Can never beat the old school anime, made with passion and care.

That’s true! Nowadays we have a lot of anime but most of them are so bad, so it doesn't even worth to mention.

Strange how I now find these dystopian / melancholic animes very appealing after turning 30. It's like my brain just switched to some other mode all entirely. Me in my 20's: These animes are pretty good. Me now: Holy fuck! These are phenomenal! Recently watched Urusei Yatsura Beatiful Dreamer, that left a big impact on me. And I'm now going to re-watch Venus Wars since 10 years.

Badass. I was looking for some gameplay of the ephonymus famicom game and ended up it's based upon a manga, that only makes it more interesting. Thanks for uploading this back in the day.

Damn this details and art style. I love these old animes. Way better than modern animes.
@TheExecutorr5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't necersarilly agree on that, for there are many modern anime with interesting and unique styles too, but you barely find anything modern that resembles anime from the 70s and 80s anymore, which is a shame. Just knowing that it is all hand drawn makes you sort of respect it even more, because that animation looks gorgeous. So many details in the explosions and stuff. Amazing they managed to do this without software assistance
These old anime films all have a sort of je ne sais quoi feel to them that just isn't in most ones these days, maybe because they were more hand drawn
@TheGorillafoot7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. The new stuff is good, but just not the same. I miss this style. This is a great movie, I've watched it countless times.

That "Je ne sais quoi" is most likely "Talent, motivation, sweat & care" in a time where doing big projects like this one was really risky. Total respect.
@Razzy13125 жыл бұрын
Yep and because they were hand drawn there was a lot more passion and care that went into making them. You're going to try hard to not make crap when making said crap is going to take thousands of man hours instead of being pumped out of a CGI factory for much less time and effort.

Loved the anime, however the title is all wrong..none of this would ever be possible on Venus. It has as atmospheric pressure equivalent to 90 earth atmospheres on the surface and is hot enough to melt lead.
