Does the firebox have to be a certain size on a vertical smoker for correct draft?

I would love to see more detail on how you did the diverted plate. I’m in Australia and want to build one of these. I have watched almost every one of your videos to get as much information as I can and enjoyed them all Keep them coming

I can’t wait to see you in a shop one day. I myself want a bigger shop. I’m like you and have to move stuff around all the time to run from the rain.

Looks great. Your work is stellar. The valve is probably for a PID temperature controller fan set up.

Just wanted to say thanks Allen for the video you and I think quite a like cause on my build, I was not sure how I would was going to make the Damper or air intake on my fire box, the slide was what I had in mind wasn't exact on how to do it my smoker is a reverse flow made out of 3/16 plate with main chamber 48 in across by 36 in deep octagon shape and a 20 by 20 cubed Firebox with a 20 x 20 by 48 inch upright centered on the back side of main chamber it will be mounted on a trailer when I'm done I might later add a propane log Berner really enjoy your videos keep them coming brother

That plasma cuts like butter! Saves a lot of time too I’m sure. Was wondering if you was going to get one. It’ll pay for itself in no time from not having to use as much gas. It would be really cool if you could get some temperature gauges with your logo in them. That’d be 🔥
@lazypwelding71765 жыл бұрын
Hey Allen, I see your using your plasma more and more! If you want to save your hole saw some ware and tare, run your hole saw down just enough to scribe a nice circle then switch over to your plasma cutter. Saves on cutters and your time.

Awesome work and thanks for showcasing your craft/skills.

On 1\4 in. Plate I usually use a hole saw just enough to make a groove, then cut the hole with the plasma cutter
@sergioramirez33285 жыл бұрын
That is some beautiful work there its aot cleaner tocut with the plasma cutter and faster looks good and ready to smoke keep up that grilling

You're really good at these smokers Allen. Have you ever looked into a magnetic base portable drill press for your hole saw and drilling? They're really awesome, I've used one before and loved it.
@andrewkennedy97045 жыл бұрын
Those are not cheap. We have one at work and is awesome but the price I think keeps it out of a lot of people's hands.
@SuperDave215 жыл бұрын
@@andrewkennedy9704 I've got one, was a welder.... but in a business time is money, so if it did the job faster and better it's good for business no matter the price. It's an awesome tool and once you've had one it's hard to do without it.
@andrewkennedy97045 жыл бұрын
@@SuperDave21 oh I agree but as I'm sure you've seen it took him a long time to get a plasma cutter so I doubt a mag drill will show up anytime soon. They are awesome however.

I see you're using the Plasma cutter. what's you thoughts compared to the torch. you're very talented with both. was just wondering if you have any real preferences for either one... Thanks!

How much would a smoker like that cost in materials and labour? I've recently been thinking of having a smoker like this built as an investment and because I love smoked food, but I'm not much of a DIY man and would really appreciate it if I got an answer.
