Amouage Honour Woman is absolutely stunning! I have the 46, but I sometimes wish I had chosen the original instead, as I find it a bit crisper and cleaner. While the 46 is richer and denser, it’s still beautiful and lasts forever on my skin. I do miss the lightness of the original, though. I’m not sure how long Amouage perfumes typically last, but I hope they last ages! I only need a couple of sprays, and they last so long that I don’t have to use much!

I really had to take a pause the majority of the year on my love of fragrance. I had gotten to where NOTHING smelled good, and it was super frustrating. Currently, the only scents I like wearing are ones like Glossier You, Diptique Leau Papier, etc. I tried a sample of Rania J Musc Moschus a while back and thought it was ok, but with the predicament that I’m in now, I definitely think it could be a good one for me.

Hey Veronica, my top 5 purchases this year: Jimmy Choo - Vanilla Love: this is the kind of vanilla that puts me in a chokehold, in the best way possible. Discontinued here, but I was very lucky to find one. Mugler - Alien Essence Absolue: I tested it at a friend's, and commenced an obsessive hunt on this beauty. So mesmerizing and special. 4160 Sundays - Captured by Candlelight: fits my penchant for all things Dark Academia. This is literally the Griffindor common room (Harry Potter) with a burning fireplace, big, comfy arm chairs and lots of books, cookies and hot chocolate. Diptyque - L’Eau Papier: this was such revelation. such a breath of fresh air in an endless stream of kind of predictable new releases. Sulmona Essenca - Cubano: I had a sizeable decant, and bought a full bottle during Black Friday. Such an underrated fragrance. Why isn't anybody talking about this?! My white whale next year will be Midnight Poison. I have my harpoon at the ready 😉.

I’m not sure I’ve purchased a lot of 2024 releases, but we'll see. The always interesting Francesca Bianchi had two I've gotten this year, Love for Sale and Voluptuous Oud. Sarah Baker came out with Peach's Revenge, which I love, and then a Peach's Revenge trilogy, which included Rococo Pie and Pastel Rumours, of which the latter is the more interesting. I'm not sure how you feel about peach. I had two note obsessions this year: Osmanthus and Rhubarb. The nicest rhubarb scent was Memo Paris Corfu, I was a bit more successful with the osmanthus findings My greatest osmanthus discoveries were Les Indémodables Cuir de Chine (of which I conveniently already had a sample) and Neshama Perfume Souls on Fire (from 2022 but still unavailable in the US -- they do deliver worldwide, though). Interesting osmanthus fun fact: in post-war Japan, some toilets were basically indoor outhouses. The kind of air freshener sold to mask odors were osmanthus scented. So for people of a certain age in Japan, there is that association. That's it, I think. There's so much to catch up on!

One of my faves this Year, was MFK feminin pluriel. Such an easy reach, I had to put her away as I was rushing through that bottle as if it was a body spray 😅💸 I have a decant of guidance, and people go nuts for it when I wear her, but she is not really my type 😆 Next Year I would like to add Chanel gardenia or 1957 🤍 Im on my third bottle of valaya.. she is my fave 🤍🍑🦋

Veronica if your voice is that good just goofing around, I bet you can really sing! Being serious here. Do you ever sing while your son plays piano? I didn’t buy many full bottles this year, but the two I did buy that were loves were, Vanille Des Afriques by Ormonde Jayne, and Mont Blanc, two very different scents. One is mysterious and exotic, and the other is a cuddler. I hope to do some damage in 2025😄 I am looking forward to you doing a review on Guidance 45. I am also very interested in Musc Moschus, based on your review here. Speaking of Madonna, I picked up a pre owned bottle of Truth or Dare Naked and I LOVE it! Yes, I have a bottle of the OG Truth or Dare as well. It is described as an oriental floral with tuberose and gardenia, and yes, I can pick out the gardenia. It reminds me a little of Terra Cotta but not nearly as good! It is nice, but I like the Naked much better, personally. Naked is described as a floral, woody musk. It is very warm, slightly sweet, and a tiny bit spicy, and I think quite unique. Some commenters on Fragrantica thought it smelled a bit like peach bourbon, but I wouldn’t call it boozy, and several said they hadn’t smelled anything else quite like it. I swear it smells almondy to me, but no almonds present. It is sweet and warm and yummy, especially for this time of year. It also ranked higher than the OG in the ratings. Lots of people love it, still. If you want, I can send you sample of Naked.
