Such a beautiful snake. Here in India our common encounter is with kraits and Indian cobras mostly. Once we had Cape Cobra hidden in haystack. Very rarely they are found here and it was darker than this. Very aggressive and highly venomous.
@LivingZoology4 жыл бұрын
It is extremely beautiful! Yes, in India you have many Spectacled cobras and kraits, also Russell's vipers. But you don't have Cape cobras there. Check this film from India: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5jGhmN5odqGprs

@@LivingZoology aah yes Russell's viper too...here we call it Chenathandan in local language which means the stem of purple yam. As it bulky and looks much like a root or a stem on the ground. Mostly bites are accidental stepping and tissue decay is a serious effect. Anyways keep up the good work and God bless 🙏

Beautiful - thanks. It seems strange that the cobra’s colour contrasts so strongly with its habitat.

Thank you!!! It is probably an adaptation to the heat (having as light color as possible) as these snakes are diurnal and you can see them out during amazingly hot weather. Also, it should be an adaptation to the habitat but as you say, more orange color would be better. Evolution is not perfect.
