This is Part 1 of 2 on the versatile carry all I built for my Kubota tractor. I’ll show you what this carry all can do in this video.
Stay tuned for part 2 of this series, where I’ll show you how to build this carry all. The build video will take a lot of effort to put together, so if you would like to see part 2 sooner rather than later, let me know in the comments.
Here's the inspiration for my carry all design:

This is a really cool project, but I'm scratching my head on using this vs a cart attached to the draw bar for most things I'd need to haul around. Great design. Right now I just use my loader and cart to haul stuff around.
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay 3 жыл бұрын
You certainly can use a cart, but the main advantages of a carryall is maneuverability and the ability to sit the carry-all on the ground so heavy loads can be rolled or slid onto to it. Thanks for watching!

This is awesome!!! I have a portable sawmill and need to haul both tools and sawmill at once instead of taking 2 trips even with my bucket its just not as good as this. Only thing I would change is .... I wouldnt bolt the the 2" receiver into the wood, I would weld a 2" box tube between the 2 side frames and attach my hitch to that. That way if I need to skid a log I wont have to detach the carry all. But you did a great job! I am going to make one now lol

So I followed the plans which are great... I’m using the tractor supply frame ( county) and the quick hitch from tractor supply. Thereby hangs a tale...."the hooks on the quick hitch foul the back boards on the frame by about 1/4 inch. Grind of the hooks... move the pins. Or put a spacer on the down supports it’s all a learning curve
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin! I like your first name! Can you guess why? I’ve heard others say a QH is a tight fit between the pins and backboards of the carry all. A spacer strip on the down supports is probably the easiest fix if your still in the building phase. If you are handy at metalworking, you could weld some tabs on the frame to extend the pins away from the backboard. Another fix is to route out an area on the boards near the pins by about 1/2” deep to get your clearance. Good luck finishing your build and thanks for watching!
@krissichrisgraham439
@krissichrisgraham439 5 жыл бұрын
If you added 4 legs that extend up or down, you would have the "big tool rack" that sells for $1,400. I like yours better. Great job planning that out. I did the same thing for the front using pallet forks.

Gah dang. I was getting ready to head to the store cause I've come to the conclusion a carry-all is becoming a must needed item for my home. So I really appreciate the video and very thorough details. Just the County line rack, lumber, carriage bolts & hardware, hinges & latches come to a lovely total of $720 in the 2022 market. This includes nothing else from your amazing materials list. Literally just the items mentioned in my post here. This is yet another item I can't bring myself to use up funds for. I'm getting more and more depressed every week that I just sit by to try to save for something like this but funds have to get used on groceries, taxes, fuel, and health. I'm not sure I can afford to keep living at this rate. LOL. Rant over.

Hi Gary! They are Pat's the Easy Change system. I got them on Amazon. Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U00AUNW/. So far they have been great and work with all implements instead of just Quick Hitch compatible. There doesn't appear to be a true Quick Hitch standard because a lot of people find themselves having to adapt their "quick hitch compatible" implements to work with their quick hitchs or vise versa. Thanks for the carryall preview. Can’t wait for part 2. Also thanks for introducing me to the Pat’s Easy Change Change System. I bought a set and will be installing them this weekend.

Part 2 should be out Sunday or Monday if all goes well. Glad to hear you got the Pat's Easy Change System. Here's a tip: They use two nuts on each side of the u-bolts, one as a "jam nut". They will come loose and fall off after a while. I replaced the "jam" nuts with nylock locking nuts and haven't had to worry about it since.

What is the total build cost?

I didn’t keep track and it would matter anyway because the price of everything (especially lumber) has gone up so much. But you can download the materials list from the companion webpage to the video (link in the video description) and calculate the cost. Thanks for watching!

Costs ~$600 for materials today. Better than $2k for big rack

when will you be completing your pool house?

Interesting question to ask on this video. I’m actually way further along than the last video on it shows. I just don’t post the pool house videos often because of low views, so I use them for filler videos if I have nothing else in the pipe line. I just have to finish installing soffit and eave panels, finish trim and paint on the porch section, then finish out the interior, which we are already using. Thanks for watching!

Me watching this in 2021 and seeing all the wood and thinking that has to cost at-least $500
