Hey Aaron! Appreciate the continued support! That was a fun one to get into with the Ventrac. The briars are always a challenge with the open cab, but thankfully there weren't too many of them to tackle. Really a fun job with a quick transformation. For the most part, I'm a one man show. I've had help here and there in the past, but I do the majority of the work myself. One of the reasons I decided to go with the Ventrac. You can tackle some pretty big jobs by yourself and make some decent money as well. Thanks again for taking the time to watch. I appreciate you!

I really enjoy these wooded-but-tamed properties. If I was the land owner, I would have left a bit more growth along some of the creek area so that it looked more like a creek and less like a drainage ditch, but I'm not so who cares :) Awesome job!

Cameron, how often do you sharpen the blades on your Ventrac? As usual, I am enjoying your videos.
@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the continued support. I really appreciate it. I don't sharpen the blades nearly as often as you would think. Especially if I'm just cutting thick overgrown grass and some really small saplings/brush. If I get into the thicker stuff, I'll sharpen them after about 15 hours or so.

Hey Cameron, I love your content, your spirit, and love for God. We have spoken before ans I am in the midst of making a big life changing decision about my business in lawn care and need advice asap! It is about moving from a not so good lawn care market in Mississippi to a exceptional lawn care market in Frisco Texas, North of Dallas. I need advice ASAP, because I have to make decision now. I trust your opinion and advice in the industry and would appreciate your incite, opinion, or advice. Thank you Chad Rowe, Red Rock Lawn Care
@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri9 ай бұрын
Hey Chad, hope all is well man. I think lawn care is one of those industries where you can thrive in any market. You just have to know your market and who you are going to target. There's money to be made, there's customers to take care of, there's problems that need to be solved. Lots of opportunities in lawn care no matter where you live. Sometimes you half to just get a little creative and find ways to make it work. Trust in God, seek HIM, and know that He will Provide each and every day!

How many inches do you mow at? I was doing 3 inches with my tough cut but had to raise it to 6” we grow rocks in Vermont and I’ve nearly blown up the tough cut multiple times mowing very high overgrown fields. I’ve been walking in front while my dad runs the machine spotting for many acres. I’m severely undercharging I think but just getting going. Any tips/tricks? Up here most use tractors with rear brush hogs putting the front bucket low and in front to spot for rocks. I’ve had to already replace a set of blades and two belts in about 7 jobs….almost thinking brushhog/tough cut isn’t worth it for me here. Barely getting 100.00 per hour most people won’t pay that here…love the blower, power rake broom and bucket. Stump grinder is next.
@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri10 ай бұрын
Usually put it all the way down to 3" UNLESS I'm tackling a rock farm lol. Then I'll bump it up so it scoots across and doesn't damage the machine. I've hit a lot of rocks over the many many hours I've put on the Tough Cut, but surprisingly haven't done much damage to it. I would focus on the smaller jobs where a big tractor/bush hog can't go. I tend to make more money per hour on the smaller jobs UNLESS it's a bigger job that's too steep or too wet for a big tractor/bush hog. You really have to go after that niche market if you have a lot of ppl in your area doing bush hog work dirt cheap still. Focus on detention areas, ponds, lakes, dams, steep hillsides or small narrow areas, maybe areas that are low and stay wet. Market to those different jobs where the Ventrac will outperform any other machine. I'm looking at getting stump grinder, flail, and new loader down the road. One attachment at a time though. 😃
@pangst1910 ай бұрын
@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri ok thanks, yeah no way I could do 3 inches here anymore. I try to bump it out of float fast enough but damage has been done so I’ve been killing the pto now instead of trying to jam it out of float and off the rock. We have big hilly rocky swampy lands here just not sure it’s worth it. I’ll give it another season keep the attachment just incase but it’s difficult. Love your videos, I’d like to start making more videos but it’s hard solo with a full time job and my small business on the side. Just trying to get the specialty jobs though driveways etc. I do well in the spring with the broom attachment for winter clean ups might target that, driveways and fall clean ups but would like to use the tough cut in the summer. Some jobs pay others people cringe at the price.

Hey Cambrin great job bud , I have a question for ya is that tough cut the same thing as a flail mower deck.
@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri11 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! The Tough Cut deck that I'm running is different than the flail mower deck. The Tough Cut is really made for the smaller saplings. There are 2 different flail mower decks out right now; Fast Cut and Fine Cut. The flail mower decks are designed to leave a cleaner cut, but they can't handle the thicker saplings like the Tough Cut. Hope that helps!
