net_fakelag does have a pretty niche use in practicing rocket jumping. When you boot up a jump map in a listen server, you have no ping, which makes rocket jumping significantly cleaner and changes timings for stuff like pogos and speedshots. If you're a player that has bad ping issues in real servers, it might be better to simulate how jumping will ACTUALLY feel with net_fakelag. A value of 30 or so is usually ideal for this.

YUV and HSV are color spaces, similar to RGB but using different values for the axes. For example HSV uses hue, saturation, and value (brightness) as the axes instead of red, green, and blue. some of these commands, like shading that tells you where you can build/walk can be kinda useful without this exploit, and without bugging other people. start a server (I usually go to the console and write map , like tr_walkway_rc2, but you can do it with the UI. Then in the console write sv_cheats 1, which you can do because you're the host. Now obviously all of the mentioned cheats can be used, but things that let you study the map are now available to use without doing it on a public server

Regarding r_novis, the thing about multiplayer in Source games is that entities outside of your PVS are not just invisible, they literally do not exist on your client as the server does not transmit them to you (with some exceptions). This is presumably done to conserve network traffic as transmitting every single entity to every single player at all times would be very demanding.

YUV is a color space like RGB where Y is the luminance and U and V are chroma values. It's very similar to YCbCr used in digital film cameras. But for TF2 purposes it's going to give Luminance (i.e. black and white) that is *relatively* perceptual. Meaning it looks to our eyes like the image has just been desaturated and things don't get brighter or dimmer. HSV (Hue Saturation and Value) is another color space. The reason things look brighter is that this mode isn't doing any perceptual weighting. If you look at a color wheel you'll notice that green appears brighter than red and especially blue. Even though the values for each might be [1,0,0], [0,1,0], and [0,0,1], our eyes perceive colors in the green/yellow range as brighter due to the overlap in where our Red and Green cones perceive light. If the color itself is removed via HSV and the color channels aren't weighted you'll see their numerical values translated directly into luminance. This causes very saturated colors such as a deep red or blue to come across as white. By default most image editing software like photoshop assumes you *don't* want this and applies a bit of math to keep the luminance more like what it appeared to be in full color.
