The T818 DD base with the 488 GT3 wheel and the included native Quick Release is awesome 😍.

I'm a bit surprised to be honest , the T818 is an absolute pro wheel and the plastic causes zero problems , I have had mine for over a year now and not one single issue with it . I use the Rally wheel with mine R838 . Now I will agree the wheel is an added expense , But not if you're already invested in TM and have a wheel or wheels . Also it cannot be stated enough how smooth the T818 is especially around the center . And the FFB is off the charts and much more than enough . Of course this is all my opinion but I really do love my T818 .Again the plastic is a non issue and the base is powerful and for Racing it's a great Base . In iRacing the software is more than enough to get the wheel to your liking along with the TM software . I don't know , I'm just surprised, For Racing only , The T818 to me is the choice . And if you don't like the Cammus wheel you're stuck ! Not everyone will like that wheel . But great video as always and thank you for doing it ! Peace !

Its a fabulous drive I agree. A bit too nervous perhaps for beamng but the amount and clarity of detail is amazing. For the plastic, we agree. Said it in the original review too. It doesnt interfere with the functionality... it would just have been... more fitting if they made it a bit more premium seeing Cammus managed to do it.

Hey, I am also a freak in that "road imperfections" detail and feel haha. What would you say is the best wheels you tried that have that? Anything between 5-12nm.
@SimulatedDrivingResource
@SimulatedDrivingResource 28 күн бұрын
The asbolute cleanest and most impressive for road details and imperfections that I have tested so far would be a Simagic Alpha mini.

@@SimulatedDrivingResource This is a brand I have heard of but never really considered. I love the compact factor the cammus brings more than I hope to care for but I would consider it, thank you so much!

The Cammus won't let you down either. C12 is still the steering wheel that I use the most. Bang/buck it is better than Simagic or any other out there.

@@SimulatedDrivingResource Really, very interesting. If I look at $660 for a cammus wheel, simple pedals and a clamp vs $1000+ for the same with Simagic (or a little bit less with Moza), It is quite a difference. I had a massive aluminum rig with Thrustmaster eco system which is quite complete which I passed on to my cousin. Now that I am at a place with not so much room, the compactness with the c12 is quite nice, plus the savings. Don't get me wrong, I will spend that $400 (without taxes) extra if I could realize how much good the Simagic is with its feel, quite a shame I can't understand the feeling of various DD wheels without spending all that. I went to the Ring twice in the last two years, rented a bunch of cars and I realized I only really need a good wheel. The pedals, meh. Also gears, it is not the same as in real life and I drive a manual daily for 15 years now, so if a wheel will communicate to me the bumps, curbs and surface like in real life, it is the only thing I need

Hello, I hope you're doing well. Finally, a video on BeamNG with the T818! ^^ So, if I understood correctly, the T818 is better and offers more sensation (if I take the example of BeamNG), but it's not plug and play, you need to spend time configuring it? And what configuration did you do, what did you change to make it as realistic as possible? Thank you in advance, and I wish you a very good day!

It felt better when transmitting the condition of the road. It did less well with bumps and kerbs and off-road surface. Normally the settings you see at 00:05:43 are the settings I used in game. For TM control panel, I set it to sport. The behavior still felt very nervous when driving it though. So like you say, it's not plug and play, you will have to tinker a lot and for BeamNG specifically, unless TM changes the control panel drastically, I still felt it was too "nervous" to drive a normal car with it. Still a great sensation though, but I feel the T818 is more optimized for really track driving.

Oh right, what would be the best steering wheel then (generally for BeamNG, Assetto Corsa and EA WRC)? In a price range equivalent to or lower than the T818@@SimulatedDrivingResource

@@arvidssondrago3496 I know its a stupid answer, but it all depends. I have a weak spot for the "safe" Fanatec DD CSL 8. They are just all-round good, have a nice selection of steering wheels and quick release. Decent pedals in the eco and good software and this all for a very decent price. Also very present on the second hand market. MOZA R9 is good, nice material, nice eco but overpriced in certain parts of the world (especially EU region). I have a hard time recommending them over Fanatec. Thrustmaster T818 is as said, extremely good on track and even in BeamNG, but the lack of tuning makes it hard to adapt it to certain games that require different settings than race-car settings (you get close, but like I said in the video for BeamNG, its not completely how I want it to feel) + they don't have a big leather steering wheel is difficult to accept for me. Also the price bang/buck is not good. Last one is CAMMUS and that is really my recommendation for price-conscious people with a very good sensation which is close to the T818 on track and even better in a normal car-simulator, but no quick release and at the moment a very small eco-system but with the best price bang/buck out there. Ordering via CAMMUS at the moment is also a bit weird if you look at their website but they are very reachable for questions. It's really hard to recommend a steering wheel because everyone has different expectations, backgrounds, history, budget and so on but I hope I helped at least a bit.

Yes I know, we all have different feelings, different drives and different expectations. I'm going to look at CAMMUS, my father is fully equipped with Fanatec with a DD2 base, chassis, Sparco seat, etc... I go there very often, but I don't like the Fanatec software... and we don't have much of a profile (I'm talking about the base/flight), but the quality is more than there. Thank you very much in the meantime, you've gained a loyal subscriber :) @Neosphinx

t818 is actually 15nm peak. Also, use the Beta control panel, it's coming along.
@SimulatedDrivingResource
@SimulatedDrivingResource 9 ай бұрын
Yes and the C12 has also a higher Peak. I just want to point out there is a difference in power, that is why I mention the constant torque it can generate as those are the "official" numbers. As soon as I get another chance I will check out the new control panel. Thanks.

Thrustmaster and Logitech suck. We don't need their placticy products anymore. Better get something with much more quality at lower prices such as R12 or Alpha or La Prima.
