Guys…all your video are FIRE 🔥 thank you! The explanations are simple and clear. So fun to watch

I love how you include snagging the brush and hitting a spot and just not getting anything. Reminds us new guys that things just happen sometimes.
@Care_Bairn2 ай бұрын
I gotta echo this sentiment. Seeing that bush snag, and mentioning how it could have been a mistake you made that spooked the fish in that first hole, shows how much thats just part of the game. Really helps to make all of this much more approachable to us uninitiated. Really appreciate how real you keep it with these videos.

Great crash course.. it's true about moving on when you know it's too much waiting or watching.. I tend to try guessing what might be underneath but usually they have a feeding time. I haven't had a chance to fish much at all but understand everything you reviewed here.. ty for sharing good information

I started teaching myself to fly fish in high school and didn’t even know what a nymph was until I got home from my mission😂 needless to say I enjoy fishing dry flies the most and I learned a couple new things in this video.

Love your beginners guide and really appreciate the time, effort and money you spend to create that library of knowledge. Really helped me out to get into flyfishing and can't wait to start my first season :) A topic which might could be interesting to get taught about is that i crossed my way with the bamboo rods. Would you recommend one of these or are these a nice piece of artwork but not "neccesary" to own? Also, sadly your flytying kit isn't available anymore with the vise, which Alex has used in a lot of videos. Really like the look of it :) Thanks in advance and have a great day together :)

I actually build bamboo fly rods! We have some content planned around them coming up, for the podcast. Not sure when I'm gonna do it, but it'll be soon-ish.

"Pro-tip, dont catch the bushes" Nonsense. All these other guys are out here landing these easy little trout. Im out here catching land bushes, and my favorite, submerged tangles. Fight is a lot harder than trout, and I catch and release so its not like I worry about the taste. Also could anyone suggest an appropriate rod for logs? I can't seem to get the right fly and leader, they keep breaking. Should I maybe head out with a 20wt?

Hey Venture guys. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Really liked this tutorial. Great job once again 👏. Would like to switch gears real quick. The family and I are planning our first trip out West. We will be there end of July. Going to use Cody as our "home base ". Any info that is not on KZbin videos would be greatly appreciated. Especially recommendations for guides. We want to do one float trip for sure and some wading. Thanks in advance and you guys have helped to advance my fly fishing so much.
@SpencerDurrant9 ай бұрын
I know a few of the guides in Cody, you can't go wrong with any of them. And honestly, everything around the Cody area is already on KZbin, except maybe the deep in the Thorofare stuff. So there aren't any real secrets out there. The North Fork of the Shoshone is a wonderful fishery that you could spend your entire trip on. Obviously all the Yellowstone stuff, too. And you have the Clark's Fork and all the streams/lakes in the Beartooths to go through, as well. There's enough there to keep you busy for 4-5 vacations 😂
@GregTodd-t3z9 ай бұрын
@SpencerDurrant . Brother, thanks so much. For the info and fast response. You guys are truly class acts. Got the fly tying kit from you guys for Christmas. Giving serious consideration to the fly flinger rod. Trying to gradually upgrade. Not going to lie. I've turned into a lover of euro nymphing. Here in Western NC, it has seemed to be the ticket. But your love of the dry fly and since I'm heading to your neck of the woods, thought it would only be appropriate to get a nice 5wt
@SpencerDurrant9 ай бұрын
@@GregTodd-t3z you bet! We're actually updating the Fly Flinger here soon. Same blank, just updated looks/hardware. And if you're gonna fish WY, you've gotta fish dries! Haha. Euro is fun for sure, just not my favorite way to go. Although I wish I would have been doing it last week. Anyways -- lemme know if you have any more questions! And enjoy the fly tying kit! We appreciate you picking it up!
