Mark’s live solo on the Bob Reynolds tune, Can’t Wait For Perfect, is for me the best playing and tone I’ve ever heard on KZbin.

Great interview, and I can't get enough of Mark's playing, plus he's a super chill guy. I've seen him several times through the years around the Bay with the Pups as well as his own group, and had the chance to take a pandemic-era Skype lesson with him (plus some of his online courses) from which I'm still learning. What I find most amazing is his timing and feel for both lead and rhythm, and that he'd be right at home in Prince's or James Brown's band one night and then shredding as lead guitar in a metal or prog rock band the next. I'm also following his journey as he establishes himself as an artist in his own right. And now, sooner or later, I'll have to go down the rabbit hole of trying to learn at least some of the riffs from "What About Me" and "Shimmy Tiger". 😀

There aren't very many players that can play funk progressions as well as Mark. He's so laid back with his wrist movement and doesn't over play syncopation. Truly a pocket player.

Moises is great for quick backing tracks on songs you want to play. For a company talent show, I actually sat down with Melodyne some years ago and dropped the volume on each note to rough out a backing track for a Rippingtons song! With Moises the guitar part separated out sometimes seems to miss the early attack of some notes likely due to how those sat in the mix, but the rest of the backing comes out great, and that's what I was wanting to be better anyway... The separate guitar part always is good enough to use for learning the part and would probably do pitch to MIDI if you wanted with a little cleanup in something like Anthem Score which is a decent pitch to MIDI conversion tool that can even print the sheet music directly for $35 if you can't swing something like Melodyne and export it to something like Musescore. I think it's a good value at $40/yr for my purposes since I've bought individual songs from artists that will offer them in "minus guitar" format like Chris Standring and this will work on anything it seems.

The Fiore has The Best Neck I've ever played. I just don't dig the look or the pickups, otherwise I'd get one. If it had the strat look like the silver sky, silver sky neck and middle pickups, a dragon 1 humbucker in the bridge, roasted maple neck I'd buy it.

So, basically if it were a completely different guitar? Got it. I'll tell Paul..🤣

@mjlettieri Thanks Mark, you're my Hero. Rock on! Oh yeah and maybe throw on some Gibson Robot tuners.
@uwedasler425Ай бұрын
No offense, but I am very glad you are not designing guitars at PRS 🙂 A Dragon 1, seriously? That's the second worst pickup PRS ever made (I love PRS, but every pickup - except for the Soapbars - preceding the 57/08 has been a disaster). I am playing since 1971 and have been searching for the perfect S-style forever (had at least 50). Since the Fiore came out I bought two of them and sold 2 Fender CS, 1 Shabat, and 1 Patrick James Eggle, just kept 1 Macmull (SSS config). The Fiore is the best guitar I have ever played.
@Jon-j1m28 күн бұрын
@@uwedasler425 I was just being a little facetious. I've played the Fiore a couple of times and really liked how it played and felt, of course I'd have to run it through my rig to actually see how it sounds and performs. The Feel of the guitar is amazing! I kinda wish PRS would do some different finishes on this bad boy. I really like the transparent red. Maybe some metallic finishes or their standard carved flame top and body shape would look cool. My Suhr classic T has a roasted maple neck, and I absolutely love it. I believe this guitar with a roasted maple neck would sell very well.
