This is the acoustic guitar of analog monosynths...

The vermona 14 has a setting just for connecting this to it, I really want to add it to it, the Vermona 14 already sounds like beast, adding 2 more oscillators and options could be wild.

Nice, I had no idea the 14 had a setting to connect up a mono lancet! I bet that would be awesome. The 14 is definitely a beast!

Nice!! The Lancet is great. The Perfourmer is also great, but It was just overkill for my setup. The Lancet is more practical and still delivers.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the lancet as well. If I did get the performer I was planning on going a bit more minimal with my setup, but with my current synths, I think it would be overkill for me as well. Thanks for listening! 😃🎛🎹

Was eying one for a while. What put me off is that its LFO won't sync to midi. Pity. Great sounding unit.

simply amazing. I wish I knew how these machines work, any idea of where to start learning this type of music production?
@memorysound
@memorysound Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! 😃 In my opinion, the best way to start learning this type of production would be to get a sequencer and a basic mono synth like a Korg Monologue and experiment with melodies until you find a sound you like! I would also recommend having an effects pedal to add delay and reverb like I'm using the Zoom Ms70cdr here. Then you can start adding layers with other synths once you are comfortable. Another option would be to experiment on an iPad to start off. They have so many amazing synths and sequencers that it's almost overwhelming, lol. I also really love the effects apps on iPad. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm always happy to help! 😃

Korg Monologue has a built-in, 16-step sequencer... all you need to play around with melodies, step count, filter and sync effects, noise, EG/LFO shapes and routing, etc. That Zoom pedal is a great suggestion as well. Watch videos, figure out what sorts of sounds and patterns you like, and go slow. A little bit of gear goes a long way, less is more. Etc.

how do you think this measures up to a Minitaur for bass sounds?... theyre around the same price, and i KNOW the Minitaur is way thick.
@memorysound
@memorysound 8 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the Minitaur other than listening to some sweet KZbin demos of it. But, I am confident in the abilities of the Lancet to melt someones face with bass. 🤣 I love both Vermona and Moog, but there is something special about Vermona's glide setting, and their filter has always sounded comparable to Moog in my opinion. I think the Lancet is very versatile in that it can sound very chilled out, but also extremely aggressive and buzzy if you want it to. It also has the second oscillator that can add some nice harmonics or noise. Not sure if the Minitaur has that. I'll have to watch some more Minitaur demos and report back!

I had a Mini and now have a Lancet. The Mini has sync and most importantly, imo, an option to reset the osc phase with every key press. Very useful for basses. It also sounds bigger and subbier, which seems good in isolation but may cause additional headaches during mixing. The Mini is more versatile for basses, but the Vermona sounds way prettier I think, especially the filter. Moog's resonance is ugly and I don't mean just the bass / volume loss at higher levels.

May I ask where did you get the wooden side panels for the lancet?
@memorysound
@memorysound Жыл бұрын
Hello! These wooden sides came with the unit when I purchased it on reverb. But I have seen them for sale separately on perfect circuit and some etsy shops!

Nice video! I am hoping for the same as you did. Did you keep the mono lancet?
@memorysound
@memorysound Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And yes, I would say the mono lancet is a keeper! I think it will be staying in the studio. Only reason I may let it go is if I managed to get the Perfourmer MKii eventually lol

wait so if if I record 4 tracks of the lancet over one other, I can get the perfourmer sound, saving space and 1000€? I'm in
@memorysound
@memorysound Жыл бұрын
Yup! I would say the sound is the same. And now you have given me an idea for a video/song! hah The main difference that everyone mentions is that the 4 synths on the Perfourmer MKII have a unique way of playing off of each other that would be hard to mimic with just one Mono Lancet.

@@memorysound but you can't hear how the "chord" will sound before you record it or tweak it while it plays chords, it's great but not really a substitute. I would love to have a perfoumer for the sound but the size and no digital control put me off.

Whats the sequencer?

The Lancet sounds great but your totally overdosed bad reverb destroyed everything.
@memorysound
@memorysound 8 ай бұрын
While I agree that my use of reverb was a bit heavy-handed, especially since this is a demo of the Lancet's raw abilities, I think "destroyed everything" is a bit dramatic of a statement. 😂 I do appreciate a good constructive criticism but your approach was a bit rude, sir. Good day.
