Meaning of the Eagle Symbol
Native American Indians were a deeply spiritual people and they communicated their history, thoughts, ideas and dreams from generation to generation through Symbols and Signs such as the Eagle symbol. Native American symbols are geometric portrayals of celestial bodies, natural phenomena and animal designs. Native American bird and animal symbols and totems are believed to represent the physical form of a spirit helper and guide. The Native Americans consider the bald eagle and the golden eagle to be sacred. As eagles are the highest flying birds they were seen to be nearer to the Creator.

This song was sung by me and my brothers for my little sister, who was 18 and had passed due to an overdose. It gives me peace that we had a traditional burial for her & I know her journey still continues in the spirit world. Love you, my sister!

I needed this right now. In 2007 during the darkest days of the war on Iraq, as someone who had already seen war, and is from that region, the only relief I got was when I met a Mohawk elder, and she taught me how to have faith. I have been sober for close to 6 years and still stay in touch with the elder. I am once again torn by war and racism. I know that I can learn to stay strong if I can learn from the original people of Turtle Island. And this song brought me peace. It’s not a coincidence that I thought of it after my prayer. May the Creator protect us all from fear.

I went to several Pow Wows while living in Tacoma, Washington. After about the third or fourth time I realized that I was not hearing the drumming and songs with my ears. I heard them through my gut. There is something in that music that resonates in your core. I’m glad that the tribal people of the US and Canada are still here to remind us of greater powers than our own.

As a native Arizonan I grew up with members of the Navajo, Hopi, & White Mountain Apache. My sister in law is Paiute & I adore the traditional music of the all the tribes. When my mom passed in 2018 she requested before she went home that my sister in law & my nephew play the Eagle Song at her memorial. The eagle had special meaning to her because of the verse “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isa. 40:31 She had muscular dystrophy & looked forward to the day she would live out this verse in Heaven. Thank you for giving us this video 🙌🏻

I am always moved to tears! incredible, moving, I was blessed by being permitted, while in America many years ago, to attend and experience the gathering of the Nations of the Native American People. as well as the privilege of being permitted to experience a Sioux dance which was part of a healing ritual. Being a South African Hindu whose parents are from India, I have both my ancestral culture (Tamil) as well as one of the indigenous cultures of my home country, South African Xhosa culture , to shape my being. The inter-connectednes of all of Earth's peoples, although different on the outside, is all the same on the most deepest subliminal level. This has been my experience. I am blessed to be a child of the earth. My heart, however, bleeds for the struggles of the Native American peoples who even to this day, must struggle for what is an inherent right to A SIMPLE STATE OF BEING in their own land. From my Father's home village in Tamil Nadu, India to my home village in the Land of the Xhosa Nation in the eastern cape of South Africa, to the Native American People who made me feel part of a common humanity, I bow and touch your feet.

Haven't heard this music since I went to pow wows as a kid with my parents. I am only about half Ojibwe, but hearing these songs stirs something deep inside my soul. I am grateful to have grown up surrounded by the elders and hearing their stories, it made me the person I am today and above all else taught me what HONOR means. I pray every day that these traditions never die out...such a beautiful culture and people. Mitakuye oyasin.

My family has forgotten thier heritage. I've worn a shirt depicting a melancholy tribesman to remind them of our ancestors every(so called) Thanksgiving. They don't notice it, much like they fail to see any real truth. Mom says I'm an old soul, If she's right, that would explain my deep sorrow for our people, then, now and future.

Dear Sister, Reading your comment, spoke to the Melancholy Soul, This is Relative To Be A Teaching Tool For Us to learn how We Feel Matters! We have a Responsibility For Humanity That has been, Almost Forgotten and this was the intention twards Indigenous Peoples Eradication Attempt * Many Generations Have Suffered and Survived Through Acts Of Unimaginable Weight Bearing The Burden Still,...However My Sister We Have Come To The Days To Ask The Hard Questions about the Grieving and Wounded Souls Who Through Allowing Others To Express Their Deep Rooted Soul Wounds, Personally the worst thing in Our Society is Created by A Systematic Suppression Of Being Labeled And The Challenge is to Move Forward Beyond The People Who May Not Share Understanding or Acknowledge their own insecurities, The Good News Is That We're In This Time For A New Paradim and I Know Your Struggle for Our story has a Similarity between Knowing The Value Of Spiritual Importance And Interaction is Not The Norm For So Many ,Yet You Are Addressing it with Us, So Thank you for following your HEART for This is the pathway to Healing, We have a Responsibility to Assist Each Other, Within Our Own Capacity and I'd like to Encourage you to Seek Comfort from Sources That Help you Fill Up Your Spiritual Toolbox 💥 Try Maybe Looking into Music, Our Indigenous Youth Are Bringing Us Together In An Exciting Way, Try not to let those things that you know will have a sadness in, I am a cry baby for sure, but please let me close by telling you, Something I was once told at a Children's Cemetery Ceremony.. When we allow Our Tears to flow from our hearts we are feeling the Release from Our Relatives who may have not been able to weep for a loved one. First visit here. I have been spiritual all of my life. Never tying myself down to one religion or the other and yet - accepting of the way others connect with their spirituality. That brings difference of personal concepts. I connect to that feeling of being connected to everything past and present. I always wondered in the past, who I was - how many moons and suns of lifetimes has my soul experienced? Deep deep down inside - where our center of truth lives, I know in a previous lifetime, possibly two, I was Native American. I feel it as if it is part of me. This song brought me back to that sensation that I have lived in this culture, it resonates so very deep, it is in my Soul. I can meditate and it brings to this place. The fires, the drums, the clothing.. maybe it's more of a out of body experience and I am really there. Not many understand this, but to be the way that I am today - I feel it is from centuries of lifetimes of where I have already been. Perhaps that's why I hold compassion and understanding. Feels like I have roots here. I know some will deeply resonate with what I just said. I know I am not alone with believing in past lives that sometimes can cross over into the living world, harmlessly. Thank You for your Eagle song. It made me feel like I was home, again.

This message is universal!! I have always loved Native Americans, Eagles, Nature, AND my country (only second generation here, my family fled the Ukraine..."Fiddler On The Roof"-style) Celebrities, lawyers, judges, and most politicians don't impress me: Ordinary folks do. Our Creator meant better things for us but we have strayed from that path. Stop the politics and greed. And power-chases. ALL sides will bow to Messiah one day again. Love really is the only one true and conquering power: love for our Creator, however you perceive Him/Her; Love for each other; Love for ALL the world's creatures and the Earth itself. There is so much hate, devisiveness, and selfishness right now, I don't know. God save us from ourselves...
