Quite an interesting route between Salzburg and Vienna. I like the westbound lanes a bit more because of the mountains. Great video!

Another fantastic drive through Austria. This made my day. lol!! Sorry your camera broke, but glad you got a new one to continue your adventures. Having them in 1080 will be really nice for all of us. Hoping you are doing well, and now I have to wait until next week for another installment of the Austrian Adventures. lol!!

Thank you for your comment! My camera had still enough breath on its lungs for another roadtrip, though.

Mondsee is a beauty 😍 and the section of A1 between Salzburg and Linz is great as well. 👍

Great video! What is up with the U, the number, and sometimes a another letter on the yellow sign like the one at 13:11 that is placed along the autobahn? I have seen those in Germany too throughout the autobahn except they use the normal blue sign. Do they mean anything?
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
Hi, U- numbers are detour routes in case the road is closed.

Apparently they got me on a day when it was supposedly 80 in Salzburg. I was faster 110 ish which doesn´t make sense to me as I had just entered the A1 around Walserberg driving towards germany. Its expensive too 130€. I was moving and its not like I am one who has to drive fast so either they are making loads with that section because most people were driving this fast or I was just unlucky. There is no way to check online if it was a day with bad pollution or generally if there were any 80 signs is there?
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
I don't know whether you can check it online. I guess they make a lot of money in this section, as you said most people drive faster than 80.

@@RoadsofEuropeverreme Fining lane hoggers would make a lot of money too. Lot of people avoiding the right hand lane as if it were lava. :(

It seems as if the lion's share of Austrian motorways has concrete pavement... do you know how come?
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
Concrete is used very extensively throughout Austria and Germany. It is usually more expensive but it lasts up to 4x longer than asphalt and sustains no damage from heavy traffic (trucks) so it's ideal for corridors with a high truck traffic share.

Asphalt is also a type of concrete

Hi, I would love to, but I haven't planned a trip to Bavaria this year.

Sad to read that they removed the 140 speed limit
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
Most people do not actually care about the speed limit being 130 or 140 anyway.
