The motif of "Freedom" belongs to Mondstadt, and each nation, unironically, is in need of it. It's why each 5-star Anemo character outside of Mondstadt is pivotal to the plot of each nation (Xiao, Kazuha, Wanderer), and why we started in Mondstadt. Not to mention, each archon we've encountered thus far requires a sense of Freedom as well. The Traveler brings that "wind" with them to each nation, introducing a release from bindings. Cultural bindings, personal expectations, work bindings, grief, family tradition...The Traveler questions these, and if they make life suffer, The Traveler decides to help do away with these things if they're not what someone wants. As an outsider, the Traveler is the only one capable of fully looking at things objectively. I think Fontaine will be the most difficult nation to bring a sense of Freedom to. Maybe a "Not Guilty" verdict will suffice, haha. But I say all this because I feel Venti's second chapter will come when we truly understand what Freedom has done to Teyvat---in a good or bad way.

This is true now that fontaine is out, although no anemo characters in sight, I think "freedom" is mentioned way mush there. Fontaine's fight for freedom of sin, furina's freedom from her role of archon, point is freedom is something somehow yearned for in fontaine which I think makes up for breaking the 5 star pivotal anemo character motifs of fontaine as seen how focalors, and by proxy furina, fought fate themselves for the freedom of her nation

Well, she mentioned dornman port which connects dandelion sea with mondstadt (maybe) and maybe that sea is the closest to the dark sea, which is a different continent, i guess? We're going to get massive lores and points after Fontaine in Natlan I think because vennessa was originally from there. And the connection of fatui with diluc's father, and the secret organisation who hired diluc there's so much content left and how can we forget mare jivari, a domain where benny got lost or something and real Stanley died there it's known as sea of ashes 🧍‍♂️ they're hiding too much things.

With how long its been without Venti's 2nd story quest, I'm very certain it'll have something to do with either celestia or Istaroth. Every other archon already has a 2nd quest that explores more of their and their nation's history. I'm guessing they're waiting until they properly introduce Istaroth in the archon quests, or at least when we're supposed to get a deeper understanding of her for the quest. They're no strangers to requiring us finishing a character's story before advancing the archon quest.

Mondstadt is ngl one of the best 'show not tell' game regions I've ever seen, chilling near places like City of Tears (did i get that right?) like hollow knight and many others. I personally don't know much about game storytelling, I'm more of a literature/movie guy, but Mondstadt gave me the same feels as for example, reading chainsaw man after finishing so many shounen. Chainsaw Man hit differently for me, and even though I've never played much games before genshin, I can very much apply the same to gamers and Mondstadt/Genshin.

Man. I'm just waiting for more Jean lore. She really just feels like a political figurehead for Mondstadt right now; we haven't gotten to explore her since 1.6 and even then that event felt like filler in terms of character development. I love Jean and I want more of her past to be presented in the story in a significant way.

It's aggravating how few Story Quests actually go into that level of detail.

We get informations regarding mondstadt slowly, bits by bits. The ever calm, warm and windy first region is actually a ticking bomb of lore, I'm pretty sure of that. When I finished the mondstadt archon quest back in 1.0 the thought that we may come back here for the grand finale pops up in my head and the idea grows even more now.

- Venti’s 2nd Story Quest - In Zhongli’s Story Quest 1 and 2, we learn about the God of Salt, Havria, as well as the Geo Dragon King Azhdaha. Both of these individuals were significantly parts of an older era within Liyue. In Ei’s Story Quests, she accustoms herself to present day Inazuma, First by walking around, and Secondly by thinking over her ideal of Eternity. Nahida’s Story Quest, the first one we had encountered a Dream Scheme that Nahida wanted to take care of, since it troubled the people of Sumeru. In the second one, she helped Apep, who was in trouble from the removal of Forbidden Knowledge. Venti’s one and only Story Quest is about a friend who out of grief takes the identity of their fallen friend, and tries to continue their legacy, this unfortunate situation reminded Venti about his own personal situation. So perhaps his next Quest will be of the same? An unfortunate situation taking place somewhere, that will remind Venti about his own personal situation.

Coming from the 4.0 future, I believe this will definitely be the case, and will happen in Fontaine. Based on Furina’s line that she’ll even judge a god, I believe Venti is the most likely visitor to come to Fontaine and somehow get wrapped up in some trouble that will remind him of an incident like that

One silly personal theory I have is that Venti's second quest will feature the dandelion sea and kitsunes. After all, we know that kitsunes aren't native to Inazuma; they must have come from somewhere in mainland Teyvat and I think Mondstadt is a good candidate, considering that Venti is known for talking with animals

One thing I want to know about Mondstadt is the forbidden door of library. According to Favonius Codex lore, it has been there even before the construction of library and had been intact through the great fire. And you know Enjou said something about burning library...

I would really like Venti's 2nd story quest to be at the Temple of the Dragon, yet another obfuscated Mondstadt location with Lisa saying to Jean "well you know why we can't go there", would be a good oportunity for some lore and random a Dain appearance.

Mondstadt's irrelevance to the story so far has been very frustrating on top of a character like Varka being seemingly very important but we get almost no information about him. Then there's stuff like Dragon Spire and the corrupted statue. This drip feed of story has been a huge detriment for Mondstadt as a whole just for being the first region.

Well, I don't know what the meaning of "relevant to the story" But so far, Mondstad is the only region which had the most relevant character and lore to the main story Like: 1. Hexenzirkle 2. Istaroth 3. Nibelungenlied (the legend of the ring of Nibelung, Nibelung is dragon king, Alberich and Rhine maiden has an important role in that legend, Alberich = Kaeya, Rhine maiden = rhine daughter= rhinedottir, so even the dragon king has more connection to characters around mondstad) 4. Albedo, the one who mentioned in the dainsleif prophecy about the next cataclysm that may happen and his relation with Gold 5. Is it strange that Venti is the only archon who has the lore spread through every region so far? 6. Monstad is the only region which has the most connection to every single main lore such as abyss, Celestia, Rhinedottir, khaenriah, fatui, Hexenzirkle, primordial One and their shade Other region chara only mind their own business and are rarely relevant to main lore except for Archon And other archon's lore just spread in their region while Venti's lore spread throughout every nation.

Though that’s what makes Mondstat a great “prologue.” It’s not even its own official act hence the irrelevance, it introduces players to fantasy aspects they’re familiar with to get them into the story as well as being the best place to start. Like imagine not getting our gliders? Or being thrown into a civil war off the bat?

I think its just that getting each nation out, one per year, is amongst the biggest priorities by the devs, and any other treatments (save for obvious ones like Keep Liyue/China Important), is more optional. They will schedule out a varying national emphasis each year, but they can't do everything. Even as the 'Teyvat Chapter' ends in a few years, there may be up to a few years of filling out more things, building up into a potential 2nd main story. But there may be some relief. I really do think Mondstadt will be the 2nd to 3rd biggest emphasis in the next year (so not counting 5.0 Natlan, but before that). It'll be for relevance order: Fontaine's focus, Mondstadt expansion, Liyue inclusion, Sumeru recency, and not fogetting Inazuma (though I'd love a big expansion of it in 2025). Then Mondstadt content will go sleepy for a while longer until around/just before/after Teyvat Chapter's end. But I think we'll get that big bump: northern Mondstadt, Dornman Port, Venti's Quest/Weekly Boss, world boss(es), etc. My personal hope is a polish pass of Prologue/Mondstadt related content because it does have some bugs/localization issues, and ideally we'd get a grind nerfing of anything old having to do with Mondstadt. They almost never do that lol but I would appreciate it, and it would help new players more easily set up those old characters if they want to play them. EDIT: I can see addressing Dragonspine more significantly in between the bigger waves. Don't know to what extent, but I don't believe we're totally done with that dead dragon, and it would technically count as Mondstadt content if they did an underground Dragonspine map, or whatever. Still, not as big as other stuff that may come, but could keep us busy in between.

Ultimately I do think part of Mondstadt's "problem" that part of the function of Mondstadt is "a tutorial island". Lore and story-wise, it is supposed to be "hub" where you get from here to there from it. - My "hunch" about Mondstadt is that "the final chapter" will take place there: Venti will have the way to get to both Celestia and Khaenri'ah where the key is that it involves a trick of time traveling. - I suspect we'll get a "Hexenzirkel" Quest involving Klee, Mona, and Albedo. There is no real evidence for this but I think it would be a fun story about how "the kids" have to something their predecessors should have done or failed to do. This allows some character growth and lore exploration!

Per the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview, the last official Chapter ??? (7?): "The Dream Yet to be Dreamed" is stated to be in Khaenri'ah. The location for the gates to Khaenri'ah are now know. I think a Mondstadt's expansion is more likely as part of Chapter 6: "Everwinter Without Mercy". The area of Mondstadt adjacent to Snezhnaya. Note, an Epilogue is implied that will take place at "The Sea of Flowers at the End' with the Traveler as the feature character. This could be in Celestia.

Venti part 2 probably will have something to do with whatever is submerged under Cider Lake, or maybe that would be Klee's story since she's the one who bombed Stormbearer Mountains, causing the peak to collapse and dam the river, flooding the entire Mondstadt area Klee's terraforming is probably also why Dornman Port has to be rerouted and hard to access, she is single handedly gatekeeping all the lore and exploration in Mondstadt, can't wait for Klee to reunite with Alice, it will be a giant lore drop.

Qiaoying Village, which is inside Chenyu Vale, should most likely be released next update in version 3.8 as it is the border between Liyue and Fontaine and should house our introduction quest to Fontaine. Like how we had the Inazuma prologue quest with Kazuha and Beidou take place in Guyun Stone Forest in Liyue. I also imagine that Chenyu Vale will serve as our "summer region" instead of the Golden Apple Archipelago as I can't imagine they would release both in the same update and it seems Chenyu Vale seems more likely to release than not. I believe Mondstadt will get expanded upon much later in the future. My guess is it will happen after Natlan releases and before Snezhnaya. It should serve the same purpose as Chenyu Vale but this time for Snezhnaya instead of Fontaine. Dornman Port will most likely be included in this expansion. This is all my speculation though. I have not seen any leaks and I don't plan on it.

@@Melotaku Per *spoiler* leaks, the Version 3.8 summer region is in the desert in a place called "Veluriyam Mirage". The limited location map, events, expected characters, skins, and quests are known. Perhaps between Sumeru and Fontain near Version 3.6 OR Natlan to the west. Chenyu Vale (and Qiaoying Village) could still be release somewhere in 4.X.

That mission with the stolen inverted statue was what sold me to continue learning this game's lore and keep playing. . The spooky build-up from the whole dungeon up to that point when you find the statue was pretty shocking in contrast with the first impression of a fun, colorful fantasy world vibes the game gives. . And I'm still waiting for the day we get those answers.

I’m still confused by Teyvat’s geography. The Four Winds don’t line up with how we view the map. Why do Mond, Liyue, and Inazuma use the Northlander billets when Sumeru is geographically more north than Inazuma?

I have a theory about Venti's 2nd story quest that we are going to travel to the past back in old mondstadt. We'd meet spirit venti and also his friend (meaning a venti skin👀). It would explain why venti remembers us in that one voice line while we don't. Knowing mondstadt's connection to the god of time, a quest where we timetravel is not far from possible

Aster, i'm so glad that i clicked fast on the video because i wanted to bring up a topic, in Traveller's voiceline: About Teyvat, they talk for a moment about how they wonder if the stars in Teyvat could ALSO TELL PEOPLES FATES, when i saw that i was like "wait a minute, something's not right" because we usually think that the stars of Teyvat can see the future because the sky is fake and all of that, but with this voiceline, it makes everything more confusing, anyway, i just wanted to spill the tea about this voiceline because it is super sus, there are also other super sus voicelines of Traveller and Paimon like in one of the voicelines Paimon says that she would rather to be the father that creates things than being it's child, i know it may just be a coincindence but at this point we should be at alert for any information, specially when it is about Traveller and Paimon

I've always assumed Dornman Port will be the last location we get before entering Snezhnaya. It would be a somewhat poetic way to bring the Traveler's journey back to where it began before entering the last nation of Teyvat.

The video covers something slightly different, but the where of Mondstatd seems just as important as *what the purpose of Mondstatd in the present is (Is it the City of Freedom because it is like a guard at the gates somehow keeping trouble contained?).

For me Mondstadt story still feels very rich and complex, it was a lot more comprehensible in comparison to Liyue and Inazuma because of how deep their lore is hidden in some books, places in the open world, in quests that I sometimes didn’t get to do yet & Mond at least got everything very straightforward. Though most likely I experience it this way only because of events always making sure everyone remembers Mond 😅

The falcon is Venessa after ascending to Celestia The lion is whoever holds the title of the dandelion knight. Currently, it is Jean. Venessa was also the lion at some point since that was her title

The Lion and Falcon is both Venessa title (Jean story Quest) Venessa got the Lion title first when she founded KoF then got the Falcon title after she go to Celestia. But KoF can also be the Lion since KoF symbol is a Lion

Vennessa is an unknown, but Mondstadt has faith that she watches over them in Celestia or elsewhere, possibly kept in falcon form. And currently, we know Varka is on a mysterious expedition, Jean continues in capacity as acting Grandmaster, and the Knights were assisted by the Traveler and a covert Barbados/Venti to soothe Dvalin and help return him to protective duty.

But the Lion symbolism can be viewed as their tribute to who she was on the ground as a mortal, just as they are as citizens. Falcon symbols are used to represent the 'divine' winds, but lion symbols for the 'common' protectors. Then seemingly, wolf symbols for the patrol of the wilds, and dragon for the upper skies. KoF are still the Falcon because they're her heightened legacy compared to her singular past, which the Dandelion Knight can personally act as.

Agree at first I thought it's because he was affected by the abyssal corruption when he fought durin but he was asleep before that too right? The timeline is really clunky since Dain said he saw him 500 years ago but Venti was asleep for a thousand years before he met us so..🤔

I wanna open the gates of the arena of Thousand Winds Temple! I was just wondering, has anybody ever theorized about what the island near the starting point of the game is? That island that doesn´t appear on the map whcih holds a single Anemoculus... I like looking at it from Starsnatch Cliff. Is the Mare Jivari part of Mondstat? It definitely seems quite important to the nation considering the emphasis it’s citizens place on it as the land where the wind doesn’t blow. Definitely want to visit or get more lore on that. Also I believe Venti’s 2nd story quest will be in Fontaine, as of all the archons he’s the one most likely to travel and visit it, and if Furina is ever gonna judge another Archon, it’s most likely going to be Venti, and the Archon quest will be about a trial involving him and give some insight on some past event

Man, i remember when the thing with the fake Albedos happened it felt like theud be returning to that plot point of Albedo and dragonspine every winter, because at the time qe foolishly believed that Hoyo was going to not drop plot threads left and right like it turned out they would. Im not just talking about this plot thread but many many not even brought up in this video, this was also around the time tjat Zhongli's second quest came out and while it felt a little odd that he git a sequel before Venti it didnt seem too off if Venti's was coming soon. It felt like things started but not finished would consistently progress even as new areas with their own stories were opened up. But that just stopped happening not long after this point, the archons (except Venti) getting a second story turned out to be a way to get a regions second trounce domain and in Inazuma and Sumeru seems to be more about introducing new worldbuilding than developing the lingering ones like erosion in Liyue's story, and even going back to the golden apple archipelago had nothing to do with the last time we were there and it all just feels like Hoyo is aining for going full steam ahead, never mind what falls off the train and gets left behind from how fast theyre moving

on the topic of Venti Story Quest part 2, I would expect a lore drop about the time after Decarabian's fall leading to the initial couple of centuries of New Mondstadt where Istaroth and Venti co-ruled the place. That way we get some potential Dragonspine+Mondstadt nobility lore (because of the climate changes of both Mondstadt and Dragonspine), Istaroth lore, and some further timeline placement explanation.

@ChillwithAster I would point ot that Sucrose is character with possible deep lore but is on purpose made to be just said by fans as and that Shy introverted Girl but there is a voiceline that peeks first Suspision in me which is her voiceline about her ears which is "(...) fMy ears are a hereditary feature... quite different from everyone else's. So, I try to hide them with my hair as much as possible." but if you think it isn't enough of point of her being actually important to the unkown lore then Look at Keaya's and Jean's voicelines about her as well as her Constellation where I noticed in place where it would be something like corks but the thing is istead of corks there is a Star just like Star in Kaeya's eyes or Albedo's neck isn't it strange perhaps?

with all of Mondstadt's mysteries taking more place, i'm expexting to see a whole new big update, something like "Mondstadt v.2" to be released one day. In the Genshin trailer, every nation is given a number (Mondstadt : Prologue, Litie : Chapter I, Inazuma Chapter II, etc. etc.) but not Khaenri"ah, without a number. I wouldn't be surprised now to the Traveler coming back at Mondstadt before getting to Khaenri'ah, since it's the nation we started with, with an update that could double the current size (i always imagined Dornman Port at Musk Reef's east for example). So we could see the port, the dandelio sea, frontiers with Shneznaya, etc. And this big Mondstadt update would bring Venti Story Quest Part II (i would hate if it'd this long, pls i need it so badly) And my theory about this quest, is that since every Part II is about a great danger, a menace from the past or from the archon choices and decisions, i'm expecting seeing Decarabian's "return". We know that Venti is not a "strong" Archon, and that he used Andrius' power at his death to reshape Mondstadt. But we never knew what happened to Decarabian's power after his death. Every god, even minor, causes catastrophe during their death. And I always imagined that Barbatos, never wanting to use the strenght of the tyrant, sealed it somewhere, but during his Part II, somehow it cannot be contained anymore a lot of flaws perhaps, but i can't stop thinking about what could it be. Every Archon's Part II has a weekly boss, but if Venti has this too, then Mondstadt would have 3 weekly bosses, so if that's the case, that's why i'm expecting it to appear during endgame, when all nations can be updated. I thought about Albedo going mad and becoming the menace he's scared to be, somehow Durin reviving, another Fatui Harbinger, etc etc honestly, i'm very much confused, but theorycrafting is so much fun sometimes

crack theory: the current form of the Archon Venti is a combination of the corpse of the unknown bard and the spirit of the little wisp Barbatos. the lore says that the first thing that Barbatos did once he got the gnosis was to build a body for himself in the image of the unknown bard. i doubt the Anemo gnosis has that capability. but a more believable power from the Anemo gnosis would be to infuse a spirit into an object or a corpse. so my theory is that Venti is a walking corpse that is piloted by Barbatos.
