Not me learning more from your 15 min video than I do in a two hour lecture. Your videos have saved me this semester.

glad to hear it was helpful. I too think I would have learned a lot more if my college lectures were half as long.

Great video. It would be great if you would do a video on Ford Motor Co., when Henry was in charge. Vertical integration defined!

Yes, that's always been a plan. I think I could tie in Ford with Hollis Huntington who did much the same a generation or two earlier with the West Virginia Coal fields and the east coast railroads and shipyards.

Tesla are doing vertical integration because they can. Most other companies cannot. That’s the reason Tesla are doing Dojo and VW and Toyota are not. Once you understand why Tesla can, you will understand why Tesla is valued so highly.

Vertical Integration - Nicely explained with great examples 👌 I have a small doubt, isn't vertical integration part of Corporate Strategy?
@dhalliday
@dhalliday 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Since its about the integration of distinct business units it fits more with corporate strategy concepts. Though I don't they are mutually exclusive in this context since you could be integrated at the product or business unit level.

sorry, I've not got the point which is more effective vertical integration or outsourcing !!
@dhalliday
@dhalliday 2 жыл бұрын
Outsourcing is usually more efficient! Vertical integration should be done when it provides a competitive advantage or very strong cost savings.
