Full recipe for Vermicelli upma
Prep time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
• Vermicelli 1 cup
• Oil 2 tbsp
• Cumin seeds (jeera) 1 tsp
• Mustard seeds 1 tsp
• Whole dry red chilli 2-3 nos. (broken)
• Green chillies 1-2 nos. (chopped)
• Curry leaves 7-8 nos.
• Peanuts 1/4th cup (crushed)
• Carrot 1.2 cup (grated)
• Sweet corn ½ cup
• French beans ½ cup
• Capsicum ½ cup
• Turmeric ½ tsp
• Red chilli powder 1 tsp
• Ketchup 2 tsp
• Red chilli flakes 1 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Lemon juice 1 tsp
• Water 2 cups
• Fresh coriander 1 tbsp (chopped)
Methods:
• Dry roast the vermicelli until it turns light brown.
• Heat oil in a wok add Cumin seeds, Mustard seeds, Whole dry red chilli, Green chillies and curry leaves, sauté them for 1-2 minutes.
• Add crushed peanuts and veggies, sauté them on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
• Add the powdered spices, ketchup and chilli flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes.
• Add the roasted vermicelli, salt and lemon juice, stir and cook for a minute.
• Add water and mix well, cover and cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes. Stir in between and cook till the water is been absorbed by the vermicelli.
• Add freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

Not required for adding Pav Bhaji masala. It doesn't remain as Upma then. Upma concept does not have garan masala or any other masala in it.

@@vidyaasvideos we add masala for flavor as this vermicelli upma doesn't have any flavor.Anyways everybody has their own way of making same recipe.Thank you.

@@NivisFood upma is not supposed to have flavour. The curry leaves, onions and the basic mustard seeds etc flavor is supposed to be dominant. That is the concept of Upma dear. It is eaten when we don't keep well like the khichadi or something. It is not supposed to be oily also. You can add veggies for slight variation but you can't undo the dish.

I am a south Indian, we make this all the time. Nobody here adds corn and ketchup. This is a very basic recipe with less masala for Breakfast. No additional masala required.

Recipe is sooperb but don't put coriander leaves in upma. It's a little suggestion. Coriander put other flavours down...

Coriander enhances the flavor without which the upma feels that something is missing! If u don't want it, don't add it!

Too much water maybe? Try roasting with little butter and add water as needed while cooking...

You need to work on your video speed, when you are adding ingredients that time speed is too fast, and other snapshots are on slow mode..it will definitely break the viewers mood to choose your receipes...think 100 times before editing video
