Why did people expect Jacaerys’s dragon egg not to hatch? Even if Laenor was not his biological father, he has Targaryen blood from Rhaenyra’s side that makes it possible for him to be a dragon rider..

Because sometimes eggs don't hatch for even Targs, it's not a promised thing, sometimes they're just placed in cribs as tradition, and don't hatch and the kids may go on to claim another dragon when older even and alot of Targs aren't Dragonriders at all. It's rare for an egg to hatch with a baby Targ like Syrax and Rhaenyra did together and even then you wait years for a child to bond with the dragon for obvious reasons, they usually wait till age 7 to let a child claim their dragon even if born with it. Female Targs are needed for dragon egg hatching, The Targs encouraged female rights more than Westerosi people for that reason, because the women were Dragonriders and important for dragon hatching, if a female Targ is near there's more chance they will hatch so I think him being half Targ and a male makes people doubt his dragon blood and bonding ability. Queen Rhaena stayed on dragonstone because it helped dragons hatch and she wanted as many as possible on her side. Dragons choose their rider not the other way around so as much as I love Rhaes kids from Harwin, it's valid to question whether they could be dragon riders or that the egg would hatch for Jace given his half blood and the low possibility of being a Dragonrider as it was. Not everyone's guaranteed to claim or hatch a dragon. Rhaenyras presence and the other Targ women near the eggs just in my opinion probably helped them hatch more than an egg hatching for Jace specifically as prophecy, he just happened to sustain a bond with the dragon that hatched which is rare

I don’t think Silver wing refusing to not fly past the wall is meant to mean he doesn’t like the cold.I took it to mean either (A) it sensed some creature beyond the wall it didn’t want any part of or (B) the wall has “magic spells” that stops anything “magical”crossing it while it stands.thats what I took it to mean atleast.

Why would he participate in the battle when they had 3 grown up battle tested dragons ?? Why didn’t Jacaerys think of providing back up for the Rhaenys when she and her dragons were outnumbered ?? Had they backed up Rhaenys against Vhagar and Sunfyre , they would have get rid of Aemond and Aegon already and the war could have been over ….

@@sumanbaral8457 because he had sent his younger brothers Aegon and Viserys away to safety on some ships but they were captured by the war fleet. He was a 17 year old kid who had just heard two of his siblings had been taken captive, and was fuming. Teenagers and children do not tend to make rational decisions, even at the best of times, and he was in a very stressful environment.

I think the answer to your last question is you can't order a dragon that isn't yours. So it falls on the living person who is a dragon rider and is the most powerful living kin. Visenya is the most powerful as she's the last one of the three, plus his wife. So she gets right to give the order. If she was dead, it would be the eldest son and so on etc. She cannot order another dragon to do something, as she is not bonded to them and isn't their rider. She can only order Vhagar to do things. Thus why Vhagar did it. (Though I wrote order, maybe I should've said ask as we know Vhagar does what she likes.) It would've been embarrassing to order another dragon and for them be like "No thank you. You ain't the boss of me." Hope this makes sense. (an example and spoiler for ep 1 HOD) In the show, Rhaenyra gives the order as she's the closest dragon rider to the deceased. It would've been Viserys if he was still a dragon rider. But since he's not, it falls onto Rhaenyra to give the order. Thus hers is the dragon who sets the pyre alight.

I say "real story" because we're supposed to take the show as canon due to the fact that F&B is written by a character who wasn't around for any of the history and was going from sources who wasn't there either. So it's a book of rumours and hearsay. So I'm really interested in seeing how they'll approach this. I think it's interesting that there are mutiple versions despite there being so many witnesses or maybe that's why there are so many versions of how they both meet their end! And I reckon Aemond will pretend that the whole situation that happened was on purpose, at least in public. He will own it publicly (thus why the book stated he did it on purpose), though I'm wondering whether he'll ever admit to his family that it wasn't on purpose. It'll be interesting if his character admits to that as he very much leans harder into that reputation later.

He wasn't going on a holiday lol he used diplomacy to bring most supporters on his mom's side which eventually ended up being the reason why his brothers got to sit on the throne & aegon ll's death. He also fought for his brothers & died trying to save them. He wasn't sitting in kingslanding infact except rhaenyra no one was. All of them gave their all. & Greens literally had vhagar on their side.

@@sumanbaral8457 but they would not have matched south if Jace didn't come to convince them. Remember how the blacks have always been somewhat separated from the rest of Westeros. Like at the end of GoT, they even ask to be there own kingdom. And because they did the war ends with Aegon 3 not Aegon 2 on the throne. Yes the blacks didn't use their dragons to the fullest. But remember from the beginning, Rhaenyra didn't want to use dragons for war. She wants to preserve the dragons for the long night as she was told by her father Viserys. Meanwhile the greens just went all out for war and get all their dragons killed. They also ignite the war by killing the first dragons and a Rhae's son, making her even more reclutant to use her sons in warfare and her sons' dragons are all babies. Caraxes and Meleys were the most formidable and they did participated, only to commit suicide mission in a 2vs1 and 1vs1 (against a much bigger opponent). The greens had never planned to play it square and fair anyway. Hiding in Dragonstone and waiting to ambush them after the blacks lose all their dragons. Why didn't he fly back to take King's Landing then...well, maybe because Vhagar no longer exists and he knows without Vhagar the greens are nothing.
