My brother got nicked by the "three strikes" rule.😢 After his second incarceration, he spent years cleaning up his act, holding down a job, and he moved in with his girlfriend, so his commute was tolerable. One day, he got assigned a new parole officer. When this stranger came to our door asking for him by name, my dad responded, "Oh, he hasn't lived here for years." This was a violation of his parole, so... "strike three." He missed his daughter growing up because of this mistake.😔 "I'd very much like to say something hilarious, but something must be done!"

Although I know this isn't an original comment, it's almost like basing a legal system in baseball rules isn't a good idea. The truth is of course, in the states where the three strike laws exist, they're just putting people in jail for money. It's a legal way of replacing slavery for production of goods isn't it? I'm not a specialist, but I started working with dementia patients in 2012, including those with advanced dementia. The explanation for the origin of the expression O.K. is FALSE, despite being a very popular myth! In reality, OK originated at the giant harbour of New York City, where Greek immigrants were employed as loadmasters for the ships (Greeks were known since the ancient world to be brilliant sailors and seamen).
