I’m sorry, I know it’s not warranted or needed but I just have to get this out of my system. I understand the hesitancy into talking with a neurodivergent person like this, like raising your voice or feeling like you’re ‘bullying’. But as someone who is neurodivergent, specifically autistic, sometimes you just shouldn’t hold back on us. Be blunt, be straight forward, tear into us like one would do to anyone else. I get frustrated dealing with other fellow autistic people and I feel like I also have to walk on eggshells at times. But then I think ‘would I want to be treated like this?’ No, I don’t. I wouldn’t. So I don’t. Unless someone has a severe neurological disorder that makes them unable to fully grasp what is being said to them or impairs their judgement completely, just rip and tear man. Autism needs to stop being used as an excuse for ‘not understanding’ things. Though, to others reading, this doesn’t give an excuse to be openly ableist to neurodivergent folk. Just don’t treat us like we’re stupid. We can handle things better than people think. And brutal honesty is sometimes what people NEED to hear. Sorry for basically venting this into your comment section but listening to all of this with this dingus got to me a little lol. So sorry you, Peaches and others had to deal with this weirdo.

Frankly, I honestly think that it’s ableist to not only assume that we wouldn’t understand the consequences of our actions, but also doing it as a means of handholding, or being too overly nice when dealing with criticism. Adding onto this sometimes the ONLY way I’m able to look at a situation from a different perspective is through tough love or harsh criticism. I know it’s not every autistic person’s experience but for me that bluntness is both a sign of respect towards me and also makes it easier to understand through emphasis. Sugar coating it just makes it confusing and leads to further confusion for me. I feel like it should be commonly understood that when you start tap dancing around the issue ( not you, just in general, just to clarify) to save my feelings then I’m not actually being told properly what issues people have with my actions, but the amount of times I’ve been straight up baby talked in business settings ( like actual offices and job interviews) as soon as I mention it is way too many times.

@@DarkShadliyfr, I understand if his autism makes executing the tasks hard (be it sensory issues, or just physically not feeling able to do it), since I am autistic and STRUGGLE to take care of myself, but DAMN is this guy entitled as shit. Like, I struggle doing my laundry because of physical disabilities from comorbidities of my autism, I have to go down a flight of stairs with balance issues, and constant anxiety/paranoia of falling, and the chronic pain that comes from lifting/moving around. I also lost my great grandmother as a teenager, but never really ‘had her’ to begin with thanks to Alzheimer’s. She effectively spent my entire life in an assisted living facility, where she wasn’t expected to live 9 months, but made it 9 years. I hated to visit her because of the pain of not being remembered, the very overwhelming smell of the home, and how scared the other old folks would make me feel when they’d yell. That being said, I WISH I had time with her before she was effectively gone before she died. Same with my great grandfather, since seeing my grandfather (his son) still mourning him a year later is just so hard. That poor lady doesn’t deserve this guy.

tbh i think it can happen due to projection and unresolved trauma which isn't always a crush thing per say but definitely isn't HEALTHY. that's a sign of a bigger issue and unfair to everyone involved. tho truth is, there doesn't need to be a crush aspect for that to be phenomenally creepy!! as projecting yourself/a loved one/a parental figure etc onto a stranger and getting fixated emotionally is still very intimate invasive and inappropriate. in all sincerity i'd wish one well in therapy for that but it needs to be a wake up call that you're mistreating this poor random person by making them part of your emotional baggage and need to leave them alone

Veritas should be shown as a cautionary tale when it comes to parasocial behaviour. Fans are NOT entitled to a celebrity, and worshiping them as gods is a HUGE red flag - they're human and have flaws just like the rest of us. It's clearly obvious that Veritas has some issues to sort out and REALLY needs to touch grass. If he hadn't been stopped by Lio, Doodle and the others, who knows what he would've done to "defend" Peaches honour and all the other things that he did.

When I first watched doodles video about him I got immediately creeped out by the video he made announcing that he was going to stop defending peaches and that he hoped that her friends and family could protect her much better than he ever could. Yea, one of my sweetest dearest friends is Palestinian. Lives in Gaza. And it's horrific that people think the actions of a military group justify the literal genocide of innocent people, or that they 'deserve it'. But even if she is all that, this is still a woman who took him in as a toddler, raised him when his parents wouldn’t, and seems to truly love him. Even small actions like hanging up fresh laundry after washing all of it, and asking what you’d like for breakfast, those are small ways to say “I care about you”. She quite honestly just might be old and a little stuck in her ways, as most people from that generation are. She probably isn’t intentionally malicious or all that, just ignorant. Maybe Veritas should talk with her instead of shitting on her in private to strangers.

When I pause, I legitimately try to answer the best I can. He only answers in a tone of "I don't give a ****" and that shows he knows what's going on. As someone who is also on the spectrum I get it with hyper fixations, it's hard to explain why or how they come to be. However that being, hyper fixations with things and people are completely different in my mind. With people it's a weird grey area, their is a line between being a really big fan and just being creepy. Not even 20 mins in (knowing myself I’ll probably take two days to watch this) but in highschool we had this class called “character education” which was a class to teach us how to resolve problems, how to tell someone when they upset you, how some social interactions can happen and how we can be more successful in our own social lives. I used to think it was a silly class, thinking it was all common sense. My dad told me “I know that YOU know those things, that’s how we raised you. But some people really have never been told that something they did was wrong, if no one tells you, how do you know you’re doing something wrong? For one reason or another they made it to this point without guidance, so you have to tell people at the very least. This class is probably gonna help someone who hasn’t had anyone to tell them differently.” Anyway, Lio! Thank you for being kind and caring enough to tell someone when they’re doing something wrong! There's a lot of talk in the comments about neruodivergent habits & wanted to throw my hat in the ring coming from someone who is also neurodivergent. When it comes to people on the spectrum there's a lot of ways to describe the common pattern of being focused on select things: hyperfixation, special interest, etc. The biggest aspect when it comes to anything falling within these habits/actions/labels is checking whether the person is exploring those things in a healthy way. Obviously there's a lot of healthy ways to explore this: various illustrative means, analysis essays, sculpting or building, small projects reflecting the source material or parodies, edit videos/compilations, so on & so forth. There's also a lot of really unhealthy ways to explore these things: obsessive behaviors fall under this, aggression towards opposition, blind defending regardless on morals, self destructive tendencies, etc. That's the kinda stuff you really gotta stand firm on otherwise it does fuel the notion that the behaviors are acceptable in some way. (btw this whole thing isn't to throw shade at the way Lio handled this, because it is extremely difficult to break that kinda mentality out of someone especially if they've been fed the notion that it's okay for an extended period of time. And based on the way Veritas described high school it wouldn't surprise me if they were acting like their current day self the same as back then too.)
