The ventrac is the best for cutting that terrain. Out here in Connecticut they use a john deer tractor with a PTO mower. Awesome video! I like your 4500 ventrac Thank you for posting 😀

I have the older style ventrac, accidently drove off a 4-meter bank. The ventrac skidded straight down. I pulled it out with my truck. A ride on would have rolled for sure. That mower with the dual wheels is a beast would have one tomorrow. Keep mowing mate.

Man yeah, EASY MONEY on the VENTRAC! I would love to get some jobs like that for myself. Best job I've had on mine so far was a pond dam, where I reached a 32-degree slope. Man, that was fun!! Nice work as always, keep bringing them Ventrac videos!!

You're right about the zero turn getting stuck. I've been stuck three times. I take care of 3 acres and have steep ditches. I don't even bother anymore with my John Deere 54 inch zero-turn if the ditches are too wet. I have to bring out my Honda self-propelled walk behind to do them when they're not dry enough.

It seems like Missouri mows their highways about two times a year. So a lot of people like farmers and businesses mow road sides just because it looks better. MODOT doesn't care, they get paid whether they mow or not.

I have 500 hours on it now! As far as it holding up? Eh. At 200 hours, they replace both heads. At 400 hours, they put a new engine on there. Hopefully at 600 hours she is still ticking lol.

I think it would be therapeutic mowing with a Ventrac. How steep of incline do you switch from horizontal to vertical mowing?

Absolutely! As long as you know what’s underneath you. I would rather not have surprises like huge washed out areas or hidden objects lol. If you can avoid those, it’s very relaxing. If it’s a really long horizontal area then I will attempt to tackle it. But really anything over 20 degrees, it’s more comfortable to go up and down. This hillside runs pretty long horizontally and would be quicker if I mowed it that way. But I enjoy going up and down especially on that far end. It gets STEEP! Appreciate you watching!

Can’t get the Cub on this one. Terrain is too rough and uneven. Too many washed out spots. I would put my standers on here, but you can’t. That’s where the Ventrac thrives though. Goes over it like it’s nothing. If this ground was smooth though, that Cub would have no problem. Thanks for watching!

You won't take a 100HP tractor where you can take the Ventrac and attachments. Completely different pieces of equipment. If you're tackling lots of open acreage, I would go with the bigger tractor and bush hog. But if it's steep, stick to the Ventrac. Thanks for taking time to watch!
