Can I use a rooting hormone for the flower stalk to root better? Thank you.

yes you can :-)

Could I put the flower stalks in a covered seed tray? It has a light and humidity control. Standard 12 cell. Or would a cell be to small?

I have a question. Do you think it’s possible to allow it to flower, make it’s seeds then cut it off, take the seeds and then make some from tissue culture also?

Out of the remaining flower stalk? I do not see why not, as along as the stalk is still healthy it should be fine.

I have a S-load of venus fly traps. I did an experiment where I let half grow flowers. Growing flowers didn't harm or slow them in the slightest

For how long to you leave the stalks in the sphagnum moss before you plant it?
@GreenthumbsGarden Жыл бұрын
not until you see plantlets coming up, and then not, let them grow until they are bigger, and then plant the next year when they brake dormancy.

Can you please do more cherries?
@GreenthumbsGarden3 жыл бұрын
Yes she will do soon! I just have some orchid vids to get out the way first. Then I'll make a new update and cover some of the common questions that keep popping up. 😁

Because I’m trying to grow cherries correctly and you might help me 😁
I have a question I bought a Venus flytrap a few weeks ago, it's small about pinkie nail size, I'm just wondering is it safe to let it flower at that size and can they self-pollinate

I need to know how to feed my venus during the winter.
@GreenthumbsGarden10 ай бұрын
Wouldn't bother. If outside then they will catch enough to keep them happy. In winter they dormant so feeding is not needed. In the next month they will start to weaken up if your in the northern hem and you could give them a bite if you want to give them a boost, but never all the traps, just 2 out of 5 is ample. kzbin.info7o1__Tb8i1k?feature=share here's a short feeding VFTs, maybe i can make a full vid before then if I have time.

They catch their own food.

I had a beautiful healthy flytrap that put up a cute flower and then sadly it died. I loved that little plant, it was like a pet.
@GreenthumbsGarden2 жыл бұрын
what water did you give it? i need to make a basic flytrap care video as many suffer the same problems.
@Universal_Consciousness2 жыл бұрын
@@GreenthumbsGarden I gave it tap water once or twice a week. It did have a very good supply of flies during the two years I had it.
@GreenthumbsGarden2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that will kill it. Tap water in general is not good for Carnivorous plants. The mineral content is too high and it burns the roots causing a slow decline until the plant dies. Use Distilled, RO "reverse osmosis" or Rainwater. What surprises me is that the plant lived for 2 years on tap water 🤔 maybe where you live the water is very low in minerals which can be the case... but high enough to build up over time. If you are really into growing Carnivorous plants then invest in a TDS meter, they are about 10$ I have some links in the description. Measure your water and you know what you dealing with. Also join flytrapcare.com forum, a wealth of info right there.

It didn't die. You murdered it with poison
@funkblack Жыл бұрын
@@Universal_Consciousness besides the water problem, prolly you didn't put it in dormancy either. All that factors put a toll on your little pet.

I have a question, my venus flytrap recently grew a flower stalk, now less than a month later a SECOND flower stalk is growing, is it normal? How many flower stalks can a single venus flytrap grow? And if there are more than one, should I separate them? Thank you
@GreenthumbsGarden2 жыл бұрын
Alot! If it's a healthy large plant, it will produce one flower stalk for each rosette. A Venus flytrap will be a connected cluster of rosettes each with about 4-6 leafs. It's these you can divide when reporting. So each rosset can make a stalk. I would just leave them if you planning to let them flower.

My plant started to grow a second flower stalk days apart.
