION Aliens. There are screenshots from the show and a lot of the Aliens merchandise from this line in 92-93 has the Operation Aliens logo on it.

The hatchling is funny because the facehuggers come out of the eggs. They lay eggs in people that the Alien hatchlings come out of.

Yeah, that kind of surprised me when this first came out, because the mini comics with other toys acknowledged the chest bursting aspect. So I figured they wanted eggs in the play set and just used an open one as its hiding place. The face hugger from that egg is actually sculpted on the top of the egg sack, so I think they intended for the egg to just be a hiding place.

When I was a kid I had Drake. I recently bought Ripley for pretty cheap from this line. Trying to find this playset is very costly from what I can see ha ha. I want the power loader for Ripley even though it's not accurate. Gotta give a badass lady a badass accessory ha ha. Crazy that you did this video 7 years ago. The ooze probably could have stayed sealed but at least you had backup ha ha. It's funny the queen has heels ha ha.

She's a little short because this was at the Aliens vs Predator era and this may have been more for the Predator's height. Plus that's an original aliens figure, the playset was a later one.
