That may be true but there's a lot of Turn Down rates for plasma. For example you have to have a water bill no other bill will do even though every bill has just what they're looking for. When you count how many people live in apartments that pay the water bill that just means third setting himself up for a large turn down rate for people wanting to donate. At least that's my experience here in Texas. Sounds like a strange way to say that they care about people with vitamin deficiencies that need plasma.

When I donated in my mid-twemties, I used to celebrate with 1 pint of Guiness after dinner. Now at age 44, I fuel up on healthy cuisine before and after donating. Hydration is an absolute must. Drink plenty of water. Donating plasma keeps me on my sober path, abstinence from alcohol. The money I earn affords me better groceries including CBD with low THC, and Lion's Mane mushrooms amongst many. Be strong for yourselves and be strong for others. It's a LIFESTYLE

Soon I'll reintroduce the THC to my body via edibles. We'll get a better picture of the perks when they screen each visit. I lift weights at Planet Fitness, only on the days I don't give plasma. No sex. No tattoos. No piercings. But $115 weekly is more than any of those three actually pay in cash. Plus donating plasma helps with my comedy ideas/material. It gets me HIGH in various ways. I' started donating plasma when I was about 20 years old .... I stopped because I got a job instead......I had been donating off and on when I turned between 23-29 !! and these last 2 years ( I'm 37 now) I've been donating when ever I'm sober enough and am able to make it to the spot I travel by bus.................................................. So roughly 8 times a month!! but I convinced my self it's better to donate sober!! Just in case.... well they say not to consume alcohol 2days (before and after) :you donate 2 days a week and I have a habit to keep drinking more than a day!!!it's not worth it to even drink 1 day out of the week !!!My advice stay sober or don't donate at all!!

I don't know. I kind of always feel guilty about being paid for a donation. On top of that, it's not really healthy to give plasma long-term. Although I'm pretty sure they don't pay in pennies, some people have gotten up to $500. I don't really see the point anyway because the turn down rate is ridiculous, at least here in Texas from my experience. For example, they strictly want a water bill in your name. What they're looking for is located on any bill, including what is not considered a water bill. So their stance on water bills don't make sense because any bill will have that information. So people that have Apartments where they don't have to pay a water bill will be turned down. So the reality is that turning down more donors that they need. Thus, they are turning down the patients ultimately by denying them donors. That's a strange way to save a really care about people who need plasma. So if they don't care enough for the patients to make the turn down rate less and what is the point in giving plasma if you can't give it anyway?
@higurashianduminekoconnect1702
@higurashianduminekoconnect1702 Жыл бұрын
@melissamilam-hw9dt The turn down late is ridiculous because they want only a water bill at least here in Texas. By the way, that makes zero sense because all bills have what they're looking for to prove what they need. It sounds like a really strange way of saying that they care about people who need plasma because they are basically making turn down rates more often. If you have any bill it should be sufficed. However are only accepting that then that excludes people who live in apartment that get their water bill paid for. What should really get you turn down is if you have health problems.

Donating plasma can be beneficial particularly if you have "elevated autoantibodies" which is a "bad" form of antibodies (too many). I've been donating for the past 2 months (16 times so far) and I feel better in a number of ways (unlikely that I have elevated autoantibodies though). My blood pressure has never been better for starters. Donors just need to eat well and drink a ton of water. Donating has created new positive habits for me (like drinking more water and eating better)😀

Your blood has antibodies your plasma doesn't. I just feel weak after giving plasma. I know when you hit 62 or 3 they stop you from giving plasma. So they know it's not good for you actually but they aren't going to be explicit with what happens. I don't think Canadians are even able to get paid for giving plasma. The United States supplies many countries with life saving plasma and products.

At my plasma center they will let you donate into your 90s however past a specific age (maybe in the 60s) you need a yearly doctors not approving it. So they will drain anyone with doctors permission. I feel sad when I see an older person donating because it likely means they need the money. It could be that you’re just aging and your body and it’s systems aren’t functioning as well. I regularly lift weights and run and haven’t noticed any decline. Though I do wonder if it is lowering my testosterone as within the plasma there are hormones that get taken with it. As far as feeling sick after, do you honestly eat a clean diet? If not you should definitely do so but if you do already eat clean avoid really fatty foods before and after I generally have some egg whites and avocado before and I eat some soup with lean chicken or turkey afterwards. Beyond that maybe try increasing the time between donations giving your body more time to recover. Best of luck to you ✌️

I've been donating almost 2x weekly for about 2.5 years with a month or two break each year. I notice I feel light headed for like ~2 hours after. I also feel a bit tired like I'm ready for bed even though it's only 3hr into my day. I DON'T throw up though. I do notice my body had trouble maintaining protein but I also lift a few times a week so that takes protein. Good luck with asking a doctor. My doctor said they don't know how much is too much and if I feel bad take a break. I know the Red Cross only "recommends" donating like 15x a year or something. So that's a bit on my mind when I'm donating way over 70x. I'd take a good month or more off focus on quality sleep, high quality protein (meat based) and general nutrition. Are you physically pretty healthy? Are you younger than ~50? Maybe you are a bit old and it takes longer for your body to recover????🤷‍♂️

That's not how it works. When your body senses and invader, it produces the antibodies THEN. It's not like they are just floating around in your blood stream. Once the immune system knows which invader to attack, it produces cells specifically to attack that virus or bacteria. If you had attack cells floating around all the time, they would attack your own cells too.

The aging process seemed to stall from age 35 to 55 but let me tell you there is a price to pay for that. When it starts again it’s accelerated. She got wrinkles and crepey skin very quickly after it began. So you’ll probably notice it happening in what seems like “all of a sudden”. People who look their age, age in a more linear fashion. It happens at a steady pace so you don’t really notice it because it’s been happening slowly all along. So yes be prepared to suddenly notice a quick increase in wrinkles, etc if you’re one of those that always looked younger than their age. It happens eventually, regardless. What is the point when you're not there to really help the patients. What I mean by that is they require that, I mean, it doesn't matter if it has the exact same information that they're looking for. Nope, it's got to be a water bill. Which makes no sense because if it has the exact same stuff they're looking for on other bills, then it's just a needless turn down rate. So they're not helping anybody as much as they like them because they're turning down way too many people to really make a difference. At least, that's my experience here in Texas. If you want to give plasma and Texas you better, make sure you're not in an apartment that pays your water. If they can make that big of a chance for turn down the rates, then they don't care about the patients who need it anyway, So why even waste our time giving plasma when most people will be turned down?
@MHK956
@MHK956 Жыл бұрын
Not completely true. I'm in Texas as well, and it doesn't have to be just a water bill. It can be any proof of address. Any utility bill will do, and for those whose bills aren't under their name, it can be any postmarked letter, as long as the name and address matches what they have on file and as long as it's postmarked within the last 60 days. Meaning: you can literally send a letter to yourself and as long as it's postmarked within that time period, it's valid. Let's not mis-inform people, please.

@@successbootcampyeah you’re helping someone alright. Helping multi billion dollar companies become even richer. If they are gonna put your health at serious risk they need to fucking pay some real money like 200$ each donation. They turn around and sell it for 5000$ why is that fair that they think it’s ok to pay 50$ each time and want you to come in twice a week. You know what I see every time I go to donate? I see a bunch of cattle lining up to slowly get slaughtered. It takes literally hours where I live in Amarillo everyone goes because everyone is hurting very badly for money.

Yes. Not hurt but it leaves it weak. The worker told me plasma IS your immune system in simplistic terms. During the EVENT I stopped donating for a few months. Ended up catching it during that time and made a full recovery. If you are old or weak DON'T DONATE. Or take lots of breaks if you are worried.

I dont understand why the crying about the money. If it was a mandatory thing then yes complain all you want but it's not. It's totally voluntary. Whoever wants to goes and whoever doesn't then dont. People want to get paid as if it were a full-time job, for 4 hrs per week of their time. What they do with it afterwards I really don't care as long as I'm getting paid. Yes it's not a lot but it sure helps for a bill, gas or takeout.
