Versus Strikezone: Kazdan Paratus Vs. Maw (The Unhinged Abominations)

All footage of Kazdan Paratus is taken from Antoine Bandele's Let's Play of The Force Unleashed 1, and all footage of Maw is drawn from Lightning Bolt Forever's Let's Play of Dark Forces: Jedi Knight. Both are recommended viewing.
One of the hurdles I had to overcome in making this video was the difficulty in determining Maw's precise skill level. All we know for certain about him is that he's a fully trained Jedi Knight, a hardened Jedi killer, and has been honing his skills for decades. There is no information on his previous Jedi kills. He wasn't able to demonstrate anything against Jedi Master Qu Rahn because he was cut down so swiftly. And the official version of his fight with Kyle Katarn depicted Katarn defeating him by goading him into recklessly charging; a purely circumstantial victory and not a demonstration of combat skill from either combatant.
I opted to sidestep the issue, and I will be proceeding under the assumption that Paratus and Maw are equally skilled, and my arguments will be focused purely on the logistical factors. I will be using the bossfights with each character from their respective video games as the basis for my analysis of their fighting style, battlefield conduct, and tactics.
With all of that out of the way, let's begin: Kazdan Paratus and Maw; the bastard lovechild of Yoda and Doctor Octopus, and the amazing flying torso. If these two psychotic freaks ever met on the battlefield, who would win?

Underated Charactors is Jensaari's specialty. His videos on these types of charactors are also his least controversial because people don't often complain about how underated charactors fight each other in somebody else's opinion. But the moment somebody says Bane or Revan shit hits the fan. Though these Match ups with less known charactors are also so much more interesting than the usual Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Bane, Or Yoda matches. Also the first time I've seen these charactors used and I'm all giddy 🤓

I've never even heard of that second character so thanks for the video. To think that there was a character that just floated around and attacked like that. As you said he was using the force exclusively for this, I would think that a fair amount of his force power was being put into constant levitation which plays into the fact that he didn't use force abilities very much. Otherwise, he should've just blown that Jedi off the ledge with a powerful force push and it would've been game over.

The problem with this matchup is the two combatants are on the opposite end of the tactical abomination scale. Kazdan Paratus gains mobility and reach with his unorthodox approach. Maw gains brutal but risky physical shock assaults and gets unburdened by terrain. Both fall short in having a strong backbone of dueling. Both need new foes who resemble them to observe an exciting duel! I like Maw, and I like Kazdan Paratus too. As displayed here, Maw is an intimidating, once-successful savage Djem-So, Niman inquisitor who struggles to connect these styles to Trispzest with the help of Ataru. He needs a mobile physical opponent who is not highly technical nor is extremely strong (due to Maw lacking leverage). Suggestion: - Qui-Gon Jinn and his more physical yet still mobile ataru, - Alora extremely acrobatic ataru + niman + jar'kai + shien?, - Valanthyne Farfalla non-humanoid legs and over confidence Kazdan Paratus is a mad Niman wizard showing past proficiency in Shien and possibly learned a thing or two from Makashi. He needs shock using chaotic long-reach foes (and some who preferrably have something to do with droids or machinery)! Suggestion: - Boc'aseca with his erratic movement, unnerving laugh, unique force powers, and clumsy single-dual blade shock switching, - jedi trained Bao-Dur + remote and having a power coupling arm, - Seventh Sister + probes having a long reach spinning saber and scouting probes that can stun, - Darth Nihl with the longest reach single saber ever made and significant force potential, - Xalek having two blades and superb defense but still mostly preferring long range force attacks, - General Grievous who is probably programmed to be a better fencer but has no force and is mechanical. How about these ideas?

Star Wars needs new characters! Somehow, either from canon, legends, or even fans! There are just simply not enough by now! :D We have so many potential sources to bring forth jedi and sith, yet we are lacking the amount of versus series participants needed. For the sake of duels, we have a plethora of races, sects, and organizations that could offer fine individuals for 1v1 combat for either physical characteristics, mental discipline, force potential, and force training views! Imagine a Gand Findsman trained as a sith assassin to master Shii-Cho, Juyo, and Shien. Imagine a Kel-Dor Baran Do Sage trained to be a jedi sentinel/shadow to master Djem-So. Imagine an Esh-Kha trained to be a sith assassin mastering in Shii-Cho and Vapaad. Dual wielding sabers. Imagine a Voss trained as a jedi "sage" but being a strong dark jedi mastering Niman, Djem-So, and a saberstaff. Imagine a Chistori cyborg being a jedi battlemaster/lord using Makashi and Shien. Imagine a Miraluka ex-CorellianJedi who became a revanite and force levitating using Trispzest, Juyo, Djem-So. etc...

Imagine a jedi who was victim of extreme friendly fire incident and because of this and being basically betrayed by his allies who abandoned have joined the Separatists and was taught in ways of the dark side and got a whole lot of cybernetic implants , Count Dooku considering defeating Sidious who did not discover secret apreantice yet . Trained to form VI with forms II and IV in mind , form II from Count Dooku himself and form IV as result of his body literally becoming another weapon in their arsenal , all with addition of more complete sith training but having to leave galaxy after his master died and creating a small planet made to sustain life indefinetly without need for a sun like star , similar to Death Star of empire but made to sustain life and not destroy it like some sort of gigantic blunt instrument .

Unfortunately, even canon seems to not deviate from anything new that was already introduced in lore. Kanan being a padawan of depa bilapba is interesting, but he didn't learn Vaapad from her and I feel that Rebels, while being an "okay" show, wasted the potential of kanan and ezra. You could get his entire story by just simply watching the show without the extra supplement material such as the kanan comics or the bad batch show right now Cal Kestis is actually unique. He wields a saberstaff and uses trakata in his saber sequences. Unfortunately the amount of combatants on his level is very minimal. Im actually thinking cal kestis vs zane carrick would be interesting, but jen ain't touching disney canon, and I don't have the material nor the time to do that breakdown

What twins? Arcann and Thexan? Baras and Ekkage? Both twins could demolish Maul and Savage. Anyway Maul is an extremely physical/kinetic Juyo martial artist, because he hasn't got any decisive offensive force powers quickly usable in a battle. He needs a partner who can compliment him in range and the force. Savage is unfortunately a total liability because of the big untrained clumsy and crude target he is.

Joshua Kei sora bulk is a fallen jedi master who has extensive training. Savage opress is a brute. The only victories hes had have been using brute strength and bulk is a tank as well. Savage opress is a terrible character and he would get crushed by almost any moderately skilled force wielder.

I like Rahm Kota as a character, but I don't think he would win. But I think he would win against Darth Maul, Qui Gon Jinn and Quinlan Vos. And by the way: All he did in the force unleashed is this: he disarmed Sidious of his lightsaber, killed 2 red guards and was then stopped by Sidious's force lightning. Disarming Sidious is impressiv concidering his strengh in the force and more than I can say for "3 council masters" who died instantly. Vader on the other hand bested Kota instantly by using force choke when he captured the founders of the rebel alliance.

TBH, i regard Marr as being Higher than Satele, given that he was on the Dark council at such a young age, and then remained on it for decades, I'd say that compared to Satele, Marr must have better 1 on 1 dueling potential to dissuade and defeat usurpers of his position, especially given Satele's clear focus on taking down hoards. But yes, given his advanced age and ranking to be at least close to Satele, I would say Darth Vader would be hard pressed not to win.
