I love Telltale's Walking Dead series and I'm only now getting into The Last of Us. I definitely see Ellie winning this 1v1 since hardship has forged her into a soldier while Clementine became a survivor. Though I definitely think the lore makes Clem better at surviving the zombie apocalypse since she is smarter about staying alive and Ellie is much more likely to take stupid risks.

Note the massive difference in the apocalypse. In tlou the infected, at least stalkers and clickers have superhuman strength and can move at a speed that most humans cannot maintain. While in the walking dead as far as I know they have human or below that strength and move slowly.

I actually do agree with this, because I thought about it and I feel like Clementine is more of a leader, she can be ruthless but she's also logical and makes efficient plans, however, I think Ellie is a WHOLE lot more ruthless, she is a fighter more than anything. But I feel like they're both equally soft-hearted in some way. Also also, I feel like because of the difference between the zombies in their worlds, plays a part in how they fight. Maybe if clementine had to go up against some last of us zombies her fighting style would be a lot different.

Yeah, I think that the match ends as a draw. I know you said Ellie was the winner, but given that it ends here with Ellie backing off and sparing Clem since she doesn't want to force a kid to be in her position, this seems like more of a draw. Still, it makes sense here, and I like that you incorporated character traits, not just combat traits, into this thing. If Ellie just decided, “Fuck it”, and killed AJ or something, then killed Clem, well, obviously, I’d have said it was OOC. That's just a line she wouldn't cross. Maybe a line she's come close to crossing, but ultimately one she decided wasn’t worth it. I dunno.

This is one of those fights not decided by prolonged combat or some kind of crazy plan, it'd be mere moments. In my opinion it's really about who finds who first. If Ellie is looking for Clem first, Ellie wins. If Clem is looking for Ellie first, Clem wins. The first big hit will decide this quickly. (Similar to Abby breaking Ellie's arm in their first fight) IMO Clem's durability is a little undersold here as she did surgery upon her own arm wound at only 12 or 13 I think (the dog bite in the second game). That shit isn't all adrenaline and definitely takes a level of willpower and resolve which I don't think Ellie has really ever shown, especially with similar injuries in the second game. In a firefight Ellie typically carries more armament though so I think she had an extra advantage with her whole arsenal if it came down to a gunfight. I'd say one interesting note is that Ellie is immune to her respective virus, so if this comes down to some kind of plan that leaves the other biten, Ellie could just take the bite and run whilst Clem would have to sever the limb or die. It's one more way Ellie could kill Clem if need be, so its an interesting note.

Love Clem but Ellie wins. Like Clem more. That being said, Lara croft destroys Ellie. Thing is Clem doesn't have to do much. Like the most she's done is organise a bunch of cowards to take on a small army and win despite her idiot teamates. Real reason is different worlds. Ellie in one that's much more complex and realistic. Clem in one where the military can't even kill some brain dead? But yeh ig Ellie still sucks form bad writing in the last of us 2. In tlou1 surviving the butcher's was impressive and stealthily killing the hunters and escaping the butcher's. But in a death battle well obviously Ellie has killed lots more humans and is more brutal and less hesitant unlike Clem. Sure Clem can be brutal like when totruing Abel but we all know Ellie did much worse to Nora. In terms of raw skills I'd say Clem is a good shot. I mean saving Mollie at 8 years old and headshotting a walker?? Ellie also good. Actually in conclusion I'd say they are a lot more balanced than I thought they were. Ellie is a brutal fighter and she does deal with tougher zombies then clem, and she’s muscular, in strength wise she would’ve won a fight against Clem. However Clem is a better survivor then Ellie, more intelligent and maturer then Ellie, after all this is a girl who raised a baby in a apocalypse all by herself. While Ellie after the road trip with Joel spent most time in a survivor community while Clem survived all by herself. If a battle came between these two, Ellie would have an upper hand combat wise but Clem is a problem solver and she would use Ellie’s impulsive behaviour to her advantage. No matter what, I think Clem would survive not entirely because she would win the fight (there’s still a chance she could) or Ellie sparing her, more like she would outsmart Ellie, like getting away from her or luring zombies to Ellie. After all Clem is a survivor first and fighter second.

This is a stomp in ellies favor, its not even close. 1st: AJ isnt a factor for clem. In TWD comics that continue her story after S4, she left him behind at the school. 2nd: doesnt matter ellie started training later, shes had to survive with less supplies against WAY tougher enemies. 3rd: clementine's stealth isnt as good as Ellie's. Cause ellie has plot armor hearing, so she'd hear clem coming depending on how far she is. 4th: Ellie has more weapons. 5th: even if you go off JUST hands, ellie again has fought abby who is OBVIOUSLY stronger than clem, and thats before we get into other men shes successfully fought off.
