Buddy, I'm really sorry to hear what a hit to the budget you're taking. Soon enough, you'll be holding your baby, and looking at the sail won't hurt as hard. I realize that doesn't make you feel any better now. Keep your chin up.

Vern, we are so sorry to hear of this latest calamity, " ripped Main". The cost of a Carbon Fiber radial cut is usually twice that of conventional cloth. I know you are on track to moor and fly to France for the birth of your child and to reunite with Marie, yet a quick fix on the main with investigation on future Patron gift's might have secured an alternative? Hopefully the passage isn't further compromised and the new main is shipped on time.

Hi David. Yes it was a bit of a pain but I just bit the bullet and ordered a nw main, one less thing to think about for the coming 8-10 years. thanks for watching.

I just bought a new main and headsail from Evolution Auckland. I have been testing for the last three days and couldn't be happier. I went full membrane. In the end I think it's cheaper than Dacron, and a lot cheaper than Hydranet.

Everything you did in the video makes good sense. A$7K = US$4,675. Should last at least five years if you take care of the sail. Glad to see you have more patrons. Thanks.

Thanks! I think this sort of sail will last longer than 5 years easily.

Thanks mate. I've looked through sail exchange. Much easier to find a used Jib that will work than a mainsail. I might actually order a used job form them before departing Oz.

@@SailingLearningByDoing Vernon, happy to help, re your main, I would talk to the owner Carl from Sail Exchange he is a sailor and resourceful fellow, he has the ability to modify one of his good second-hand mains just check to see if what he can do for you. John

Mate those fancy sails rip just as easy as the dacron ones & in the long run ill say youll be still sailing OK with the dacron ones when youd be looking a new set of fancy ones - Horses for courses .

For the Parley Revival the owner of the sail company put the new sail in his dinghy and delivered it to the boat from Canada to Mexico. A very special rib dinghy 300hp.
