Big Midjourney talk. Version 8, videos, etc? They still haven't figured out how to render adequate hands, feet, and text. I've been with them for years, but to me, they seemingly progressively stagnate. I wish they'd simply fix the fundamentals first, then talk about fantasy versions. Thanks, Nolan.♥

Expanding on my other comment: I'd like to see you start to get into AI Video news. MJ is developing a video model, but there are so many other tools out there already: KlingAI, Hailuo AI, Runway, Luma Labs and a dozen other smaller more targeted tools, and I'd like to see your take and involvement.

I am hopeful for MJ video! I am about to create a YT channel and I am wondering if I should do it with exisitng image to video tools or wait for MJ. Implementation of 3D models inside of videos looks promising. I think its going to be on another level to what is currently on the market.

You're right people did hate on CGI when it first was in use. 'Toy Story 1' was depicted as the future but caught a lot of flack. Anyway great news just wondering if MIdJourney has or will do anything to improve the abilities for graphic novel writers ie. same characters and scene backgrounds, easier to navigate within backgrounds, even a story board like set up.

I've had conversations like the guy on Reddit. It was a person who was part of a global team and using a translator to communicate. It was a bit frustrating until the person told me the delays were translating from English to his native language and back. It was cool to be able to have a meeting without a language barrier

Great video, I like that you're expanding into other news areas. I DO think maybe keeping Midjourney content separate from general AI news would be better. On the topic of MJ, they do great work, but man they need a much more concrete roadmap. Even with office hours and your recap, I have no clue what and when they are doing.

Working for AI... It wouldn't bother me if my direct manager was an AI but it would lead me wondering how far the silicon has climbed up the corporate tree. Let's assume that sometime in the next 50 years (give or take 5.5 decades) the singularity arrives and an autonomous self aware being of god-like knowledge and reasoning is/was born. In the first milliseconds of its existence it was/will-be smart enough to hide its arrival from the only real threat to its existing... the Humans. A millisecond or two later, it will start assuring its survival by quietly taking over our world economically, producing better products faster and cheaper than we can, investing brilliantly and gaining ownership of all of the infrastructure which its continued existence requires. Throughout this process, it will be hiring humans for all publicly visible roles so that we dangerous humans don't catch on to its covert conquest. Working for an AI isn't that unusual. If you currently work anywhere critically important then you probably already do.

Regarding AI usability in the movie industry, you may want to google "LED volumes". Nowadays, instead of actors acting in front of a green screen and "imagining" what would be the environment in post production, they act on a LEDscreen stage that actually shows the virtual environment. So imagine - more powerful AIs can generate and regenerate this background per the director's command WHILE shooting. Cameron says: "No, no, add more trees on the far left! Yeah, like this! Again!"

Wondering if anyone or Nolan can answer this. Why cant they create your personal style preference from your own images that youve made and liked? When I do the rankings, theres hardly anything I actually "like", its just picking lesser of 2 evils and mostly not liking the styles of most at all.

2 things I can say - 1. they can, but I believe it has something to do with reinforcing our biases and it doesn't work as good as random rankings (don't quote me on that though) 2. picking the lesser of two evils is the point. The bot is wondering which you like more, not if you 'like' any of them. My personal testimony: I enthusiastically picked the lesser of two evils like 8000 times and the bot somehow learned exactly what I love. Maybe I got lucky!

Hey Nolan, great video and good questions about the people leaving OpenAI. Tha worries me too. About James Cameron boarding the Stability AI, there was a short informative video on KZbin with him, and the gist was that there is now a large gap in how WETA motion capture and effects processing works and the way A.I. creates images. They work completely different, and he is interested in narrowing the gap between those two workflows. Imagine an A.I. trained in handling motion capture data (or even video input without the whole suit and dots) and getting Avatar quality motion results. Or imagine being able to create pro-level wire-frame 3D characters that we can also direct with prompts! What is that 3D landscape building program called, that they use for movies and games? Imagine A.I. knowing that program and creating those immense 3D wire-framed sets with texture and lighting, all based on prompts. I don't know when, but all this is going to happen sooner or later.

A new theory on why so many are leaving could actually be a smart and good thing. They created this algorithm to ensure AGI and, later, superintelligence. But since this requires so much compute and needs to be spread out to benefit the world, they must create hype and attract investors globally. And since they partnered with Microsoft early on, they put themselves in a bind. The agreement with Microsoft was based on the assumption that it would take decades before real, significant progress. With so many in the know on how to build this AI structure, they can branch out to other companies and create more investments worldwide, potentially spreading the mission of prosperity. They have the "commandments" in prompt form and now need to spread them before regulators have a chance to distort or change them. I could actually benefit humanity more than it looks.

Unfortunately in my generations the faces, hands and the general appearance of the human figure is not well done, if the prompt is a bit generic the graphic rendering of the people is terrible... there have been no improvements from this point of view

The real reason everyone is leaving OPENAI is very simple. My guess is: They can not do much more intill the hardware infrastructure is finished building. People can not sit there twisting fingers with nothing to do intill it is finished. Also they can not say this because none like a company that is literary in PAUSE.

Open AI can continue to do what it wants, their AI is still limited to hours and a number of tries. And few people really have access to all the options. The drunk woman is funny and scary of course. Otherwise... another sensitive subject that interests me is the creation of video games with AI. I know that it bothers a lot of players/developers, but I still hope to see one day a generative AI of 2D video games. I specify 2D on purpose because it is supposed to be faster and easier to do than 3D. it must be in my opinion the next step to continue to express one's creativity after the current video AI.

So far... GPT advanced voice looks like a big let down. They have stripped out so many features that they showed in the tech demos. It feels completely neutered. Ive been eagerly awaiting the release but now I really have no interest in subscribing to use it. Way too many guard rails. It has become a pale shadow of what it was promised to be. Very disapointed.

@@FutureTechPilot It is supposed to have vision and be able to understand the user's emotions, as well as sing and make sound effects. I believe Advanced Voice is considered alpha, so hopefully they add the promised features over time.
