Thank you, this is the best video I have seen on this subject so far. Due to my desk and space not being ideal, I have no choice but to place my KRK 7” monitors on their side. I am curious to try this test on them as well. Cheers, Jamie :)

If you have a reference mic take some measurements! As long as the spacing between the woofer and tweeter play nice you get more leeway with placement

What about "Center Channel" Speakers. I'm fairly certain those are meant to be placed horizontally. For example if you have a center channel speaker that has a woofer - Midrange (or tweeter) - woofer (all in a line), can that be placed vertically?
@SocialClubSound19 күн бұрын
The MTM design of center channels aids in the horizontal off axis response which results in a more even response across the horizontal plane. If you were to switch that to vertical, the response across the horizontal plane will suffer. Since people are typically seated next to each other and stationary when watching a movie the better horizontal response results in a more even experience for everyone on the couch. If you were to flip that vertically, the people to the left and right wouldn't get the same soundstage as when it was horizontal. Hope that helped clarify. Thanks for watching!

Pretty crazy how close the Inclined Fidelity speakers come to the Amphions. 😮
@Tazmanian_Ninja Жыл бұрын
Doesn't mean they SOUND the same. These are measurements. How a speaker actually sounds, requires either more measurements (off-axis responses, sound power, etc) OR (gasp...) listening to it.

Send Danny (GR Reasearch) a pair and 👀 see if he can build a crossover any flatter or would he give props 👏 to your Xover design? Just curious to hear his thoughts for entertainment purposes only.

don’t the back of those monitors reflect a lot or do you mix in front of them ?
@SocialClubSound8 ай бұрын
When you say the back of those monitors do you mean my touchscreen video monitors? If that's what you mean, I have them placed and angled so there's no sound from the speaker directly reflecting off them.

Did you measure both speakers at the same time? You’re not supposed to measure both L and R speakers at the same time. The data here is inaccurate, very misleading, unless I missed something?
