Straussman is an American ventriloquist that has been a semi big act in Australia for the last 20-30 years. Big enough that half the people you bring him up to know who he is and he sells out theatres when he tours. He had a few specials that were really quite well put together where there was basically a story/play going on the through the whole thing while doing hos act. There were like lighting queues and sound effects ans ahit that sold it all and he had a bunch of different dummies that he would incorporate into the show. The two main dummies were Chuck Wood qnd Tedd E Bear. He was actually pretty edgey too, lots of adult oriented jojea and gross out shit going on but at the same time any age of kid could enjoy the show too. I had his DVDs growing up and watched them continuously. There were even special features that showed him building and designing puppets in his garage. His dummies were also kind of half animatronic and could somewhat move by themselves and he would cliae the show with all his dummies on stage all talking at the aame time and shit. It's always entertaining and there is always that one moment when you stop and realize "i am just watching one dude arguing with himself for an hour and a half". Otto and George were awesome. They left out the greatest story about Otto though. When he was younger he did his ventriloquism as a street performer in New York City. One day he was performing at a park and making fun of some Puerto Rican guy that was watching. The guy got so upset that he pulled out a knife and stabbed George... The dummy... Otto just stayed calm and said (as George) "This fuckin sp*ck thinks I'm real". Otto would also purposely fuck with people to make them think he waa some sort of "tortured mind" or something. Like when he dis the Opie and Anthony show he would sit down before going on air and talk to the people in the room and talk about whatever but simultaneously he would have George on his lap looking through a newpaper with his head down and scanning the pages. George would then occasionally comment on something in the paper that Otto hadn't even looked at. Nobody knew id be was seriously nuts or not but really ge was just fuckin with people's heads. He also had a web series/talk show called Pig Roast which was great but the episodes are hard to find. Although i believe that recently they made it onto KZbin so make sure to look for that. Also could have been mentioned that David Copperfield is a huge collector of ventriloquism stucf and owns some of the very famous dummies from history in his collection. He even owns the original George from Otto and George.
