@@neganrex5693 Well, the issue is that the US has to answer to a lot of other countries and have to play politics with those countries. Even though the US could show all the evidence it needs to point out how grave a threat is to the planet (other than just simply national security for the US). It could be that countries like Russia or China are backing the threat and REALLY do not want the US to find out. Yet the threat they are backing could bite back at them and do them just as much harm. Now most times this does not seem to be the case with the UFP. Being that all the members are in agreement with defending their homes and the other UFP members. Even going so far as to agree to a...majority to assist in defending or aiding allies of the UFP. So the UFP do not have to play the same political game as the US. After all. Doesn't look good if a UFP member is caught aiding an enemy of the UFP. Unlike the US who just have to deal with so many independent nations and all of them have their own goals for control.

Those involved as will as those not involved will see the light and learn not to screw with you or bad things will happen on their world. Just ask the founders. The founders found their are beings out their you should not screw with and the UFP learned you need war ships and lots of them if you are going to make your self known and remain being peace loving space hippies without being looked at as bully magnets. Just wait until the anti-Borg roll into mass production. Also the waiting until after the 1st battle of DS9 was the smart move as it helps the UFP in the propaganda front of the war. Another fantastically awesome and brilliantly magnificent tale of the dominion war. Beautifully showcasing just marvellously badass Starfleet can be when it, has the best of the best in ships and men at their disposal, (its anti borg task force, a pure battle fleet atits heart) and are ably and well led on a tactical level to go toe to toe with their most dangerous enemies and give them a bloody nose. Interesting question posed at the end and have to say that I see the opening battles of the war as an overall tactical win for starfleet in not only denying the enemy its key logistic supply lines and inflicting heavy damage on its infrastructure, while falling back to concentrate and mobilise its strength to fully be ready to face the enemy in a war of attrition. While even allowing for the dominions initial conquests, which over stretched their resources and left them vulnerable to eventual counterattacks.

Another excellent video! One gripe though. If the Cardassians have fusion technology analogous to the Federation, why would they need solar arrays? I mean, compared to fusion, solar power would be mere peanuts, only really able to power relatively small systems like life support perhaps. Unless the solar arrays amount to, at the very least, many hundreds of square kilometers with near 100% efficiency, they wouldn't be much use and extremely vulnerable. Such a vast set of arrays would require similarly vast amounts of materials that would have been better put to use in making a relatively small number of fusion generators that could due the same work in a far more defensible package.

@lanebowles81703 жыл бұрын
@@JackMoore0311 You are correct in that Fusion power requires fuel and solar does not (not counting the fact that solar is fusion and "burns" hydrogen, albeit naturally). However, let us consider the probable fuel fusion reactors in Star Trek are implied to use, deuterium. Is deuterium rare? Star Trek seems to contradict itself with episodes of Voyager, one leading the audience to believe deuterium is rare and yet in another Tom Paris states "you can find it anywhere". So what about real life, is deuterium rare? No, not really. Uncommon yes, but not really rare. Where there is protium hydrogen one is sure to find deuterium hydrogen, though the concentration of deuterium in protium varies. Earth has a concentration of one deuterium atom out of 6,500 of hydrogen atoms. Mars has a concentration five to six times that of Earth and even greater concentrations have been detected on certain asteroids. So while deuterium may be diffuse, it is not rare and only requires basic refining technology (technology we already possess in real life) to enrich it. Then there is the fact that we can actually make deuterium in nuclear reactors today as well, though it is not economical. However, if they can make antimatter and have replicator technology in Star Trek, then surely they can make deuterium, though enriching it from a source of hydrogen is probably much more energy efficient even if fusion should grant energy to spare. So, I could accept that solar energy was being used to refine deuterium from hydrogen sources originating on planets, asteroids, comets, and gas giants, but I still find it a considerable stretch. Why? I reiterate, compared to direct fusion, solar power is mere peanuts.

@@lanebowles8170 well im considering that the cardassian infrastructure was completely destroyed so not only getting a refining fuel would be hard but even transporting it might be difficult. I also know that solar in space offers a much better return than solar on the ground and is much faster and easier to construct. I think the solar was an immediate step and eventually they would have moved to more powerful and compact power sources

@@JackMoore0311 If the Cardassian infrastructure was completely destroyed then how did they build the solar arrays in the first place? It doesn't matter if solar in space is faster and easier to construct if there is no infrastructure to construct them in the first place. If DS9 stated that the Cardassian infrastructure was completely destroyed, then it would have to have been a hyperbolic statement made to relay to the audience the severity of the Cardassian's plight and shouldn't be taken too literally as it would be the creator's artist impression. You say that "not only getting a refining fuel would be hard but even transporting it might be difficult", yet the Cardassians are being supplied by the Dominion. Even if the technologies between the Cardassians and the Dominion were so different as to prevent the Dominion from directly replacing Cardassian industrial components and only supplying raw materials, deuterium is little more than raw material and a single tanker-full could supply thousands of gigawatts of power. Now you are right about solar power, more even for reasons other than you may have had. Solar power is four times better in space than on Earth as there is no atmosphere to get in the way among other things. However, with our single G-type star that doesn't amount to much. However, the Torros system is a binary of an A and B-type stars which have luminosities 20 and 1,000 times greater than our Sun respectively. With this taken into account (and if my limited understanding of physics and astronomy is roughly correct) even at distances of 6 AU (further than the orbit of Jupiter) a square kilometer of solar arrays with 100% capture and transmission of energy would generate nearly 40 megawatts of power as opposed to our solar system in which such an array wouldn't produce even 40 kilowatts of power. My apologies to you and Venom Geek Media 98 on that oversight.

Serious question why didn’t all the ships line up as far as they could and then bombard all ships and shipyards with like over 100 quantum torpedos. This is where everything gets confusing. They say torpedoes don’t work well against ship shields but I’m sure a storm of 100 quantum torpedos would be hard to deal with I mean 25 ships that’s a minimum of 1000 torpedos I mean fire alll them then follow the torpedos in on a strafing run. Have the Norway’s in front with their phaser lances which were suppose to be like both cutters and the other ships behind. This goes for any battle really.

I still wish that they would do a new show that takes place during the Dominion War
