I watched your previous vid ! WTF was offensive ? Did someone actually complain or was it KZbins famously inaccurate algorythms ?... and, Do you have an Odysee channel ? Some youtubers, fed up with KZbins perpetual incompetence, inconsistencies, and lack of integrity, have moved there. KZbin are astonishingly inept, you can't report bugs, things don't work. Starsky Car had a hardware synth demo taken down as it contained a filter sweep, to demonstrate the filter, and they awarded copyright to some unknown band from 2009 !! Like filter sweeps hadn't been used a gazzillion times through the 60's, 70's, 80's, & 90's - how can something that stupid happen,.. but it happens again and again, so it can't be accidental.

I used to review goofy movies. I had an audience of two, sometimes even three people who would enjoy my videos. KZbin kicked my AstroTurf from here to Sunday with violations, notifications and refusals to post my content, no matter how little I used the footage. I gave up. I was not doing it to make money, I just wanted to have fun. It was not fun. Keep fighting the fight.

I just post the weirdest "music" that doesn't sound like anything else, no cover songs, and only use my own video and pics, and have about 0 engagement with anybody, all despite posting probably 100 or so tracks, and I don't think there's ever been a copyright anything, AFAIK. So, it depends somewhat on the types of material you post. YT should notify people exactly what caused the copyright issue, and then provide the tools to edit that out of a video (assuming it's not "the entire video" basically). Considering how much money they make off the backs of the popular creators, it seems like a reasonable service for them to offer, as part of their exchange for the generous vig they receive. IMO, that's the least they could do. I think they just don't want to put forth the effort. Like with the periodic scams that happen... they should be more proactive about providing tools to combat those, especially when it's blatant and saturated, like the Telegram👈 scams. i imagine it depends on the details of each particular case, but in my case the same thing - strikes on my music - actually originated from one of distributors that i used a couple of times for small releases, mainly just to test the UI and how they approach distribution several years ago. since the entity which issues a strike may often have a different legal name or may be a subsidiary to the distributor’s company, it may be further confused about where the issue originates from. once i’ve figured out the source of my cases, it all came down to logging into my distribution account, finding those ContentID claims towards my own channel and dismiss those. the changes then became visible in YT’s account within a couple of hours. so in case of getting similar strikes it’s generally a good idea to take a moment and try to remember whether it can come from a distribution company you used a while ago and stuff like that. but yeah, i heard different stories about those claims coming from some shady practices - working especially good with cover songs / interpolations / remixes, but i wouldn’t be surprised to hear that it may be used against original content, since the industry is quite fucked up in general on multiple fronts, ngl lol. so my advice unfortunately is not a universal one.

I appealed to it, giving all the data proofing that I created it all - instantly got a strike for it that states: If I do it again, I might lose my account and everything associated to it will be deleted. As a music producer with a little over 10k subs on this platform (and I love each and every one of those people the "abatrary number" represents) the thought of not being able to engage with the audience I've grown to love over the past 2 years is horrifying. You're not alone, the exact same issue pops up every now and then with all kinds of youtubers, and not only in US/CA. The worst of it isn't the 'guess the rules empirically' or the changing rules over times, it's the lack of transparency. There should be a law forcing platforms to provide clear information as to why they censor a piece of content : a clear identification of the offending content, and of the way this breaks their unpublished rules. I can't imagine how stressful this must be.

I think I’m speaking for most of the people who watch and enjoy your content when I say we not only appreciate your transparency and enjoy your humorous takes on serious issues, but we are also here with you in outrage at KZbin’s policies from either other people’s experiences and frustrations or our own as fellow creators (for those of us who are). You and Benn are a couple of my favorites exposing the flaws and frankly ridiculous systems, regulations, and happenings in not only the music industry but the art and entertainment industry as a whole. Damn… another quality video from a creator I enjoy bites the dust because KZbin’s nonsensical judgement. Each time this happens, the urge to only stream videos on Nebula becomes stronger. I stick around on KZbin for the incredible (often smaller) creators that aren’t on the other platform, but the only way to affect policy change on this platform seems to be decreasing traffic.

I feel ya. I recently started a Twitter account. I used it, perhaps, 10 times. I was informed I am permanently suspended now, because of abuse or something. No. That did not happen. No matter. Still forever suspended; and still no response to an appeal. ...because that makes sense.

With great power comes great responsibility. KZbin and other big Corpos are definitively in a monopoly-esque position and that should change the rules quite a bit. Technically it's a private corpo, but practically it's what the marketplace in the city used to be. It is one of the few relevant forums, where people come together and discuss things. Thus, I perceive it as more of a public domain, than let's say a club or a restaurant. You had me laughing for half of the video. Thanks for making this! I'm not rich, but I will chime in your patreon for a couple of months, because I think speaking up against overlords should be encouraged.

Thanks for sticking up for the "little guy" KZbin needs to do better. After 2 years and more than 400 videos, I am already considering alternative platforms... This is discouraging, to say the least. Ironically enough, I was just 100% cleared for being monetized, yesterday (out of all days) Watching this unfold definitely took me down a peg, but this video brought me back up a bit. Great work!
