I'm glad they did some transforming as part of their act. Natural for a Veritech/Valkyrie, and the animator got it right. I'd love to see more!

The first "animation" I did was a Valkyrie shooting a Battle Pod from the deck of Macross, written in BASIC on a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model III. Pretty much the animation was the the GU-11 firing rounds at the Battle Pod with grey dots moving slowly across the B&W screen. This was amazing.

It does not look real at all. There are a lot of details missing that really let this down. One being that the wheels do not rotate while moving, and that the nose gear does not turn during turns. Little things like that are real immersion breakers. Then there are the blurry textures in the close up shots. No, this doesn't look real but it is still very good.

Nice animation, and great texturing! I think you might benefit from looking at how real jet fighters fly a bit more. They all fly nose high, not directly along the centerline. From the VF-1 models produced that actually fly, they fly a bit more nose-high than most fighter jets due to the lack of horizontal stabalizers and using vectored thrust to perform that function. traditionally, this is called "Angle of attack" or the angle at which the wing needs to be at for the air passing under it to provide the appropriate amount of lift to keep your aircraft in the air. (more nerdy explanation of AoA here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angle_of_attack) When in space of course, totally fly along the line created by the two points, center of mass and center of thrust. (they need to be aligned along the centerline of the direction of travel or you spin in great big circles...)

This mostly looks great. The thing that stuck out for me most was the lack of inertia in the movement of the craft. I'm not very familiar with Macross so maybe that is how it is drawn in the anime, but it seemed way too precise and as a result unconvincing. Keep up the good work though!

Are you going to use other VF models like more of the modern Variable Fighter models like the VF-31,YF-29 VF-27 Sv-262 ect. That would be amazing as I did see you use the VF-25 in one of your other Macross videos.

I'm sorry but there is an obvious inconsistency in this video: from the images in which the two Patriot fighters take off, you can see that in the lower part there are two head guns instead of one. This suggests that they are two VF-1J but, in the final scenes, in which they can be seen in battroid mode, they are clearly VF-1A.

It looks like the model has extra winglets on the legs, there should only be one winglet on each leg, which is on the outer leg, where as your model has winglets on both the inner and outer leg.
