That tyre roar though! On your point about the BMW 6 Cylinder Diesels, I think it'd be great if you could compare the 35d engine against the 35i/40i engines. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, as an owner of a 435d, I always feel I've missed out a bit on the petrol equivalent. (but then feel relieved when it's £100 less to fill up :))

Yeah those bigger 'Cup' alloys are only available with run flats. The smaller 17" wheels come with proper/normal tyres so I suspect a lot of the ride comfort and tyre roar is down to the run flats. I have a 3 door hatch version of the SD and I love it. Such a tidy, useful, get-in-and-go car that goes pretty quickly and still returns nearly 50mpg. Does understeer though if you're pushing on as Joe has said previously about the Mini's. I guess putting a heavy diesel lump up front just adds to the problem.

Near misses indeed! Maybe it's the paintwork? My wife say the stelth grey of our focus ST blends in with the colour of the road and makes it hard to spot. When's this new M140i coming?

Really interesting to see how you found the Clubman Joe. I just got a JCW last month and have been blown away by how it good is - Its a really great bit kit so am looking forward to seeing what you think of them especially compared to the M Lites. Another great video mate 👍

Ollie's Auto Channel I miss my M135i. I love the clubman cooper S I have, but it's not as refined for daily motorway bashing. Engine is great for a 2.0L but road noise and the lack of more flexibility are a shame. The team lining and understeer doesn't help.

Do you still love your JCW? I'm interested in buying a Clubman JCW SD and I've seen a couple. Worried going from the Countryman to the Clubman I'll feel it's too small though 🤔

My Mini Clubman was a 1978 estate, 1100cc in bright blue with a beige cloth interior. I'm not so sure this one is as charismatic.

I had the first gen new mini with the supercharged engine which was a fantastic little car but the current car looks bloated and fussy by comparison and is slowly moving away from the original theme. Great to see the success your having Joe!

I find my steering and seat aren't quite lined up. That's an issue as I feel I'm sitting offset causing some knee pain.

I am driving X3 now and I am thinking of switching to Mini Cooper S, I’m gonna look at 2016, 2017 and 2018 and compare them ( any thoughts on them ?) Thank you for making these mini videos. And yes, 😂 I saw the guy who just crossed the street, crazy.

Mrs had the sd cooper 3 door and i did actually enjoy driving that over the 335d i have. You are right the suspension is absolutly pants on this, even if you change it to 17 inch it works no better, we had the adaptive suspension pack too which didn't do any help and particularly the rear seat comfort is really bad, it feels like jumping everywhere lol! The only plus point like you say you never expect a diesel could be fun and the fuel economy on this is madness on a long run never fails to return 55mpg!

Gearbox is different due to engine.layout I believe the ZF isn't compatible with transverse block

I have driven an SD All4 (model 2020) but not long: for my much too loud inside. Motornoise is horrible during long drives. Then I have switched to a BMW 520xd 😁

Why have a Desail mini ?? Am i missing something , insurance group perhaps? Thn go for less powered.. I want a fun mini clubman but which model .. got be petrol, insurance not a problem unless my daughter wants drive it.. she want tho Eh !! 18 just passed test.. course she will want it.. So want sat nav etc etc . Fuel economy aint bothered, price new under £30k and think, will i get insured for new driver at university. I do Require 4 doors as family-friendly ** noticed that cannot order factory chequered roof **

Mini's, as nice as they may be , are at least £10k overpriced in UK, with very little discount for buying new from the dealer!

All them near misses I think was down to the colour of the car.. your just blending into the road. Good job it didn't have a dotted white line over the car as you'd freak out on coming traffic !!!!!😂😂
