We traveled for 15 years and as you said, the hardest part is to take that first step. After a couple of years of traveling you wonder why you didn't do it earlier, one trap you have to watch out for is you stop at one place, and before you know it 10 years have gone by. Now I'm back in my home town but I still have itchy feet

Definitely look into Puzzle Lake near the town of Tamworth in Ontario. It's an old decommissioned Provincial Park will lots of lakes, killer campsite, and trails to explore. Best in the summer (dry season) as the main trail can get quite muddy. One of my favorite places to camp/explore.

Chris & Shannon. A suggestion, do not go above the Great Lakes, it's boring. Far better to take highway 17 all the way. Great scenery from just north of Sault Ste. Marie around to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lots of boondocking and formal campgrounds along this route. A do not miss is Sleeping Giant Provincial Park and the village just south of it on the shore of Lake Superior. Cheers, Steve

Regarding the seat covers, my buddy put high-end neoprene custom covers on his seats, and we used them for a few years. We concluded our body heat made them hot and uncomfortable. We eventually decided against them and returned to the factory covers with full knowledge that one day a re-upholstery will be needed.
@dathat5552 жыл бұрын
I agree on the breath-ability factor. I put neoprene covers on my truck when new in 1998. They finally fell apart due to UV damage. Removed them 21 years later (yeah, never cleaned them) and the factory cloth seats were pristine. I was so impressed with the protection I replaced with a new set of neoprene covers despite the less than optimum comfort.

As sad as the occasion is, it's also wonderful to celebrate the life of those we loved. Plus you needed a little bit of downtime to get orangey back to speed. I was wondering if you were going to have any time available for a get together with some of your friends and patreons on the East Coast before you head out

I'd love to exchange my 35' double slider trailer for an "Orangie" ... type unit! and Looze weight too! OH ... Chris ... Put a tow bar on Orangie so you and Shannon can tow the jeep behind the camper when taking both rigs ... and ride together ... and save gas in one rig ... it works well
@ipaddlemyowncanoe.74412 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Jeep is turned out pretty good. I see you're coming up through Canada. The gas prices up here or just unreal Buddy. Mind. Just came back from BC to Southern Ontario and he just spent about $2,500 Canadian on gas there and back so keep that in mind. Might see you around. Just one more thing. Diesel up here is like $2.30 a liter 👍👍🙂🇨🇦

Congratulations on the 3" mattress Chris! I can't wait to hear how you like it compared to the 2". The 2" mattress is an overlooked shortcoming of the Ursa Minor that I haven't heard addressed before. I've been thinking of upgrading mine for 6 months and was thinking of a 3.5" - what led you to deciding on 3" exactly? Also, I'm very interested in understanding if the thicker mattress leads to any issues with the top closing when you have your sleeping bags and pillows upstairs. I would be grateful if you would include your perspective in a future video. Also, did you upgrade your XG Cargo bags to the stealth version? Kind of looks like it...

Just don't see any benefits from having the fog lights controlled by two different switches. But I do see it complicating diagnosing if problems arise. Even though it is not real complicated why add any complications to a system if it does not add a significant benefit.
