I love how when she says "You are an icon -- PERIOD. Right??" She just nods like, "Yep." LOL. Love them. Venus and her father came to my middle school in Harlem when I was a kid (maybe ages 11-13 or so) and they were so amazing. They donated to my school, came to encourage the young women (who were indeed encouraged) and they were very authentic in their encouragement. Clearly, as I still remember it now many years later as an adult. As a child, I recall they gave Venus' REAL LIFE PHONE NUMBER to my class and one of my friends became a temporary penpal. What an awesome family, beautiful and hard-working and THOROUGH. LEGIT. True inspirations. Go, Williams Fam!!!! Love love love it. xxoxo

Venus is just so amazing and it’s a pity that her autoimmune diagnosis robbed her of what most likely would’ve been more career championships. People often forget that back in 2010 Venus made it all the way back to no. 2 in the world just behind Serena, and when she looked like she would compete for more Majors, the very next year she was diagnosed with the disease.

That's because, sadly, Serena felt she needed to alter her naturally beautiful features. Serena was equally as beautiful. With the confidence she exuded, I was disappointed that somehow she felt compelled or persuaded to irreparably alter her beautiful features. She will never look the same. she was diagnosed with sjögren’s syndrome. she has talked about it plenty and isn’t avoidant about it all. maybe the hosts were for some reason, but i can’t speak to that. but that is definitely an interesting and integral part of the venus williams story. you should look it up.
