Big paragraph time of my thoughts on the entire situation(s) Clip 1 - I think the biggest mistake you made was engaging them in the first place. Sometimes you gotta know when to stand your ground, but you also gotta know when to cut your losses and bail. The fact that they became so aggressive so fast meant that they were most likely gonna be unwilling to change their mind, and at that point you just gotta bail because no matter what you say they will never change their minds. You also mentioned that they prolly had some situations where elfs fucked them over for the past few games, and if that was the case thats even MORE reason to just leave instead of attempting to argue with them, because they have their mind set on "elf died elf bad blame elf" and nothing will make them listen to reason Clips 2 w/ Shade - I think again the biggest mistake you made was engaging with the Shade player too much. There isn't a problem with saying something once or twice as a reminder or in a gentle way, but as you got more and more annoyed your messages began to reflect that, and over text that can easily be interpreted as being aggressive and angry. The shade player was in the wrong, but regardless of that whenever humans are met with hostility we tend to shield ourselves from it and begin to defend ourselves in anyway possible which is why the shade began getting aggressive back. I can also guarantee you the reason for the wipe during the athel run wasn't because of the Shade rushing ahead, but because the hostility between the two of you grew so intense that it made the other two players uncomfortable, tanking their performance as players and both you and the shade were upset, and we ALL know anger and annoyance makes us play worse. At the end the shade went way out of line, but the saltz should've made the lobby private to avoid that (idk why he didn't), but imo the entire situation could've been avoided if you either just left after the first one or two reminders, or if you just stuck with the other three and pretended like the shade wasn't there, not saving her or wasting the group's supplies on her. Clip 3 - This is a situation in which different people with varying levels of skill would have different opinions on. For people like you and I who have thousands of hours in the game, patrols are super easy to kill and pose no real threat if you engage them first on your own terms instead of letting them pass then accidently pulling them at a bad moment. For people with less time and less confidence though, patrols are terrifying and you gotta hide from them so it doesn't turn into an instant wipe. If you and I were in that game together, I would've also pulled the patrol and seeing you do it wouldn't have brought anything to mind, because I know who are you. I know how much time you've invested in the game, I know you know what you're doing, and I know you can easily take care of that patrol. Those two in the game however do not know who you are, and to them you are just some random elf player doing typical toxic elgi things like pulling patrols. My suspicion is that those two were in comms together and up until that point were talking about you running ahead and how they were annoyed but wouldn't say anything, and when you pulled the patrol they figured you were just gonna instantly die and decided to give up. This is why whenever I play with people I don't know I hide from patrols, I get made fun of for it but it prevents things like this from happening. This is more of a players with different skill levels have different opinions and playstyles, so i don't really think anyone is at fault here. Also, I can't think of a way to put this lightly, so I will just say it up front: You pulling the Hours played and youtuber cards makes you look really bad, and gives off the 'dickish elitist" vibe. Most people don't bring up hours played out of the blue unless they're trying to rub it in someone's face, so whenever people see someone do that they instantly assume that person is a dick and will dismiss them. To you it might seem like a valid reason for people to trust you, because in all of these situations you were right, but to others it comes across in a very different way that paints you in a negative light. I believe that you bringing up the hours/youtuber cards actually made things worse and made people more hostile to you since they automatically assumed you're a dick, and my advice would be to never pull those cards to try and prove a point because it doesn't actually do anything beneficial. Not trying to attack you or anyone else with this, these are just my observations and opinions as a third party taking a look at it from a different perspective

I wish I could respond to the whole thing but had quite a few similarly length comments and it would require a whole essay hehe :D To your last point though I couldn't agree more... That's why I said I'm not proud of that. It's just a fact that my head if frustrated can default to that thought in order to move on quickly. Not an excuse though. I myself find it disgusting but I choose to keep it in there partially to show that no one is perfect and even a nice guy (i think I am at least xD) can have a bad day or get annoyed into oblivion :P anyways appreciate the comment mate and thanks for watching!

I'm playing Legend even after 940 hours on Vermintide 2, so I happen to encounter all kind of players. I never hesitate to communicate with them, and if they seem to struggle, I'm always nicely providing advices. If someone is rushing, I'm kindly asking them to please stay with the group. If someone can't stay on their feet, I'm always trying to stick by their side to help them. At each drop, I'm always waiting for the last player before going down. I'm very talkative in general, and very often everything goes well. However if someone clearly does not seem to read the chat and does not act when the rest of the team requests something (even with the social wheel in case they can't speak english), I don't hesitate to start a vote to kick. I'm extremely friendly with new players or players with bad habits because we all started somewhere, as long as they are willing to communicate. Today I played with three random players on a quick game, we started Old Haunts and two of them grunted at the starting screen saying we won't be making it at the last event, there were very unsure of themselves. I assured them that we will, and explained just before the last event what was the plan : I carry the heads, we stick together, if someone has monks he stays on block and the others help him, once the last heads are placed we hug a corner until the access opens, then to remember the strat on the monks afterwards. Nobody went on the ground, they were very pleased. I love this game, because it's a teamplay game before everything else. And I love playing with players with less experience to help them getting better and gaining confidence, and provide advice if they want them. I also love playing with players that know what they are doing, and which are playing also with and for the team. And the vast majority of players I'm encountering on Legend are in one of these categories. But yeah, when I encounter those rare players which do not care about the others on the team and do not communicate at all, I kick them, to have a better time, and also to let real teamplayers join us.

I have 2500 hours on that game and usually only play with an organized group. Sometimes we take on one random, its absolutely horrible what people are trying to get themselves carried through cataclysm maps. Most of them dont even know any basics of the game, like staying close to your team or not run off alone or not to push forward during a horde on a possible boss spawn point. Dont even get me started on falling back when a teammate dies to make him spawn closer, they have never heard of that or thought for themselves. Maybe 1 out of 10 plays half decent, the rest would not even be good enough for legend. We ask one time to stay with the team, then we remove, you cant carry people so easily anymore on cata, most times you are better off with a bot instead.
@ThePartyKnife
@ThePartyKnife 4 жыл бұрын
@@mynoxx01 But you play cataclysm for the challenge extra challenge do you not? :) Because legend is too easy and you breeze through it. Most people are willing if you are polite and request that they don't rather than command them. Not saying you are doing that and although I agree your chances of winning could easily be higher with a bot I still think that's the wrong way to go about it. Something like 30%-50% of skill in this game is purely based of off your team awareness and ability to keep a mental tab on everyone's location and condition. And I dare say that if you can do it with a bot you can do it with a dead teammate. :D Let them die on their own first and they might be more inclined to listen to your proposition if you are polite about. Educating the community is the best way forward if you ask me although as my video clearly showed that just isn't always possible... :D But quite often it is. Again I don't know you or the situations you have been in or how they were handled. But I think it's important to remember that they have as much right to be in that game as you do. And if every team kicks you because your bad It can be both demotivating but also really hard to ever know when you are good enough. In my opinion if you haven't lost 2 matches because of them yet then you haven't given them a chance. :) Just my 2 cents
@mynoxx01
@mynoxx01 4 жыл бұрын
@@ThePartyKnife To be honest, I dont even care if they are good in the sense of skill or not, we are already highly pleased and happy when this random person stays with the team and look behind them here and there to see whats going on and what their team is doing. They dont even have to be good in the sense of battle skills, I totally respect that. I just cant stand when people join the game and then ruin it for everyone else. Thats in my opinion already all the skill you need to survive cata and you should have learned those basics already on recruit. We usually call them one way randoms, they never even look behind themselves, they only know one direction to move to. Yea we play cata for the challenge, even better with weekly or twitch but not necessarily for the social challenge. I do agree with most of your points tho, I know you dont get the amount of views for videos you actually deserve, but I really do appreciate them a lot!

I am a bit confused. Is this a self reflection video and you realize that you were exhibiting the same bad behavior? Is this a video to say that let everyone play as they like no matter how much they damage the team? I mean when you were playing shade you were doing the thing you stated earlier not to do. Shade being one of the fastest should be in the back. Yet, you always were in front. It is terrible that the wizard decided to shoot everyone rather than to explain her frustration. Sounds like a three year old's behavior. But, you were always in the front. You decided on your own to take on a patrol. I am in awe of your skills. I hope to be as good as you someday. Yet I am baffled by what you were trying to achieve with this video. Anyway, love your stuff. It has improved my gameplay tons by watching you. Keep up the good work!

I was indeed doing the same (although to a lesser degree to be fair) but the major difference was that no one had asked me or indicated in any way that they wanted me to slow down. I wasn't at all as far away at any point, never lost line of sight for more than a second. Not defending the fact that it surely was annoying to them that I was in the front but I did concern myself with where my team was as well. I looked back to make sure everyone could keep up multiple times. As for the overall idea of the video. I think it's something along the lines of: Don't be a dick for no reason, if people are dicks remember we all have bad days (and thus can be dicks) if were in a bad mood or get particularly annoyed, and most important of all. Care about, listen, and communicate with your team. Most people have no ill intent and 4/5 annoying teammates can be fixed with a polite suggestion. :) Also thanks for watching and im glad you are enjoying the videos!

to be fair these kind of toxic behaviour are rare in vermintide; personally i've experience thet 1-2 out of 10 quickplays, with a gg at the end, and these 2 are usually a moment when someone says something and that, either upsets the others and we all lose, or everyone just brushes it, we continue and we either win or lose. They are rarer the times when i've found people go full toxic like these replay, and usually at that point i just leave because everyone's consentration is just lost. or, in other words: ''We're stronger together: COME BACK HERE'' -Markus Kruber

Firstly that was a fun video to watch but to the point at the end about not having any obligations to anyone I would say, when you decide to play a team game you actually do have an obligation to at least try to be an effective member of the team. When someone isn’t as skilled at the game communication is what bridges those gaps and if someone on your team is making suggestions and other people are agreeing with them, common sense would dictate that you’re not fulfilling your obligation to the team. It’s okay to suck at the game it’s not okay to suck as a person when you play a team game, there’s plenty of solo games for people who can’t play well with others.

So I'm no expert considering I'm just starting to hold my own on legend but to me the elf that's continually charging ahead is probably a reeeeeally good legend player. However from what I've been told and have learned it seems like cata is far more of a team game than legend and this punishes people who try to be the best all the time. I think if he wants to be a god he should drop to champ or maybe legend but cata is for team play and the best players are the ones who live.

Just trying to give you another person's perspective. May not apply to your situation, but if you only play ranged characters, you might not know that it is super annoying when you get to a melee range of a small group of weak enemies only to see them shot down by a swift bow wielding waystalker. Some of us simple peasants have to spend some time moving in range to avoid wasting precious ammunition. Obviously does not apply to specials, but if that melee character is confident enough may also apply to the elites.

@@SchmillyTV Who knows what else happened. You could have asked then, but the only thing left to do now is to forget it. I wasn't saying that it's necessarily you fault. Griefing without explaining what's wrong first is always bad and that dwarf is guilty of at least of that. I always look at a waystalker-Kerillian as a specials killer, thus killing a leech is always appreciated. It's when she steals trash mob kills to announce "my quiver is dry" as the specials come I might get a little annoyed. Different people play her differently. I like her sniping bow for specials and elites with sword and dagger for trash mobs. Her melee weapons are also fun to use and she still gets headshot bonuses. I hate the swift bow, but it's my opinion and I never reproach others for using it.

I want to share a memory of mine with you guys too. I was a V1 veteran and i didnt bought V2 till range meta is broken with a major update. Coz i didnt like the games status and wanted to give time. I knew basics of V2 when i started. As soon as available for my newly aquired V2 account, i started to play legend and high end games like twitch intervetions stuff. I was just 15 level with almost no items, lacking new games experience and i joined a quickplay. Those guys were fairly good and playing legend with ultra twitch intervention setting. I tried my best to keep up with them. Heeded their advices and stuff but i died a lot. At one point, they started to mock me like t-bagging, resurrection cancelling, harrassing with chat. You get the picture. And they "adviced" me to not play ranger veteran and kicked me out of the game. But there was one person in that team mocking me the most, added me from steam. I wasnt sure what was his intention. This person never communicated me for a couple months. But still was in my friend list. But during this time, i was so triggerred and practiced a lot. We got the "Back to Ubersreik" content, i completed the wave map on legend, got the portrait but i was still a ranger vet player. Sure i could play other classes but, suddenly the guy asked me to join their game, "politely" At this point i was even doing true soloes. Thats how much proggress i made. I accepted and join the their hellish game. There wasnt cata or onslaught at that time. Again, ultra twitch settings and legend. I was playing odd careers and weird weapons for their tastes yet again but with the experience i gained, i started to carry them. Clutching intense situations and shit. And i become their regular player. We played so many games together. But within all those interractions, i always kept myself cool and never revealed my frustrations. At some point, i mentioned about first time we played. You know, the game sets which they mocked me hardcore. They stated they dont remember it, dont wanna remember it. They "admitted" they should'nt act like that (kind of) and the case was closed. We were "buddies." My point here is simple. I was just playing V2 for like may be 20h when i meet with those guys. I was inexperienced and admitedly a noob. But this is not a weakness. The experience come with time. You should give newcomers a chance and never mock them coz their lack of game experience. This is the main toxicity in our community. Even though i stopped playing since WoM update but i still consider myself as a member of this community.

So did I my friend. And whilst I get where you are coming from I don't think it's the community being more toxic on an individual plane. It's just that MOBA games in general are set up in such a way that it almost forces the worst out in people in solo que. Because in MOBA games (and specifically dota 2 and HoN the ladder of which I played professionally for a few years) forces solo que players into scenarios where no one on the team wants to support. And unlike a game such as battlerite where the farming has been removed allowing for quick games, in dota and lol and hon you are quite often forced to sit there for 45-60 minutes in absolute agony and be content with fighting unfair battles as the enemy team gets fatter and fatter all whilst you argue over calls, vision, farming and finally when you simply want to concede you now have the same teammates who called the min15 vote refusing out spite xD As much as I loved it's competitive element It's just a toxic game, not a toxic community.

Find myself deliberately trying to prove myself right when another player does something i disagree with.. an example i feel i have to explain to legend players not to rush in skittergate, not to take both grims, leave the ammo and any pot dropped this side of skittergate, save barrels, focus wizard# one in each corner... any deviation from these rules i have created myself gets me triggered.. But someone joined me and also needed to complete skittergate so hung around after we failed a mission, i was alittle embarrassed to give my full list of tips again, as they also agreed with most of them. But i mentioned not needing both grims but an elf shade picked up the first grim jumped down triggered a boss died in horde and left, which we both laughed about after clearing through the elfs mistake.. Anyway basically i let go of my list after a 3rd run as i notice this guy getting triggered as we lost right at end as nobody listened about controlling 4 corners.. they left but i was determined to complete. This run i just focused on my own game healing people, giving potions, getting tome, killing loot rat, hanging back to look after barrels after rest of party left them.. and it went much more smoothly.. Its hard to control what others do but like you say communication is crucial, at high level i think all players need to take the game seriously minus distractions and know how to play as a team. In your last example u dropped before party and triggered a monster.. so can understand why sienna was triggered when you dropped at next drop to trigger a patrol before anyone could stop u.. yes what they did to you was kinda ott..

Seems odd that so many people have a problem with the community in this game. I play only cata now and find a lot of the same players in my games, all of them are super cool. Even when I played legend the occasional toxic player was so rare to actually find. Even when someone is toxic, they are almost always calmed quickly with a nice word or an explanation. I truly believe the people who think the community is toxic are toxic themselves and their interactions with others simply reflect that. I have found so many amazing people playing this game, made lots of new friends, and have enough experience to know that if someone is refusing to adapt when the team is struggling, they simply aren't a good teammate and aren't worth wasting time with. Usually in my experience when someone in cata is playing wrong its actually just because they are inexperienced, and they're almost always open to hearing friendly advice if it's well-intentioned. If they aren't open to advice then they will never improve and you won't be seeing them around for long. Personally I love playing with worse players and helping them try to complete challenges or improve. I give as much relevant advice and tidbits as I can and I try to convince them that they will get so much better if they keep at it. They also are so grateful when I help them clear Convo or Skitter on cata for the frames which feels nice for me too :)

I pretty much agree with everything you just said. Like I don't the wins and I never cared about ''winning'' or ''losing''. Plenty of good games are lost and plenty of horrible ones are won. And I don't mind my team playing horribly and dying all the time. That's honestly fine by me because you at least get to play around it and try carry/clutch. But that type of positioning done by the shade doesn't just risk losing the game, it literally sucks out the fun for a lot of other players. So if you are going to take away other peoples then at the very least be skilled enough to not also drop the game. :P And listen to your teammates if they make a request.

@siege2310
@siege2310 4 жыл бұрын
I have 1300 hours in the game and I have done twitch and cataclysm an I completely agree on how important it is for a team to work together. So either players charging or just hanging back and shooting you by accident is really annoying. I have even had players be so toxic the team vote kicks them only so that they can join back and throw the match or chuck a grim. All I have to say is that for every annoying selfish toxic player I encounter, I meet so many more nice helpful kind and willing players who are all there to have a good time. However, I feel there is a balance that needs to be kept between enjoying yourself and making sure that you are playing in a way that means that your team is enjoying themselves too, so not being dead weight or having terrible positioning. The problem comes when you start thinking ‘I would rather have my Bot’ because that means the player is playing in a way that is negatively impacting the team. After all this is a team game and plenty of people want to have fun, plenty are trying to achieve things. So I support Party Knife in those situations and agree that you just gotta respect the way the other players want to play, particularly the host as it is their lobby you are in so if they say stick together, then stick together, or another big one has been if they say no books, you don’t ignore them and take books because you don’t like it. If you don’t like the way a lobby plays, find another lobby.

I deleted my comment after reading other comments. Guys, I haven't played with actually toxic people for a long time until one game recently (in which I was yelled at by the guy who used voip only after getting knocked down, to yell at poeple that they are useless because they shoot him and because (in my case) I was jumping like a monke when he wanted to heal me (which he didn't inform me about using any way of communication until he got killed)) The only visible flaw in the community that grinds my gears, but I don't tell people about it and let it slide when it happens, is when some players play badly on cata. Yes it can be annoying to lose because some kid always pulls patrols into monster fights, but instead of telling them something mean i opt for typing something along "XDDD should have not done that buddy, try this..." And usually they really want to listen and cooperate, and I fuckin' love this community when it happens. That is one more reason why I prefer playing with bots...
@ThePartyKnife
@ThePartyKnife 4 жыл бұрын
haha Yeah playing with bots is undoubtedly the easier of the two once you get a hang of it. But I would be careful not to overdo the bots runs for the same reason it's easier than having random teammates. And that's because you tend to lose your birdseye perspective. When you solo with bots your mind only has to focus on it's own crosshair and no matter where you position yourself your team automatically follows. That means your brain doesn't have to worry about gathering, building and interpreting the much more complex 3 dimensional imaginary simulation that is your perception to also include the location and state of 3 other unpredictable conscious beings. And true skill in vermintide and really in many other games is having the extra capacity in the midst of battle to access not just your own needs but your team's overall situation and then you have to react accordingly. The game is inherently predictable when you have 0 teammates and very few crucial decisions ever have to be made in the moment because you don't have any social stigma attached to leaving a bot or dying yourself. But the moment you have a team everything can change in a splitsecond because you have to choose between possibly dying to try and get your teammate up who might not even survive even if you manage to. In short, bot runs are good for practicing mechanical input skill but they lack the finer art of awareness and good decision making. Anyways thanks for watching m8 and sorry for the novel xD

Such toxic players should never be playing this game, and free some space for a good players. I don’t get why they were blaming you for rushing ahead, well... if you are a pro and know how to play for Shade, why do u have to slow down. The guy was wrong in shooting and killing you but he did tell you "come here" "come here" before and you completely disregarded that, for the very reason you speak about at the end: you thought it was a command and you reacted like "yeah yeah he's pissed but I know better because I have a metric fuckton of gameplay hours"
@ThePartyKnife

I agree with everything except the rush ahead part. I was no more than 3 seconds of movement away from them so I think it's inaccurate to say that I rushed ahead. However as I mentioned I can understand that he got frustrated but that still doesn't make it reasonable to go full jihad on the entire team including a bardin who had done absolutely nothing wrong. He could have simply told me and I would have stayed. The ''Come Here'' messages I don't even recall if I noticed them at the time but even if I did due to my ''metric ton'' xD of hours played in my mind we were perfectly fine. :D But as I said I understand why he got mad but he should have told me to slow down instead. But hard as it is in that scenario you have to realize that unless you and the teammate seem to get along first you are in no position (right or wrong) to tell him that mid game. And if you really want to you have to take the time to be almost absurdly polite about it. We tend to think we are good at taking criticism but the truth is when someone tries to give me a lesson in something in vermintide I would instantly in my mind default to thoughts like: WAT... DOES HE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW GOOD I AM?!?!? HE CAN'T POSSIBLY KNMOW SOMETHING I DON'T ok relax... relax... he doesn't know... before realizing ohh wait that's not an argument and maybe I had misunderstood something :P but mid game you only get halfway through that train of thought and because you lack the attention mid game to properly discuss things you very easily talk past one another and things get toxic. Anyways I appreciate your thoughts man and thanks for watching!

You have some patience to deal with such persons. First examples are the kind of people, I read a psychological study on when I was in the universty years ago. They existed long before the internet did. They will do whatever they want, and the moment they're the target of attention it's their win. This is what they want, to focus your negative emotions on them, stop enjoying yourself. The term killjoy exists to describe such individuals. Remove them from party, leave the party, block, and never engage again. For the sake of your own mental health. Or, the simpler TL;DR explanation I use on day-to-day basis, quote: "^%#&@&^!**731*!#8*****!!!!1111oneone". IRL you treat such people like air, and on the internet you should apply the same rule. Over the years I just lost all respect for such behavior. People who only want to get a kick out of making others miserable deserve one thing. I'd quote a splendid sentence uttered by Slavoj Zizek in one of his interviews, but what he said then, while very typical of central and eastern European people, would be, especially in the context discussed in the video, extremely shocking to those coming from the "softer" parts of the world.
@ThePartyKnife
@ThePartyKnife 4 жыл бұрын
Treat them like air if you must. That is certainly the better call for 90% of people in 90% of these situations. But I've always been of the firm belief that I have no right to complain about the behaviour of others if im not at the very least willing to put in the effort to try and change their mind through rational arguments. In my personal opinion there is no such thing as free will, thus no one really ''deserves'' anything. That doesn't mean we shouldn't jail criminals but the rational should always be doing it for the benefit of the society outside and not for the punishment of the criminal. At the end of the day you should feel sorry for these people instead of hatred. Mentally speaking cruel people more often than not aren't feeling well psychologically and even a murder or rapist was inherently unlucky to be born with his genes and perhaps as a clinical psychopath in extremely disturbing conditions some of which are social/political but many of which are also cultural. That's why it matters what we do in this world... It matters what we tell and teach our kids. And that's why changing the mind of even a single person through rational discussion and helping them understand scientific values is one of a very small number of ways I can hopefully leave this place just a tiny bit better than when I arrived. Lastly this patience is something I acquired and the crucial thing is to recognize the days you have it and the days you haven't :P Again I'm just a normal person and just as capable of getting pissed off and frustrated as anyone else :P but the halflife of negative emotions tends to be very short if you don't repeat them over and over in your head :D Anyways thanks for your comment and forw atching m8!
@tomasz9429
@tomasz9429 4 жыл бұрын
@@ThePartyKnife Well obviously we can try to rationalize with people. I believe in free will, contrary to you. And that people should pay, even with their own lives, for their crimes. According to the crime of course. But I agree with you on this - we can try rational discussion. However if you're being rational, and see somebody coming at you with "just run, just run, run, go, run" then... I don't know about you, but at this moment a tactical shovel opens in my pocket and all respect and rationale is replaced by silent contempt. I'm not unwilling to rationalize, I will simply not rationalize with people refusing to display any kind of respect. And this is of course another subject. What is respect? For me it's not some kind of virtuous treatment of other people. Everybody deserves the same kind of respect in my opinion: 1. not being insulted outright, 2. being given a chance to say what they want to say, no matter how stupid it may be and not being attacked for that in any other way than by counter arguments. Simple rules, I think. No matter if you chose to believe that we have free will, or chose to believe everything is predetermined. But if that's the case than was it really a choice? What a beautiful conundrum. I need a drink and a smoke after so much hard thinking... And a great haircut by the way, although the previous angry hobo/mad scientist look was also pretty good :D

If people are being toxic and insulting over something as simple as a wipe, which happens all the time, then responding and calling them out for it is justified. That said, there really is no reason to continue a conversation with morons like that, let alone continue playing with them. joins game, alt tabs out of game mid action, game bugs out due to alt tab, flexes that he's a youtuber and should be respected... whines that people call him bad.... then has the temerity to call other people toxic? get over yourself the other people have every right to call you out on your bad form and boot you for your comments... other than that.. love your videos.. but loose the ego.. especially when joining other peoples games

You got to be kidding me? Like. If I wanted too I could have easily cut it together and shown myself as an angel but I'm not. I got frustrated as fuck. I quite literally said in the video how this was showing myself from the worst side and how I was genuinely embarrassed that in thosse circumstances the easy and low effort go to default would be the hours played/youtube. That in no way excuses their toxic behavior. I tabbed out for a moment sure than I couldn't look anywhere after and when I apologized they just started dog trashing me. Like if you think that's acceptable than I'm sorry kiddo but you are the one who's delusion. This has nothing to do with ego what so ever... Not claiming that I don't have one or that I'm above that. But if that is all you saw in the clip then you are blind as a bat my friend. Appreciate your honesty but cmon... Watch the whole video. :/

Your choice of language and tone is patronizing, which shuts down any chance of a meaningful exchange. Then, when other players don't immediately acknowledge your superiority and depth of understanding, you double down on your "authority" with your, quite frankly, embarrassing amount of hours sunk into this game. You say you dislike doing it, yet you seem quite eager to pull it out in the moment (100% of the time, from the evidence above). When you make such claims, you summon much more ridicule from other players, than any desire for a discourse. I think your ego IS the problem here. The offending players in clip 2 and 3 are garbage, without a doubt, but it's your attitude that serves as the catalyst for the toxicity.

I am well aware of that m8... As I stated in the video (whether or not you believe it) It's not something I'm not proud of... the fact that my brain defaulted to the quickest and easiest way to have authority which is also why I deleted it on one of the occasions. But if you stop to think about it for just a bit longer, that makes no sense. I could have easily chosen to cut that bit out? But I chose not to... I chose to be honest about the fact that I'm a also just a human being and sometimes we get frustrated and default to stupid things. I think you misunderstood (apologies if I'm off here) the core message of the video. These were 3 examples of me on my worst behaviour which is why they were interesting to look at and reflect on in the first place... I could have chosen 3 clips with equally toxic players and myself acting like an angel. But honestly where is the self reflection in that? Also I have to say your comment on clip 2 and 3 makes literally no sense. It was never about how good or bad they were as players? Have no clue how you got that idea... If anything it was a communication issue between two players and even if we say that I had an attitude which I will gladly admit I did after the first 3 games. I still tried to communicate? I didn't default to rage? My frustration came as a result of him being (in my opinion) unwilling to cooperate... And in the third clip my teammate just straight up killed me? How is that related to my ego and them being bad? That makes no sense to me. Just my thoughts... Thanks for watching.

@@ThePartyKnife Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my comment. Yes, you are correct, I did not pick up on your true intention for this video just from watching it. So, from reading your explanation and taking you at your word, this does change my perception of it. It seems like we are better aligned in relation to the events in the video than I had previously thought. Regarding my last comment, I am to blame for your confusion as I did not elaborate enough. What I meant by my last statement is that by engaging such people in the state of mind that you had at the time, you are inviting the negativity into you consciousness and letting it have a much bigger impact on you then it really should, as you are clearly sensitive about being perceived as a skilled player.
