Always too many unnecessary errors in Venus' game for my liking. Serena played much cleaner by comparison which contributed to her having more victories.

Daniela’s accuracy is here and there, that was the standard back then and that’s why Serena and Venus did well. Fast forward today having more unforced errors than winners will leave you out of the tournament in the early part

lol just no. Players hit with a lot more topspin now and there’s different racquet technology and that’s the difference. Prime Hantuchova would have done about the same in this era as she did then.

How many top female players are there right now with these combinations; the best serve( i mean harder and faster serving) , the best volley, the best net play, the best forehand, the best backhand, the speed, the athleticism, the finesse and the power these two possesses. Aryna Sabalenka? well, she's not the most athletic. Iga Swiatek? She doesn't have the best serve either. Naomi Osaka? She is only a complete baseline player, never a great volleyer. Unless you can show me any today's player who has the touch of Martina Hingis, the power of Ivanovic's forehand, the power of Serena/Venus/Maria backhand, the strength and precision of Serena's serve, the speed of Justine Henin's, the footwork of Justine Henin's, the passing shot of Serena Williams, the return game of Serena Williams as well, then you can say that the today's women field are better than before.

Venus was hitting very hard and flat in this match… Almost thought Daniela could not handle the pace coming at her off Venus’s racquet, particularly on the serve

At 43yrs Venus is amazing and has no more pressure. Really can retire anytime she chooses. She is still good but prefer watching the hungry up and coming players.

Amazing facts no one Venus played to get to that final is still playing in fact no one in the entire tournament on the women's side or men side doubles or mixed is playing tennis in 2023

This match was 20 years ago. Of course no one is still playing. They're all squarely middle aged & tennis is a young person's game. Venus herself should be retired. You stay posting the same comment on old matches as if it's some revelation.
