Aye Alfie you never stop making us nervous 😅😅😅 I’m glad it all worked out. I’ve always loved Veracruz Ballet Folk dancing but just not sure it’s a city I would want to visit. I love the history but I don’t think I could deal with the heat and humidity. For now I’ll enjoy your tour ❤.

Alfie, I enjoyed this video very much. Veracruz and Campeche are two cities in Mexico I would love to go visit, both of them have a lot of Cuban/Caribbean influences, in the foods they eat, the Spanish accent they speak and their music. The "Danzon" is a musical genre that was born in 1879 in Cuba, then it spread to Mexico and other parts of the Caribbean. That was a smart thing to do, paying the taxi driver 350 - 500 pesos it's worth it, especially when you don't know the area, and anything can happen to you. I was surprised you didn't show inside of the Cathedral of Veracruz. Take care and looking forward to your next adventure.
@GringoInterrupted16 күн бұрын
Thanks Lou! I did go in the Cathedral, but three was a mass happening and it was so hot in there, I couldn’t take it. Honestly, it wasn’t very impressive inside. Thanks for watching! ☺️

I didn’t get the usual KZbin notification about this one…….regardless, that person getting their picture taken for an extended period of time stole some of your opening scene thunder. The taxi/rattlesnake story was entertaining, I expected you to purchase snake boots………also…….I love romancing the stone……I saw that movie from the balcony of a movie theater in northeast Philly(torn down, now a Target) with my Boy Scout troop(we were probably too young to see it).

Alfie, that was great! I’ve been wanting to go there mostly as I heard it was very gay. Plus I have yet to see any of Caribbean Coastline. I finally picked up a Merino Wool t shirt for work in the winter ~ total game changer! Thanks for the suggestion. Safe travels from Ted 🌈 & Chap 🐶 in Seattle.
@GringoInterrupted16 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! I didn’t get a chance to check out the gay scene (cuz I’m old 😂) but the apps were hopping! The Merino Wool shirts are indeed a game-changer. Just be careful with them as two of mine have developed holes! Bugs seem to love them! Give Chap a treat for me! 🐶❤️

I love Mexico with a passion and I totally understand where you're coming from but I'll tell you that the difference has to do with the individualism that is the hallmark of life in the US in contrast to the much more communal, familial and shared ethos towards life that one feels in Mexico. There are so many beautiful places in the US, particularly in the deep south like Savannah that I love or in direct contrast, Boston with that Yankee accent that I also love...hahaha! But yeah, Mexico's culture of inclusion, tolerance and commonality does make you feel at home even when you're a foreigner. American culture is simply different.
