Let's take a minute to appreciate how Janfon has basically mastered 3D animation, but when it comes to 2D, he manually drags the developer's camera feeds onto the screen to simulate animation. Absolute lad. Never change, Janfon, never change.

I was gonna make a Pusfume joke but then actually started thinking, when this releases, do you think there's a chance this could open up possiblities for a playable Pusfume mod? Using the playable characters and just ramshackling them into a playable character?

The trouble with making a custom character stemmed more from how one would go about replacing meshes and animations. The only real idea dalo_kraff had was hiding eg. Bardin and puppeteering custom meshes and animations over him. Also how would you go about making first person and third person work? Too many unknowns, not enough modding tools, it was just undoable. What is doable is custom levels lol they actually figured out placing down flat platforms and giving them a navmesh, so there's hype for other modding possibilities 🎉

If anything it confirms they had to delay it for one reason for another (probably the new careers, new missions and darktide if I had to guess) but now that they have everything laid out it’s a lot easier to (at least attempt) to balance, can’t wait for it

Never lost faith. When I saw the gameplay I knew the code existed to make it work. Fs is known for reusing stuff so it was only a matter of time. Outcast is about to start punching the air once he gets targeted for being slow asf.

Well, there’s definitely going to be a gas rat that’s constantly throwing stuff at you while behind a wall. Waystalker and perhaps pyromancer are going to be very important for dealing with that. There’s probably going to be a repeater type weapon meta in order to deal with players acting like crackheads as gutter runners. Also, using the deep wood staff on another player sounds hilarious.

Can't wait to find glitchy spots where I'll just stay as a Blightstormer and cast hell upon the team forcing them into a corner while a gas rat bombs them in. It's gonna be so balanced

I'll be honest - i want a Death on the Reik style missions more than versus mode. I want an epic boat chase or something as dynamic and bombastic. V2 versus sounds like a massive pain in the arse to balance given that U5 are way too strong and are able to dish out massive AOE stagger and damage. And then some combat abilities are designed for PvE (ironbreakers taunt). My only guess is that versus is a different button in the launcher with different set of rules applied to it.

I don't care about balance, let the U5 wreck my player-controlled rat like it's just a regular computer-controlled one, I'll just be happy to try and outsmart the U5 better than the regular specials, if the game lets me respawn within a reasonable timeframe and have another go at being as annoying as a Skaven can be!

It's going to be .. really interesting to see how this unfolds. I'll admit, I'm really not too optimistic about a Versus mode for VT2s gameplay. People keep bringing up L4D2 but it's worth stating that these two have much less in common than VT1 did. The real culprit is how they will treat the Dodge mechanic vs. incappers since you can just neglect Pack Masters completely that way. The power is completely in the hands of the Ubersreik 5 as it should be, way more than the Survivors in L4D2 did for Versus.
