They are technically street legal although you do have to have at least a class 7 learners license which means if you're 16 and have your learners, you can operate the vehicle. The vehicle must also be registered and insured, since it is considered a LSM (Limited Speed Motorcycle) although don't worry about insurance costing much. I live in British Columbia and insurance for this bike is only about $35 a month. To get it registered and insured you must have the proper documents, ID, etc. A bit of a lengthy process, but it only took me a day to get this all set up and running. If you choose not to register, license and insure, just be wary of police and try staying on roads that aren't frequently used. IMO you shouldn't have to go through all this bullshit registration and people should just be told to stay in the bike lane.

With mine, I was able to reach 60mph without much of an issue. Mind you I am using 94 Octane and high-quality 10W-40 engine lubricant. One of my other buddies upgraded his with the 100cc big bore kit and his went around 80mph which is pretty crazy considering the price of these things.
