A fan pointed out that the reason Sigmar doesn't answer in the citadel of eternity, is that at that point in the endtimes storyline he was possessing Karl Franz. He was no longer able to appear to give aid, but of course like any tragedy, Saltz doesn't know this, and thinks he is being abandoned...

That hasn't happened yet. So Sigmar is still trapped in the Vortex. Time has advanced but not enough for Sigmar-Franz to be around. As we went from wall to keep Sylvania in to a wall to keep Chaos out.

Poor Saltzpyre, I feel something bad will happen to him at the end of Vermintide franchise, these lines testify his slow descent into uncertainty and for a Witch hunter being uncertain is a major weakness, even worse he is doubting his comrades, if he continues down this path it will become easier for the Chaos gods to find a weakpoint in the group. Let's hope our favourite Witch Hunter finds his unyelding resolve again, for these are... the End Times.

Imho, it's less a crisis of faith and more the lurking realization that the order of the silver hand is not the answer. I truly believe he will become a warrior priest after all. Truly serving Sigmar. His dreams (and kerrilians) about blood are, Imho, caused by constant drachenfels, who tries to weaken our heroes. In the end, the final lines are very telling. His faith is restored.

To me, these voice lines tell me that Saltzpyre's either scared or going insane. And he's holding onto his faith of Sigmar as his last anchor. A lot of CW lines that all the characters have foreshadow something big on the horizon, be it careers or something more grandiose.

Ill give it a huge guess and say its going towards his career. The Witch Hunters know of his existemce due to Kruber within a voice line in the Chaos Wastes. These voice lines proove that Saltz' faith is either fading or becoming corrupt. Something is definitely going to happen, espiecially since the End Times dont go well for the Empire.

I've been having a theory that Saltzpyre's fourth career may be a Wolf Priest, partly because he mentions he comes from Middenland in a dialogue with Kruber. Considering Sigmar didn't answer his prayers at the citadel (he may have been busy with Franz at the time), Victor may seek the blessings of Ulric instead, his homeland's patron God. Edit: Well, this aged like milk. But I'll be damned if I'm one to complain! GLORY TO SIGMAR!

Not only that but the way he mentions blood sounded as if he was hungry and wanting. AND the whole " Flexible" thing in the endtimes the vampires are against chaos and fight by the side of the empire for the betterment of the world becoming a vampire wouldnt be as heretical as it normally is because they are fighting for the same goal of survival.

Something I love about the setting is how much religion factors into it. Faith is a important factor to many characters and dialog like this can really relate in one way or another. ...Course, when your fate in this universe is based on literal dice rolls, faith might be all you have between a miracle and the laughter of haunting gods.

I loved how these voice lines showed up before we knew saltzs 4th career, so people were just assuming that he was turning evil and demonic. Someone even threw around the idea of him turning into a vampire lord. But then, THE PRIEST OF THE GOD EMPEROR CAME DOWN ONTO OUR LIFES AS HIS HAMMER AND FAITH DOES ON RAT SCUM AND EVIL WORSHIPPERS!! this very much sounds more like a hint to saltzpyre's next career class, which if that's the case, could be only one thing The Warrior Priest, or actually even a Wolf Priest of Ulric, THAT would actually be interesting as we have The Fanatic, which would already be his faith in Sigmar, but we've NEVER seen much of anything about Ulric, not even from Kruber and he's much closer to that god than the others have been.

I feel like this is a teaser for his fourth career, although i'm not familiar with warhammer to make any guesses as to what it may be.
