One the songs i like as young man. As i turn 62 this year in 2024.it still makes my heart sing. 😊😊. Its type of song that when your 20 years old you loved the song. It stills sounds great 40 years later.

As a child I loved this song, as an adult I love it more. Such irony in the lyrics is the truth of what is happening to this planet.

A beautifully performed song that has stood the test of time, with words that are still very much relevant to the world we live in. Thanks for your comments.

The funny thing for me is my childhood home town stayed the same... 40 years later! It is starting to change now though... such a sweet song for those who know... like I said... my home town that I moved from after 11 years stayed almost really almost the same... a dream come true.

I heard the original Italian version in 1966 when I was 18 and loved it even though I didn’t understand a word but It stayed with me Only just found this version today. Understanding the words makes it even more poignant for me,

Wow, I was so surprised to find this song today on KZbin. I remember this song so well from years ago, but the words describe the world today. Songs from our youth in the "60s and "70s bring back so many memories. Wish the world was as I remember it.

I was in my Dad's Barber shop on Warren Dr. Detroit Michigan. I was 9 years old in 1966. When I heard this Song, only heard it one time, but determine to fine the song someday. I did in 2010. By typing the words. SOME VERY STRONG WORDS. I wish to, the places. That I went to eat where the real deal and safe.

One of the first 45's I heard after getting out of the Navy. LOVED this immediately and went downtown to buy it. Verdelle had an incredible voice and the lyrics are so true for the time. In my old neighborhood, a new highway destroyed it!

It's an Italian song: Il Ragazzo della Via Gluck (Boy from Gluck street), made by Adriano Celentano (he, 83 years old, is like an institution in Italy). I remember the French version, La Maison où j'ai Grandi, performed by Francoise Hardy.

A brilliant performance from Verdelle Smith. It never charted in the UK. So many great songs got overlooked in the UK. It boggles my mind.

Excellent version, I only knew the original by Celentano and Francoise Hardy's cover. This is way better than Francoise Hardy and up there with Celentano quality wise. Bravissima, bellissima voce.
